I've always been kind of interested in Fitch/Penn tbh. But what happens to Ellenberger? He was supposed to fight Fitch.

Should have went another 4-5 seconds. Whats fucked up, is that after that 3rd round, dude is in the doghouse with Dana, where if that would have went another few seconds, Dana would have been singing his praises.

I do. It will be interesting to see if Fitch can get BJ down, and if he does, if he can stay out of a sub.

I actually think BJ has a good chance of employing the GSP plan, where he just keeps the fight on the feet and picks Fitch apart with superior striking.

Plus, I think we have a MORE MOTIVATED Penn at 170. We've known forever that that's really where his heart is. It's not at 155.

    Re: UFC 123 - Machida/Rampage

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Although once a top UFC lightweight contender, Tyson Griffin since has posted three consecutive losses.

The latest came Saturday on the untelevised preliminary card of UFC 123, where Griffin (14-5 MMA, 7-5 UFC) suffered a controversial split-decision defeat to Nick Lentz (20-3-2 MMA, 4-0-1 UFC).

And though Griffin now has suffered a trio of defeats, UFC president Dana White said the Xtreme Couture fighter won't be cut from the organization's roster.

White knows MMA judging has its problems and continually cautions fighters not to leave their fate in the officials' hands, but he's adamant Griffin got a raw deal.

"Tyson Griffin got [expletive] big time tonight," White said.

The bout was far from a barnburner, and both fighters continually stalled working for takedowns. But Griffin appeared the aggressor despite the judges' 29-28, 27-30 and 29-28 scores in his opponent's favor.

Prior to his recent three-fight skid, which also include a split-decision defeat to top contender Evan Dunham and a flash knockout to Takanori Gomi, Griffin went 7-2 in his first nine UFC fights and picked up five "Fight of the Night" bonuses and a "Submission of the Night" award.

Those bonus checks don't get to boring fighters, and White said such competitors get longer leashes when determining who gets their walking papers and who gets televised spots.

"You know how I feel," White told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com). "I like guys who come in and fight. I'd rather keep a guy who lost a dogfight than keep a guy who ran around in circles for three rounds and won."

More motivated? I dunno. I saw the same bj Penn last night. He tried to do the exact same thing to Edgar in his last fight. He just got thrown on his head. Fitch will be prepared and Fit h will win rather easily.

And if his heart is at 170 it's only because he doesn't have to work as hard to make the weight. I mean cmon, he had fuckin Rudeboy running his camp.

    Re: UFC 123 - Machida/Rampage

^^^ I honestly think he realizes that, whether right or wrong, the WW title is generally looked upon (especially by casual fans) as being more prestigious.

Also, he's always been one to challenge himself and go up in weight. I think it actually took him more work to move up to fight Lyoto than it would have to fight someone at 170.

I really think that BJ sees himself as some warrior with a great destiny. Like a "chosen one." Some of the things he said before Edgar/Penn II and the way he reacted immediately after the fight last night just drove home to me that he's really sincere about that.

More work? Maybe if you count all those hours he put in at the buffet. When he fought Lyoto he was as round as he is tall.

He's only at 170 because he got kicked out of his own weight class.

Motivated Penn and unmotivated Penn has become the new old vitor vs new vitor, and it's all nonsense.

Sure he overwhelmed and knocked out Hughes and it was awesome, but do you really see him doing that to Fitch? In retrospect it's really not too surprising. BJ has kicked Hughes ass for the majority of their three fights.

BJ can think whatever he wants, but its not really relevant to anything that happens in the cage.

Diego Sanchez thinks he's the chosen one too, but nobody takes him seriously.

If Fitch can't get BJ down, then how does he win?

And does BJ now have shitty TD defense because he got taken down by GSP and Edgar?

Fitch's takedowns aren't those hard-driving shots that seem to be his weakness. I actually think Kos's style is better built to get BJ to the ground than Fitch.

Yeah, dickhead, but obviously I was explaining why I feel that BJ is motivated by something other than food.

You never argue. You just throw out insults and irrelevant comments.

Try making a reasoned argument next time--or at least SOME time--and maybe we'll get somewhere.
