Yeah, I was glad to see it like that. I would have been bored with a bunch of chase scenes. I thought the scene of him driving was plenty to let us know, okay he is a driver. I do wonder about his backstory though, how did he get so badass? I am sure there is some signifigance to his scorpion jacket and his scorpion and frong story, but I don't know what it is.

The way I heard the story--and this was actually pretty recently--was as an Islamic parable.

A scorpion is on a riverbank and in danger of drowning. A woman goes to help the scorpion, but every time she tries to rescue it, it stings here.

Finally a man comes along and says, "Why are you trying to rescue that vile creature? Do you not see how it stings you?"

The woman responds, "How can I blame the scorpion for doing what's in his nature? I am a woman and doing what's in my nature; he is a scorpion and is doing what's in his."

Or something like that. . . So a little different, but the same shit.

No, I read that convo. I actually got a good laugh out it, and recall the monster thing now. I thought it was that thing that pops out Jack Burton's semi at the end of Big Trouble in Little China (a movie I used to watch daily in Jr. High, and that I still love). If you say something bad about BTLC, you are my enemy for life.
