I think there are a lot of things we'd do in certain situations that we don't realize we'd do unless we were in them.

The other thing to consider as well is that if in fact he was under the influence of something in that moment, then he probably made decisions that he wouldn't had made while sober.

I mean, do you KNOW that if you were under the influence of a drug that you would make the some moral decisions that you would make otherwise? That's what drugs do. They fuck with your mind.
