1u on Werdum. Fedor's reign ends here.

At those odds, a Werdum play isn't the worst idea in the world, but I don't see a way he can win except for some ultra fluke shit.

Well he is the best grappler Fedor will have ever faced. He could win a top control special. Arona beat Fedor that way, and he not as big a man as Werdum.Originally Posted by SPX

You always go back to Arona. That shit was FOREVER ago. So far back at this point as to be virtually irrelevant.Originally Posted by MMA_scientist

I've never seen ANYTHING to impress me out of Werdum. Maybe the Vera fight. Sort of. I didn't expect to see Vera get outwrestled like he did, but whatever, Vera is no Fedor.
Fedor's reign may one day end, but not because of fucking Febricio Werdum.

Hate to admit it, but I agree that the value is on Werdum here. Fedor should win, but I think this line is reflecting Werdum being underrated. And let's not forget, it's been a while since Fedor fought and he's getting close to that point where you've got to worry about age. The guy does rely on his hand speed.
I agree, if I was to bet on Werdum it'd be because I'm gambling on Fedor having lost a step, not that I think Werdum is super threatening to him.Originally Posted by Svino

I think this line is reflecting good and honest men like ourselves being dicked out of a good bet.Originally Posted by Svino

This match is good for Fedor, he will win but I think Werdum has value, I think +500 and better I would take Werdum for a micro bet. I dont have Bodog or sportsbook though.
I expected Fedor to be around -500, which seems to be the standard line for fights like this, i.e. fights where there's a pretty big gap in skill set, but both fighters are still very competent.Originally Posted by zY|
This seems more like the line for Fedor vs James Thompson or some shit like that.

I think the Collossus would even beat Werdum.Originally Posted by SPX

Looks like Fedor's fighting Werdum and Cyborg at the same time.

A win over Bigfoot is nothing to sneeze at. Bigfoot has only lost 1 other fight.
He also beat the shit out of your lover Alistair Overeem. If I remember correctly making his cry uncle pretty quickly. He also beat Gonzaga and Aleks.
Werdum is a stud. Don't hate.
And whoever said Thompson would beat Werdum, GTFO and go back under your bridge.

I think Sherdog has him at 9. He has been in the top 10 since about 2006. Also SD has Bigfoot in the top 10.
Werum has wins over 3 current top 10 guys. I do not think he will beat Fedor, but I don't get why everyone is sleeping on him either. Its a legit fight and a very tough test for Fedor.

I know he has great Jitz, but I just cant see him subbing Fedor. Fedor was all up in Nog's guard with no problems, and I think he is savvy enough to stay out of trouble.
If Werdum gets on top, that could be a problem, but again, I think Fedor can stay out of trouble there. Werdum is going to have a hell of a time even getting him down IMO.
And he has no shot winning any part of the stand up. He got wrecked by JDS, and was in trouble standing with Big foot.
That said, there is no way that line should be where it is right now.
I agree he won't submit Fedor from guard, or probably at all. Werdum is not really a guard player, although that's where he subbed Overeem. He is more positional. But he is a much bigger man than Fedor. Werdum is every bit as big as Bigfoot (when they fought, he looked bigger to me). Werdum will probably have trouble getting him down, but Fedor has been taken down by lesser wrestlers. The JDS KO was lightning in a bottle, I don't expect Fedor to walk out there an nap him. Werdum usuallt has pretty good defense. He has a bad habit of trading though, and throwing wild kick combos, which probably isn't a good idea here.Originally Posted by IWS Zak
