IVe been looking through Meins past victories and they have been somewhat decent. He's still young at 23 years old. I initially wanted to bet him big but maybe I was underestimating Brown and overestimating Mein. I think Mein wins but I don't want to get all hyped up on him. He started fighting when he was 16 and all but Brown is tough.

Anyone have a breakdown for this one?

best underdog? Thompson, Nijem, Starks? I think all 3 could win.

Maybe a little. It's not like if Gil won if would be a GSP/Serra kind of a upset. I mean, I wouldn't bet Bendo at -500, for instance. But I do expect him to be a little better everywhere.

Out of that list, I'd say Thompson. I also think Larkin, Brown and perhaps even Bowling have a shot here.

Like X said I wouldn't be outright shocked if Gil managed to pull it off somehow. But Bendo is bigger, stronger, faster, probably a better wrestler, and probably the better striker. This probably looks alot like Gil vs Crusher 1 except Gilbert isn't as good in the clinch as Bendo is.

I'm really curious about their stand up. I think Bendo's standup is really solid but not excellent. This is probably the area where I think they are most evenly matched and if Gil is going to surprise us it's going to be by showing us he has better boxing.

On the ground, I think it's all Bendo. Better wrestling and much better subs.

Gil's best chance is to draw Bendo into a brawl, but I don't think he's going to be able to. Their most even area is striking but I think Bendo's kicks are the difference here. Gilbert's problem is going to be keeping Bendo from clinching him up and taking him down, especially since his best shot is to get wild and brawl with Benson.

anyone like Viana ? his tdd looked good in his first ufc fight and hes probably the better striker. he hits hard and pretty fast too. i also like thompson but i hear hes been shooting movies in hina and have a short training camp for this fight. i like Gil and wont be surprised if he wins. he can make it a close fight by striking with henderson and sneak in tds.

Yeah, I think Benson has suspect T3D to be honest, but I think he wins a close decision. I don't think it will be dominant at all.

I absolutely LOVE Carmont over Larkin.

You guys will think I am crazy but Benavidez and the guy with the long and weird last name will be a close fight.

I'm not sure I believe that. Uyenoyama got taken down and controlled by Phil Harris, Benavidez is going to have a field day with him.

Why? I've only seen larkin vs lawler and lawler looked kinda apathetic in that one.

I think Benenvidez will just keep it standing and outstrike him. I don't think he will roll the dice on the mat with him, though on the mat, I think it could go either way.
