Theres 100% no reason that a main event should ever be 3 rounds
I more or less agree. Of course, though, a "main event" is really sort of an arbitrary classification that just means that that fight comes last at a particular event. It's not really any more significant in the grand scheme of the sport in the same sense that a title fight is.
You don't think Fitch polishes off dudes like Saunders in round 4?
And this is good news. Honestly I don't care about the consistency or perceived fairness or whatever, just give me more 5 round fights. It's a step in the right direction.
Any time you can avoid a decision and let them fight it out longer to decide a winner, I am in favor. There a ton of fights that would most likely go the other way in a 5 rounder. The UFC ends their telecast 30 minutes early every damn time anyway...
Yeah, that's the other thing, I want AT LEAST 5 fights per PPV and if they can't do that with all fights being 5 rounds then, again, I can't get aboard that train.
I think all fights should be 5 rounds, championship matches 7 rounds
You'll get used to it.
Obviously it would require change, but eventually, yes.
3 fights per PPV? Dont PPVs last 3 hours? Boxing usually puts two 12 round fights and two 10 rounders on a PPV card ,thats 132 minutes of fights which is five 5 rounders in MMA so there's plenty of time to put on 5 fights they would just have to cut out a lot of the BS no one wants to hear anyway
Well I thought it was 3 hours just like boxing so there's no reason they cant put five 5 round fights in one PPV
I'd rather see something like an overtime system. If the same guy wins the first three rounds, just call the damn match over. But I wouldn't mind seeing most close fights go on longer.
