Fitch doesn't gas, story does. Fitch has better jiu jitsu, kicks, slightly better wrestler and is more experienced. Story has better hands, more athletic and more upside. Both are tough as nails. I think fitch would beat story if they fight.

Fitch to see who is the Fitchiest wrestler in the land.
I think that Fitch dominated Alves, while Story eeked it out. But I do agree that Story's hands are better.

It would be an interesting fight.

Fitch took Alves down over and over and over without any problems ,Story had a lot of problems getting Alves down . I'd like to see a Story-Ellenberger rematch with the winner getting Fitch since Penn obviously doesnt want Fitch again

Vandelay is the winner on the straight picks, getting every fight correct but one.

    Unanimous IWS picks:

    Barao, Tibau, McDonald, Stann.

The IWS hive mind is 7-0 (IIRC)

Win or lose at UFC on Versus 4, I hope we see Anthony Johnson fight Thiago Alves.

    That really is pretty interesting.

We almost lost on MacDonald, though.

Hendricks/Ellenberger and Story/Fitch is what I would like to see. Or maybe Shields in there too. We got to weed out some of these guys. They are basically interchangeable. Fitch did get him down more, but Alves had had two fights with Fitch to prep him for Story's tactics. I think it would be a close fight and boring as hell.

    Fitch would probably win.

But I didn't necessarily think it was a ridiculous notion to say that Ellenberger would beat Story.

I wouldnt mind those two match ups . Shields has been calling out Penn so he might end up fighting him

FTR, I said I thought Mir was a better grappler.
    That was also in 2003.

Story beat Ellenberger in 2008, which still has some relevance to today IMO.

I any event, I would probably pick Fitch to win a decision over Story as well... I was just saying, he is extremely Fitchy in his gameplans in the last 2 fights.

So did Roy Nelson look like shit tonight or did Mir look really good? That was the first time (I think) that we saw Mir in more of a "complete" fight instead of just a beatdown.

Obviously 2003 is a lot farther back than 2008, but that's still a good bit of time, especially when talking about these young guys who are still improving at a rapid rate.

Besides, I never saw the fight. For all I know the judges fucked up.

Roy looked like shit. Maybe this fight will tell Roy you can't come in to a fight looking like "the people of walmart" and expect to win a fight against a decent opponent

Maybe some of both. Nelson is in the big leagues now. He actually holds 0 wins over top fighters. That's right. He has never beaten anyone that could be considered a top fighter in the heavyweight division.
