Really surprised to see Brock +135.

Line guesses on Fitch/Hendricks? And Grant/Volkmann is a real interesting fight..Grant looked great against a wrestler in Roller. How good are Nijem's takedowns?

who do you guys favor in the brock/overeem fight? I guess I favor Overeem. Much better striker, good chokes, equal strength and decent takedown defense.

I kind of favor Brock, if he gets one TD, Ubereem will probably get tired.

I'm taking Overeem. Brock is using Pat Barry solely for his sparring striking? Overeem has faced, sparred and beaten much more credible opponents. I can see Brock taking down Overeem but I think Overeem can take Brock down too honestly. Overeem's experience will play a huge factor. But one thing's for sure: whoever gets tired first will lose and lose horribly.

I think if Brock can get the TD train started early on then he could definitely win. Like, if his very first takedown is successful, that might be all he needs. But if not then I guess he's fucked.
    I heart cock

Unless he can go all Jake Shields and chain them to tire Overeem out. Once Reem's gas tank runs out, assuming it goes on that long, things could turn around quickly for Brock. That said I think Reem takes it. Brock reacts in the worst possible way to being hit hard and Reem is nothing but explosive strikes.

Yeah, it's basically a gamble of: If Brock gets hit in the face once kind of hard, it's probably over. If Brock can get inside and work for a TD, Ubereem will probably get tired and get beat up. He was gassed against Werdum and they weren't really doing anything.

I'm thinking the same thing. Werdum was posing half assed takedowns from way outside and feeble attempts at pulling guard before he had a good hold on Reem. Brock will be pressing on him and making him really work to fend off the takedown. I think if Brock can keep Reem busy and against the fence for a whole round he should be able to take over in the second round.

I think there are questions about both guys. I slightly favor Brock I guess.

I would favor Brock if he didn't react so badly to getting hit hard. With his poor defense it's less and less likely he can fully stop Overeem from landing on him. Any time he's not pressing Reem against the fence is a time he's at major risk of getting rocked, sent running, and potentially on his back getting pounded on again.

I mean, he has defeated guys that can hit before. I think it is a little bit of an overreaction.

There shouldnt be any question on whether Brock can get Reem down or not.

I don't think it is really. Who has he fought that can hit as hard as Cain or Carwin? Mir has shown the ability to hit hard at times but never quite so devastatingly as Carwin. Aside from Mir you have Herring who had the takedown defense of Kyle Maynard that night. I would say Overeem hits just as hard if not harder than both Cain and Carwin, he will also be looking to land knee's which Brock has never had to deal with like this before. Barry is going to be helpful to a degree in dealing with the technique level itself but there's no accounting for Overeems raw power behind everything. The guy headhunts quite a bit, and he loves to load up.

Well Cain has never really shown any power before then, and he did survive the Carwin shot. Mir has shown just as much power as Cain- and really Randy has dropped HW's before too and so has Herring.

That combo Cain put on Minotauro was devastating. Randy dropped Tim Sylvia who wasn't expecting a punch to open up. Mir has shown just as much power as cain when he's 280lbs fighting Cheick Kongo. But Mir has never shown Carwin/Cain type power other than that shot on Kongo which he landed with his eyes closed. This is still a new breed of animal for Brock.
