I think Akiyama can beat him if he shows up in good shape with something resembling a gameplan. I don't know what the chances of that happening are though. Maybe he doesn't give a shit if he loses. I would think pride would make him train. I don't know if Dana would cut him, he is a big star in Japan. I would think they would keep him because of that. He also puts on great fights. Star + Good Fights = No cut. Most likely anyways. We'll see. I probably should have jumped on him at -180.

Imagine if Akiyama trains like hell and comes in and beats him. Nate would probably be undervalued from then on.

I really don't want to see Akiyama go, but if he loses to Marky Marqurdt (and I really think that he will) he'll be 1-3 in the organization. I think it will be very difficult for Dana to keep him.

It's not like he's been losing to Anderson Silva and Okami, either. He's lost to Leben and Bisping, and took an extremely narrow SD against Alan Belcher. Those guys are all good fighters, but they're not great fighters.

I really hope they DO keep him and then give him a fight against someone like Jason Day or some shit like that just to get him a win. But I really think this is Sexy's exit fight.

Rashad Evans' new manager MalkiKawa tells me he has a minor sprain in his knee, nothing to keep him out of UFC 128.

Jones opened at -160 on Bookmaker and immediately shot down to -195.

^^ I feel the same way. Jones has been dominant, but at the very least we know that he is not going to blow through Shogun. I actually still favor Shogun, but his ;ayoff does worry me. He looked like shit coming off a layoff last time.

Honestly I hope Shogun smashes him. The dude has started to believe his hype and has gotten way too big for his britches.

He's still really raw and his striking is still weak. And if he leaves his long monkey arm posted on the mat like he did against Vera, it will be on Shogun's mantle.

I wonder what will happen with Jones line..the hype is huge right now but you guys all sound like you will be betting Shogun. That makes me think the line will come back but the fight is 6 weeks away so will there be enough time for the JJ hype to die down????

Shogun @+155 is tempting. The thing is, I thought Rashad would beat Shogun. Can Jones keep the constant pressure and hold Shogun down like I thought Rashad could without getting subbed?

I will be on JJ. Shogun may sub him from his back, since he will definatly be on his back.On the feet, Shogun has him, but he will be taken down instantly. i will be waiting for a better line though.

I agree with all of this. I feel like most things you could say about Shogun vs. Jones, one could also have said about Lil Nog vs. Bader.
