Martin Kampmann vs Jake Ellenberger, 5 rounder
Martin Kampmann vs Jake Ellenberger, 5 rounder
That should be a good fight. Ellenberger probably wins, but Kamp knows how to find ways to win.
I heart cock
He knows how to find ways to lose too.
Triple-six killers in this motherfucker runnin shit
Kampmann wouldn't have found a way last time out if Alves didn't have the fight IQ of a drunken homeless man. Alves was winning that fight pretty soundly with only 50 seconds to go and had Kampmann on the ropes.

In a 3 round fight I would give the edge to Ellenberger. In a 5 round fight...Kampmann.
Assuming it goes the distance, yes Kampmann has the advantage. But who's to say Ellenberger doesn't just beat him into a living death within the first couple of minutes?

60% of his losses were by knockout. He has terrible striking defense once he gets hurt. He backs up with no angles and keeps his chin up high. Ellenberger hits every bit as hard as Nate Marquardt and Paul Daley do.

Saying "60% of his losses were by knockout" is kind of disingenous, though. First, one of those was a doctor stoppage. Should that even count? Only 2 of his 4 UFC losses were by knockout--technical knockout, at least. So discounting the doctor stoppage he has been knocked out two times in 24 fights, 14 of which were in the UFC.

He was also on the ropes against Alves and the ref likely would have stepped in if Alves had just kept on throwing strikes. He got rocked and wobbled by Diego Sanchez, he just does not react well to being hit hard which is exactly what Ellenberger is going to do to him.

I agree that his defense sucks. But I disagree that the Alves fight was close to being stopped, and I also think that if anything, the fact that he has taken so many shots but has so few (T)KO losses tells me that his chin is actually pretty good.

Not shit to bet really...unless I decide to watch a whole season of TUF. I guess I like Kampmann at those odds.
I like finalist No. 2 at -150 or better
