The Minnesota Vikings’ will be hosting the New York Giants at U.S. Bank Stadium on Monday Night Football. The Vikings are coming off an incredibly impressive victory over the Carolina Panthers but after Atlanta crushed them, maybe Carolina is not that impressive.
The Giants come to town with what should be a very strong offensive attack. The three-headed receiving monster of Odell Beckham Jr., the returning Victor Cruz, and rookie Sterling Shepard might be the best receiving trio the Vikings see this season, and if the improved Giants’ offensive line can keep Eli Manning upright, they could cause some issues for the Vikings’ secondary. On the other hand, the Vikings’ offensive line could have some issues keeping Bradford on his feet in the face of a very good Giants pass rush. Olivier Vernon, Jason Pierre-Paul, and Damon Harrison have keyed a defensive resurgence for the Giants up front, and if the offensive line can’t pick things up significantly, Bradford is going to take some shots. The Vikings' offense isn't very potent and their offense will be shocked with what they see tonight from this Giants defense. Eli Manning’s shown there isn’t a stage that’s too big for him throughout his career, and he’s come through with some epic road performances like the NFC Championship game against Green Bay. Thus, you can expect Manning to have some impressive moments against Minnesota. New York certainly has a chance to keep the game close, if not win outright, potentially playing in a low-scoring affair that could finish well below the over/under of 43 points. The Giants have won two of their first three games because of their defense and the additions they made in free agency. New York ranks 10th in yards allowed and 11th in points allowed, and they’ll be going up against an offense that hasn’t been overly impressive. The Vikings couldn’t get anything going on the ground without Peterson in Week 3, but Minnesota’s offensive line has been brutal, and it might struggle against a Giants defense that’s second in yards allowed per carry. Finally, this just in, the Sam Bradford-helmed offense is actually setting records for being arguably the worst offense of a 3-0 team since the merger. Taking the points offered with the Giants is a good bet to cash.
