Yeah, not sure what's up with bookmaker and their $250 limit. I mean, I personally don't bet big enough to need a higher limit (biggest bet I ever made was $120 on Vitali Klitschko v Arreola), but I hope to eventually get there. Doesn't seem very professional.

Overeem is definately definately not going to lose. So 8% of $250 is still free money. I am not going to bet it, but someone out there will be thinking this.

I have 2 bookmaker accounts, one in my name and one in my brother's. Its not that big of a deal. I don't know why they have the limits, because you can just solicit a pal to open up an account for you, and fund it with cash.

I also have a 5dimes account and Bodog for this reason, which I only use on rare occasions. I always get the early odds on bookmaker, so the other accounts have nothing to offer me, other than being able to make bigger bets.

I don't really get it either, but I guess that's why I dont have my own sports book.

They put the 250 limit so someone doesnt get 5k down on a bad line .Bookmaker isnt very good at setting MMA lines so they jut put a line out they think is fair and put a 250 cap on it .Once they get some max wagers on the opening line the move it very fast until people quit betting it. 250 dollars x 5 or 6 bets is nothing to bookmaker to get info .Sportsbooks pay way more than that to linesmakers . Once the heavy action on one side dies down they know the line is right and they up the wagering limit

I see. Interesting. That makes sense, but still seems a little mickey mouse. I mean, Bodog occasionally is the first to open lines, but even when they do their limits are a good bit higher.

Which is why it would be interesting to see how the other books open if people could lay off destroying the bookmaker openers.

I got 5u on Sokoudjou @ -370. Minowa can only win freakshow fights (which I think might be pretty fixed).

I am considering Kawajiri as well.

Sokoudjou is going to pound his little midget head in by virtue of actually being a real fighter.

If Minowa "wins" somehow, the entire super hulk tournament is a complete work, which really wouldn't surprise me tbh.

You guys have me seriously freaked out now that the Sok fight is fixed.

I got screwed on the odds, his line is -280 now-- the yakuza is pouring in yen on Minowa. The fix is in.

Im really thinking about getting on Ishii here. Yoshida is an old timer now, and is smaller than Ishii. Yoshida has only had one fight in the last 12 months and 3 fights over the last 3 years, so combined with his age, and inactivity, I think Ishii has an advantage there.

The only thing that worries me here, is that Ishii is making his debut, but this is the new 'it" guy for Japanese MMA, so Im thinking they hand picked Yoshida for him.

They both have the Judo background, but Ill side with the Younger, bigger guy over the Older, experienced guy.

Ill post when I get a line from my guy, if Im betting this, but Im definatly leaning that way.

Just FYI, an olympic gold medal doesn't always mean everything.

I don't like to bet on the unknown quantity, but Ishii should win by superior judo. Yoshida only wins by grappling advantage, which he won't have. But Ishii has never fought before, he might gas out. He might crumble when he gets punched. I will wait until his next fight.

I wish I had my 5dimes funded. Although I am generally against parlays, and never recommend them, I can beef up my return on Sok by adding Mousasi and Overeem (both of which are almost guaranteed to win), without adding much (any) risk.

Agreed. Thats the main reason I still have not bet it yet. Im kind of up in the air. I usually get pretty good lines from my local guy, better than an online shop. Ill see what he gives me first, But Im thinking I get it in the -250 range.

Im reading on Sherdog that Ishii has been sick. This will obviously be a no play for me now.
