    You're a fag.

And besides, you like to play intellectual so much that I figured you'd be interested in this unique element of American history.

The funny thing is that pretty close to being accurate. I really don't give a shit either. I talked to police and a lawyer today, everything sounds good. Police told me that all the equipment should be returned, and that charges may not even be filed, lawyers said case is very beatable. We will see. But regardless, I don't see my bro doing much time. I'll have to cash out my funds, but will be back in a few months. It will all work out.

^^ that is hilarious. You should talk to X and you guys can formulate a plan to live in the wild and overthrow the government, unabomber style.

The only problem is that now I am picturing you as a hillbilly pot farmer from the movies. Overalls with no shirt and a machine gun tower to watch your crop.

Edmann, I am ready to get back to the topic at hand here.

Do you have a budget? What level do you need to get your bankroll at to make this happen?

I have no immediate plan to do it. I have been reading a lot about it mostly to fantasize about it. It's kinda like mental masterbation. I know I'm not going there anytime soon but it makes me feel good to think I can. Right now I have a pretty decent job and no degree. If I leave I would have trouble coming back and finding another job. I SHOULD go back to school and get a degree. I was not really kidding about the nursing thing, it is basically the smartest plan I can come up with at this point in my life. However I could def go down there after school or at some point during school I could take a hiatus(if I went to school and could get a leave of absence from work).

If I did it (by OJ Simpson): I am not sure what I need. The website I posted has a huge amount of info about costa rica. It would depend on what I want to spend and what the laws about renting property would be like at the time. I don't know if I can rent all the same property ticos rent out or if I would be confined to a Hotel/vacation rental thing. I don't want to pay gringo prices. I don't know what betting limits are like in the casinos there nor do I know what lines are available. I tried to email a guy in CR to find out but I have gotten no response. I would think that I should be able to bet whatever I want, most of these sites we bet with are based out of Costa Rica so it shouldnt be a problem.

A lot of it will rely on what type of gambling skill I have. If I can maintain what I have been doing for the past couple of months I could spend a couple months down there easy if I had 5-10 grand on me. I had 2k at the beginning of this year and I am up a little over 2k. About 110 percent return.

If I had 10k on me I could live off the winnings + the 10k. I don't really need to live off the winnings completely I could just use them to take care of most of the expenses. It would be cool to do it for a month or two. Maybe a month would be reasonable just to see how it is and have an extended vacation.

I'd definitely say to try it for a month before making any big commitments. The possibility that you might get down there and think it sucks, or get bored, is very real. Or you might get malaria and decide that it's something you don't ever want to experience again. There are a lot of considerations.

    Problem solved: http://www.4icu.org/cr/

    Nursing school in Costa Rica.

Since my dreams are dead, I was really hoping you were seriously going to do it so I can live vicariously through your international escapades.

Don't be a pussy. You will find another job, quit and go to CR.

Side note though, you are not going to to get 200% annual return regularly. You definitely cannot count on that. It is possible of course, but not without your risk of ruin (ROR) being way too high. Either that or you are a genius and the greatest gambler of all time.

I don't think that is too crazy. 200 percent return.

ok. if you started with $1000 and you quadrupled it every year (doubling it every six months, which is even less than your current return) you would have over $1,000,000 in less than 5 years. If you expected to keep up your current rate of doubling it every 4 months, you could start with $1 and in 6 years, you would have almost $3,000,000. If you started with the current $2000 you have, you would already be to $16000 this time next year... and $128,000 the next year. Bottom line, it just is not possible to continue to double your money every 4 months... but if it is, then, you are going to be very very wealthy and you need to share your methodology with us.

You can then use the sweet line from Limitless "I don't have delusions of grandeur, I have an actual formula for grandeur." Matter of fact, I am about to make that my signature.

It's all true. It would be extremely difficult to keep that up without crashing out eventually because you're way overbetting your bankroll and making risky bets. When I first started betting, after a little hump I had to get over I did really well for a while. At one point I was up about 50% after 4 or 5 months. Then shit went downhill big time. I still finished that year with a profit, but it was only about 8 units.
Now this year I had an extremely rough start and we're almost 5 months in and I'm still playing catchup.

All I'm saying is that when you have a really good run, be thankful but don't expect it to be the norm.

But as Scientist said, if you figure out a way to do it reliably, then do share it with us. We'd all like to know.

yeah, I am not totally ruling it out. I have seen a couple of different systems that it would be plausible. But I don't think it would work at higher stakes. That is the problem, when your bankroll grows, you turn conservative. I think I told you about the guy that did the "turning $100 into $1500" in a year thread. It worked... and he could probably replicate a similar system at least much of the time. But the issue is trying to turn that $1500 into $22,500, even though it is theoretically the same, definitely changes the psychology of it all (and the logistics, since a lot of books won't take a bet that big). But I like to do little side projects like that too, because I definitely do not rule out the possibility that there are people who figure some shit out.

I shoot for a 100% return every year, +50u, but really, I don't see that happening very often. I think a more realistic goal is a 50%, +25u though... and even that is only possible because of my 50u bankroll. When my stack gets bigger, I will probably go back to a 100u bankroll, and then I will be looking at 25% growth, maybe up to 50% if I have a good year. Still, even if you get 20% annually, you are beating the shit out of any other investment in the world by a mile.
