    Re: UFC 109 Discussion

    as soon as Sonnen came out as aggresive as he was, I was a little nervous, but Nate got up with about a minute or so, I thought he weathered the storm, now he can get to work. WRONG

    Takedown, ground and pound, Rinse and repeat.

    I was freaking out when Nate almost pulled off that gullitene late in the 3rd.

    Most money I ever lost betting MMA. Oh well.

    Saw this posted by someone on Sherdog. Found it to be rather poignant.

    Marqaurdt109 = Wall Street Banker

    You put all your money and faith in the guy - He loses convincingly - you're broke but he still walks away with a big bonus.

    shame.

    Coleman would have never won that fight but I still find it very odd he never once tried to take Randy down.

    Yeah, me too. Knowing how sub-prone Sonnen is, I was REALLY hoping he would tap or go to sleep.

    I was really surprised at how gassed Nate got after just one round. Going into the second he looked like he was about to fall over.

    It really sucks because when this fight was first announced I thought it was a GIFT to sports bettors everywhere and when the line came out I almost fell out of my chair. I thought it was a completely pointless fight that would be some easy money, especially considering Sonnen's performance in the second Filho fight and the Maia fight.

    I guess Sonnen is not Sonnen anymore. Now he's SuperSonnen.

    It's interesting that he's getting a title shot. I think Anderson would KO him or tap him, but I think there's a good chance that Sonnen (R) would put a serious beatdown on Vitor Belfort should he take out Anderson.

    Estima worked with Gracie and said the UFC newcomer was injured and unable to train.

    "His performance was nowhere near what we expected and what he expected," Estima said. "He had a lot of injuries in training. He hurt his rib and that stopped him training for a while. But he was very excited to do it and he put a lot of pressure on himself. It wasn't the best decision to fight."

    Braulio is awesome. He would not lie.

    Still, this would have been nice to know before the fight.
