From wikipedia:
On December 6, 2008, Pacquiao moved up to the welterweight division, in order to face the six-division world champion Oscar De La Hoya at the MGM Grand Las Vegas, in a fight called "The Dream Match". Presented by Golden Boy Promotions and Top Rank, the bout was scheduled as a twelve round, non-title fight contested at the 147 pound welterweight limit. Although Pacquiao went into the fight widely recognized as the leading pound-for-pound boxer in the world, some boxing pundits had speculated that 147 pounds could be too far above his natural weight against the larger De La Hoya.[48] However, due to rehydration after the weigh in, De la Hoya came into the fight actually weighing less than Pacquiao, and close to 20 pounds under his usual fighting weight. Pacquiao dominated the fight, and after eight rounds De La Hoya's corner was forced to throw in the towel, awarding Pacquiao the win via technical knockout.
Looks like Pacquiao entered the ring at 148.5, DLH @ 147.

^^^^^^^^ geezZZZ I didnt realize we were all on Pacquaio by decision.
You guys think this goes to a decision or are you just betting it just for action ?
all the buzz I've heard points to it and I had a great day in MMA so I'm just on it because of that. I don't know shit about boxing.
I really think it goes to a decision. I had 2 concerns, one being the 8 oz gloves making a knockout more likely and the other being Margarito's corner throwing in the towel. Margarito is a warrior, desperately needs to be licensed in Nevada, so will be looking for redemption from the commissions and the fans, and doubt he will be knocked out or be stopped on his stool.
Pacman is quicker and has some devastating power, but I think it's a close fight through 6, maybe 3 rounds apiece. Pacquaio will punish Margarito late, but I still say he doesn't KO him. Final will be something like 116-112, 8 rounds to 4. The astounding thing about Pacman is he looks just as quick, if not quicker, in the final minute of the 12th round as he does in the first minute of the first round.
Margarito will be rehydrated up to 168-172 lbs. from his 150 weigh inIMO, which will slow him down late. I still think he looked gaunt yesterday, and he looked like a potato chip up there.
Hoping for a good fight!
Why the weird numbers?Quote:
