Should be a decent fight

Former light heavyweight champion Lyoto Machida will square off with surging contender C.B. Dollaway in a 185-pound clash on Dec. 20.

The UFC’s Brazilian branch announced the bout on Wednesday. The middleweight matchup will likely serve as the headliner for the card, which is expected to take place at the Jose Correa Arena in Sao Paulo. No other bouts have been announced for the event.

Machida, 36, came up short in his bid for middleweight gold on July 5, dropping a five-round verdict to Chris Weidman at UFC 175. “The Dragon” was victorious in his first two 185-pound appearances, knocking out Mark Munoz with a first-round head kick last October before outpointing Gegard Mousasi on Feb. 15.

Dollaway has won four of his last five in the Octagon since 2012, garnering triumphs against Jason Miller, Daniel Sarafian, Cezar Ferreira and Francis Carmont. His only defeat during that time was a contentious split-decision setback against Tim Boetsch at UFC 166.
