Huerta might be a good play @+205, I think he will do well in a 5 round fight. I also like Askren to win, but I don't know much about Good.

Good is really explosive, but Askren is going to blow through him IMO

Huerta seems undervalued to me, but I don't see a clear path to victory for him. He is a little behind in the striking and wrestling IMO, he has better subs, but probably not enough to catch Eddie.

I need to look at Good again. Did you do any research on Good?

I am thinking about Askren here as part of my new thing

Good is just an aggressive striker who hasn't really beaten anybody noteworthy. He hasn't fought since June 2009 either... I think Askren will be able to take Good down at will and keep him there. I don't see Good submitting Askren either. If Hornbuckle couldn't submit Askren, I don't think Good will either. Good will probably not be as aggressive as he usually will because you know his #1 priority in this fight is to avoid the takedown.

Also, I am never betting against a good wrestler again.

He can't handle Askren on the ground... flat out will not happen. The only question is if ben can get it there and keep it there. Good is really explosive though, which means he is probably going to get tired if he can't finish Askren off early. Did you get a look at Good's takedown defense? All the fights I have seen, he was the one looking for the takedowns.

Just depends who they are fighting. Chuck Lidell will still beat any wrestler that cannot outstike him... Hathaway might be the next wrestler slayer @ 170.

Lineup final, some new stuff here. Rick Hawn is a beast, olympic Judo guy with power in his hands. Reis/Taurosevicius is interesting too

    Bellator Welterweight Championship
    Lyman Good vs. Ben Askren

    Eddie Alvarez vs. Roger Huerta
    Wilson Reis vs. Deividas Taurosevicius
    Rick Hawn vs. LeVon Maynard
    Jamal Patterson vs. Tim Carpenter
    Tuan Pham vs. Nick Cottone

Real interested in the Reis-Taurosevicius line. I hope Taurosevicius is the healthy dog.

    Re: Bellator 33

^^ I am not super familiar with taurosevicius. I know he has some quality wins and has been facing stiff comp in the WEC. BUt what is his style all about? Isn't he mostly a sumission guy? He can't beat Reis on the mat.

To me this looks like a grappler/grappler matchup... with one guy being better at that element (Reis). But, like I said, I am not real familiar with Tauro...

    Re: Bellator 33

Tauro is a real tough grinder. I think he will have a strength advantage here. I could see him pushing Reis up against the cage and beating him up a bit while mixing in takedowns. He also can go a real tough 3 rounds without gassing. I could see Reis losing rounds 2 and 3 here. much of this opinion dependes upon the line. i think it is a real close fight. But to be honest i think i would give Tauro the edge.

“I’m going in there to finish him,” Huerta said. “I’m not going in there to play patty cake or to fight a technical fight. I’m coming in to fight. … I’m telling you this right now: I’m not holding anything back. From the moment they say go, we touch gloves -- it’s going to be on.”

“I feel like if Eddie wins, he ends up killing my career,” Huerta said. “I can’t take another loss. This is really personal for me. This is my life.”
I'm hoping Huerta gets this win. Very tough fight though, I'm not sure if the +200 is enough for a bet on him.

    Re: Bellator 33

After another brutal week I am betting Askren and Hawn here. If I can't get anything going, I am mailing it in for a while. I am losing too much money. I have given back almost all of my 2010 gains. I only bet to win, if I am not winning, I quit. I am going to go back to playing notional bets for a while until I get my steam back.

    So
    4u on Askren @ -255

    4u on Hawn/Askren to win 3.3
