If I was winning 90% of my bets, all I would be doing is betting. I am on board. I like boxing, I used to watch it more, before MMA.

What book do you use that carries lines for friday night fights? Bookmaker has fewer boxing lines than MMA lines by a lot.

Thegreek and 5 dimes have friday night fights and most ever fight thats on saturdays

I just checked and I have bet 18 boxing matches since August 2008 going 14-4 .Thats 78% not 90% that I guessed. That only equals out to about one a month .

Now I bet a few props or a huge underdog sometimes besides those just to make the fights more interesting but I dont track them at all because they are usually 10-30 dollar bets.
I'd bet more boxing if I wasnt the only one that was into boxing here but since everyone here is into MMA I tend to focus on MMA instead of boxing.

Of the 18 bets the average odds were -125 over the 18 plays . The four losses were:-290 ,-131,+200 and -125 juice so even when you loose you didnt get nailed with big juice for the most part (except for the -290)

Now of course if I start betting more fights I'm sure my % would go down but if I can averagge -125 juice thats fine

Do you think you could produce thos esame results on lesser known fighters?

like I looked at 5dimes' fights for this weekend, who are these people?

    honetly no i couldnt

I couldnt hit 78% with unkown fighters. If we started betting friday night fights and little saturday events we probably have to start laying higher juice that what I have been because up until title fights fights are usually set up for one guy to destory the other person.

But I start looking at boxing a little more .Maybe I wont start betting unkowns but maybe I'll just start betting more fights

Re: UFC on Versus 1: Discussion

Thanks for the heads up Scientist!!!

UFC on Versus 1 is gonna be great betting card!!!

5U on Jones - http://mmajunkie.com/news/18074/eliot-m ... part-i.mma - If you read this even Elliot Marshall praises him even though he is in the same weight class, and out of all the guys he trained with for this upcoming fight he singles out Jones....as does everyone who works with him. Vera is a total stoner whose best win really was over Mir when Mir was about 30% the fighter he is now coming off that wreck. If Jones could slam Hamill like that he can slam Vera like that easily. I get the feeling Jones is going to get his breakout performance here and finish Vera quickly.

5U on JDS - Gonzaga folds under pressure and has failed to get a huge win over anyone of significance other than CroCop who we know now is not the CroCop that terrorized Pride. Gonzaga has lost two times by TKO to Werdum who only has four KO/TKO's on his record. I see JDS getting the TKO here.

Possibly 5U on Kongo - Kongo should be able to win this fight with zero problems considering it should be a standup battle. The problem is that the odds are really bad (-412 on Bookmaker), and Kongo got dropped by the 1st punch Mir threw. I just have a bad feeling about it.

5U on Peirce - Pierce looked really strong against Fitch and almost pulled a huge upset in the 3rd and was on a tear before that. He is traveling around going to different camps and learning/sparring/rolling with many different people and camps. From what I have heard Rob Kimmons sticks to his local gym and is really a lower tier fighter in the UFC.

    5U on Bones
    5U on JDS
    Possibly 5U on Kongo
    5U on Pierce

    Welcome!

Don't let me see you in here without a Ninja again.

I think JDS will win as well, just not willing to bet on it (having not seen his takedown defense or his ground game).

As you know, I think Vera will beat Jones, or at least make it very competitive. So I can't justify a bet on Jones at -200 or whatever he is now.

I agree on the others though

I ran across something earlier that said Gonzaga was injured and wouldn't be getting his ass kicked by JDS.

Anyone else hear anything on that? I'm hoping it was just a rumor. . .

Just a heads up if you have not heard that Versus is back on Directv. Yay.

    My bets:

    6u on Kongo @ -340
    2u on Vera @ +210
    3u on Pierce @ -300 or better (go to 5u if -200)

When I originally went with Directv, Dish Network did not have HD channels. Now I am in a contract with them. I had Dish in the past, and I actually preferred the Tivo to the HD-DVR I have now, so I wanted Dish again. I will probably switch back in 9 months when my contract is up, now that they have the HD channels.
