Complimentary CFB Pick for October 25th, 2014
Game: Syracuse Orange @ Clemson Tigers
Time: Saturday 10/25 7:00 PM Eastern
Pick: Clemson -14.5 (-110) at Bovada
The Clemson Tigers still have just a single loss, and losing to the #2 ranked team in the country isn't so bad. They still have a shot for a big Bowl game, or even a shot at the Final 4. The Tigers have held Boston College, Louisville, and NC State to an average of 10 points per game in their last three, and have been playing great defense. Syracuse is not much of a threat offensively, so I think they are going to have some trouble topping that 10-point mark, while at the same time they have allowed five opponents to score 26 points or more against them, so I think this line is coming up a bit short. The Tigers have been extra strong of late at home where they sport a 5-1 ATS mark, and with an inexperienced offense Syracuse could be a bit overwhelmed as they have not played here. The Cuse is 0-6 ATS the past three seasons when facing a great team on the road (a team outscoring opponents by 10+ points per game). Meanwhile, under Dabo Swinney, the Tigers are 30-16 ATS vs. conference opponents and 13-5 ATS as a favorite in the 10.5 to 21 point range. Lay the points on Clemson.

Pick Analysis:
Money move of the week - as the Sharps ponded the Tigers on the opener showing the odds makers made a big mistake on the number posted here. Some books opened this line as low as 14 and it’s now up to 19 - Gamecocks way outmanned here and an Auburn squad coming of their first loss of the season explodes the scoreboard in this spot. Gamecocks are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games after allowing more than 200 yards rushing in their previous game. Gamecocks are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games overall. Tigers are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 conference games. Tigers are 10-1 ATS in their last 11 home games. Auburn the play here.

John Ryan SportsGame: Ohio State University at Penn State Oct 25 2014 8:00PM
Prediction: Penn State
Reason: 50* graded play on Penn State as they take on Ohio State in BIG Ten Conference action set to start at 8:00 PM ET. The simulator shows a high probability that PSU will lose this game by fewer than 11 points and has a reasonable shot at a major upset win on national TV. Given this favorable projection, I will suggest making this a combination wager consisting of a 21* play on the line and a 4* play using the money line. Supporting this graded play is a proven system posting a 45-14 mark using the money line for 76% winners and has made 32 units/unit wagered. Play against a road team using the money line (OHIO ST) that is an excellent offensive team scoring >=34 PPG and is now facing an excellent defensive team allowing <=16 PPG and after a playing a game where 60 total points or more were scored. Here is a second money line system that has gone 22-6 for 79% winners and has made 24.4 units/unit wagered since 2008. It has averaged a +140 DOG play as well. Play on a home team using the money line (PENN ST) that is a struggling rushing team averaging 3.25 or less rushing yards/carry and after allowing 75 or less rushing yards last game. Of the many projections, one shows that PSU will gain between 7.0 and 7.5 yards per pass attempt. In past games, PDSU is a solid 12-4 against the money line (+8.3 Units) when they gain 7 to 7.5 net passing yards/attempt since 1992. PSU will be able to get the passing game going with bubble screens, quick slants, and crossing routes that in turn will open up the space between the tackles for the ground game to succeed. I also think the no-huddle will be used at key times by PSU when the OSU defensive front starts to get gassed and for PSU to not allow a defensive substitution. Happy Valley at night is not a friendly environment for opposing teams to come into and overcome. The stadium seats 106K fans ranking third largest in all of football and also makes that population base the third largest city, so to speak, in PA behind Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. So, there are more people in that stadium than all but two cities in the entire state. This is a game that will be hard fought in the trenches and a game that PSU can win.
