Do sportsbooks care if you win?

Maybe some of you guys can clarify this for me.

I've heard of some guys getting banned from books because they were winning too much, but if the losers pay the winners then they shouldn't care if you win or lose.

Thoughts on this? Anyone heard of players getting banned for winning too much on sportsbetting?

I never heard of that, but I could see them all the sudden, not taking action from a guy who is killing it.

Ive heard of local books putting a cap on how much a guy can bet though.

Yes I have heard of sportbooks banning players but most of the time they just cut their limits

The one sportbook that I have heard of banning a player is sportsinteraction. They sent him a email saying his account was closed .When he called they made him talk to security and they told him they could no longer book his action. They paid him all his money though

Most sportsbooks that get hit just limit you .5dimes and betjamica are the worst ones for this .I have heard from several people 5dimes cutting their limits to 25 dollars per bet and betjamica cutting players limits to 1 dollar per bet.

If you stick with thegreek or bookmaker this will never happen

You got to think of it from a books point of view. Would you rather have 50 winners and 50 losers and just pick up the juice or ban the 50 winners and keep just the 50 losing bettors around?

Yet another reason to have multiple books, I guess.

I can understand the logic of that, but I mean, that's not even what they go for is it? I mean, they intentionally set the lines to attract equal action on both sides and move the lines to make sure that happens. So it seems that looking at it that way, the winners are really their partners in a sense, providing a service that they need.

90% of books only want losers.I mean truthfully if you had 50 guys that won 1000 bucks every week and you had 50 guys that lost 1000 would you be happy collecting the 5000 in juice or would you be happier banning the 50 winners and collecting 55000 every week. These books are all businesses and most of them have shareholders so their main concern is how can they make the most money

Every book in vegas will limit you or tell you they cant book your bets anymore and every book except about 5 online books will do the samething.

Its not right but there nothing you can do

Bookmaker has the highest betting limits? I've always thought of their limits as being very low. Bodog's are always much higher.

Maybe for MMA but for football, basketball, boxing and baseball bookmaker and the greek are the big guys

In boxing bookaker usually has 2000 limits. In football its 5000 I think .Most books are afraid of MMA because they dont know much about it so thats why the limits are so low at most books

I know Bookmaker always throws up its initial lines at $250 and even after they increase them it's usually only to maybe $500.

Who do you go to if you want to make $20,000 bets?

Yeah thegreek does MMA but its usually 500 limits like everyone else.I just looked and thegreek has 25k limits on the NFL but 500 for MMA lol.

I think alot of it has to do with so many favorites win in MMA and books know it. I believe someday dogs will win more often and then books will raise their limits.

As for getting 20k down on a MMA fight I have no idea. You can probably get 1000-5000 down on a fight on matchbook but only a main event fight and you can get 500-1000 on just a regular fight.

20k might be impossible to get down on a fight unless you have 20 books and 10 local guys

Okay, well that's good info for 10 years down the road when I've built my empire and I'm not using $20 units.

I wonder what the limits are like for MMA in Vegas. . .

Also, as for favorites, I think it's estimated that in about 30% of fights the underdogs win . . . what more would they expect?

50% of underdogs win in football and basketball?

If that's the case then it seems you could just drop 1u on all the underdogs and score big!

I mean shit, the way I see it is that underdogs are the underdogs for a reason. . .

50% dont win but 50% of dogs cover the spread. Thats why favorites win more in fights because theres no spread.

If they made a spread for a fight then more dogs would win

    Oh, okay.

Still seems like if that's true then you could just drop 1u on all the dogs and come out ahead.

No because the payouts are the same as the favorite.

Re: Do sportsbooks care if you win?

They could do the samething for fights .They could make two fighters -120 each and then give the favorite a -1.5 or -0.5 round spread .Meaning the favorite would have to win on the cards 3-0 or 2-1 to win the bet.Of course I dont know how they would grade if the fight is a KO
