Speaking of Judas Priest, Painkiller is pretty much the most metal song of all time.Originally Posted by SPX

I also like rock music, but to metal heads, it would probably sound like pop music. I don't buy it though. I own a lot of 90's rock though like Live and PJ and stuff. I still like Eddie Vedder- I have teh soundtrack to Into the Wild (great movie too if you guys have not seen it).
For popular music, I do like Jack Johnson. I started listening to that in like 2002. I am not going to drop it just because it is mainstream now.

Anyone here seen Antitrust? For some reason, I really love this movie.

I think this movie just kind of takes me back to the turn of the millenium. It didn't seem great at the time, but when I look back and the friends I had and what I was really up to, it was okay.Originally Posted by Luke

BTW speaking of Rachel Leigh Cook, I saw a bitch on the train today that looked A LOT like her.
She was actually one of the most beautiful girls that I've seen in a long time. I just stared at her.

I vastly prefer Claire Florlani to Rachel Lee Cook.
Also, that movie was totally forgettable for me. I watched half of it before I realized I had already seen it.

I actually love the movie. I'm sure a lot of it has to do with nostalgia. It reminds me of being 19 and watching it at my parents house with my girlfriend (who I had been with all through high school) and thinking how cool it would be to be a computer hacker.
It's funny how certain films can have vast significance for one person, while being nothing to someone else. I'm sure it is only partially to do with the film itself, but rather has to do with the surrounding circumstances.

Actually, in terms of computer movies, it's certainly one of the most realistic. Instead of creating their own OS as many movies chose to do, they use Linux, and the Linux commands are legit. Also, the use of IP addresses (not common knowledge as it is now) lended credibility.Originally Posted by Luke
I've heard that some of the code used in the movie is garbage--I can neither confirm nor deny--but I think that you'll be hard pressed to find a truly realistic computer film.

Never seen it. Shrug
And scientist, yes. 90s rock/alternative is pretty much the greatest music ever. Nirvana, stp, pumpkins, pearl jam, green day, alice in chains, etc etc ad infinitum. Pretty much everything in the first half of the decade. Love it.

I like Alice in Chains a lot, STP, PJ... never cared for Greenday though.Originally Posted by zY|
I like the genre, but there is only so much of it... since it is almost 20 years old now, it is a lot of listening to the same stuff. So I listen to it sparingly because I don't want to wear it out anymore.

I don't personally know enough about to metal to say if it's "accurate" though.
You should try "Anvil: The Story of Anvil". It's good, but depressing. Kind of like "This is Spinal Tap" crossed with "The Wrestler", but real.Originally Posted by zY|

And yes, thats pretty spot on. Notice how the black metal is all trem picking. That's how >90% of it is i'd say. I would argue that the power metal part is a bit more neoclassical aka 'shred', but its still pretty close if you're talking about cheesy bands like Dragonforce.
