    Week 3

NY Giants @ Philadelphia Eagles UNDER 48

Big game early for the NFC East here, as each team is battling injuries to key players and looking to get their first division win of the year. The Giants should look to get their rushing attack going against a Eagles defense that has allowed 5.31 yards a carry (31st in the NFL), as they will need to not only keep Phillys offense off the field, but try to compensate for a poor start in 3rd down conversions to start the year ( converting just 24%, 29th in NFL) with more managable 3rd and shorts. The Eagles offense will need to rush the ball to keep the Giants line from knocking out Vick. Going to try and buck the trends for the over and look for an old school NFC East Slobberknocker

    Reg Season 5-3 (+2.59)
    NFLx 8-3 (+5.04)

Tony Romo is a hero again! After wearing a goat tag after week 1, Romo was able to come back and lead his team to victory after suffering rib and lung injuries at San Francisco last week. Word is he will be taking a shot for the pain prior to this evening's showdown with the Redskins, and if he lasts another at the half, as well as wear a protective vest to help protect his injured ribs. (this has got to impact his ability to move and throw the ball downfield). Romo is not the only Cowboy banged up...

Wide receiver Dez Bryant (thigh), running back Felix Jones (shoulder) and kicker David Buehler (groin) are questionable; cornerback Terence Newman (groin), cornerback Mike Jenkins (shoulder), center Phil Costa (knee), guard Bill Nagy (neck) and linebacker Anthony Spencer are probable; and wide receiver Miles Austin (hamstring), guard Derrick Dockery (knee/leg) and cornerback Orlando Scandrick are out.

    Redskins Defensive Coordinator on Romo:
“Well, you think about it: He’s not allowed to hit him in the head. And he can’t hit him below the knees. So he’s only got one place you can hit him. It’s such a shame he’s hurt.”

Games in the NFL are oftened decided in the trenches. Much love is given to the "skill" positions, but wins and losses are typicaly decided by the big fat guys up front, and Romo has not been helped out much by his line this year, being hit 25% of every pass attempt this year.

The Cowboys have a young offensive line (start 2 rookies), and they will have a big order this evening, not only trying to keep Romo from getting killed, but also opening up some holes in the line for a Dallas team that has struggled so far to rush the ball (ranked 32nd, 2.27 yds/carry). After 2 games, the Redskins rank #1 in defensive 3rd down %, allowing 4 conversions in 19 tries. Tony Romo has not had success against Redksin defenses in the past, averaging 172 yards a game thru the air in 11 games with 13 TDS and 7 INT, going 5-6 SU in the process. Long yardage on 3rd downs is a recipie for disaster against this Redskins defense (and Romos well being).

I am taking a healthier Redskins Team on the road this evening to spoil the Cowboys home opener.

    Washington +4 (-120)
