5-unit Play Take #921 Los Angeles Angels (-110) over Texas Rangers (8:05pm EST) The Los Angeles Angels are going for it. The Halos have been hanging around in the AL Wild Card race for most of the season, and they decided to give themselves a boost by adding Justin Upton and Brandon Phillips yesterday in two separate trades. Those guys are going to vastly upgrade the lineup and I think it will give the current players a mental lift as well. Mike Trout will no longer have to do it all himself. Today they head to Arlington to take on the Rangers. Texas is hanging on for dear life in the playoff picture, but I just don't think they have enough to get there. Trading away Yu Darvish may come back to haunt them as they aren't eliminated yet. Tyler Skaggs and Cole Hamels take the mound in this matchup. Hamels is obviously the better pitcher, but the gap isn't as big as it appears. Skaggs is underrated and has the ability to dominate when he's on. He's been hurt for the better part of 2017, but I think his future is bright. I think the Angels get the job done today after adding two big pieces.
4-unit Play Take #924 Minnesota Twins (-105) over Kansas City Royals (8:10pm EST) I hate counting out the Royals because they never seem to die, but I think they are done as far as 2017 goes. They are now 4.5 games out of a wild card spot with several teams ahead of them. One of the teams they are chasing is their opponent today in the Twins. Minnesota has won four straight and has temporarily grabbed the lead for the second wild card spot. They're not getting much love from the linesmakers, but I really like how Minnesota's young players have developed throughout the season. They are clearly a much better team now than they were earlier in the season, as the youngsters have gotten better with more at bats. Take the Twins today at home.

Our selection is on the Minnesota Twins
The Twins have won 4 games in a row and we believe they make it 5 tonight. The starting pitchers for tonight’s game are for the Royals RH Jason Hammel (6-10, 4.76 ERA) and he faces the Twins RH Dillon Gee (1-1, 3.53 ERA) The Twins have owned Hammel this year as he has an 0-2 record with a 9.45 ERA in 3 starts this year against the Twins. Things have not been much better for Hammel of late. In his last 3 starts he is sporting a 5.30 ERA. As for Gee, since coming to the Twins in the beginning of August he has had 6 appearances and has a solid 3.18 ERA with a WHIP of 1.01. Tonight will be his third start for the Twins and he is chomping at the bit to go after his former team in the Royals. We believe the way he has been pitching of late and the extra emotion he will have going against his former teammates should propel him to a quality start. The Royals have lost six of their last seven games coming to Minnesota tonight and the fact that the Royals are 1-6 in the last 7 meetings in Minnesota just solidifies our position.
So let us get the job done with the Minnesota Twins.

Our selection is on the Seattle/Oakland game OVER 9 1/2
      LISTED PITCHERS: Manaea/Leake
The Seattle Mariners come home from a long road trip, which sees them now 4 1/2 games back of a playoff position. Tonight they face a picture they’ve already seen three times this year in the Athletics LH Sean Manaea (9-8, 4.55 ERA) Two of those games have been in Seattle and the Mariners have scored 7 runs in 12 innings against Manaea. However, Manaea has just been brutal in his last three starts sporting an 8.74 ERA with a real ugly WHIP of 1.942. We see Seattle having their way with the LH tonight. The Mariners are starting their newest acquisition in Mike Leake (7-12, 4.21 ERA) Leake came over from the Cardinals where he has been pitching terrible of late. In his last three starts he has an 11.30 ERA with a WHIP of 1.745 coming from the National League to the American League we believe is going to be a real problem for Leake. The way he has been pitching of late it to be a long night for the 8 year veteran. Backing our selection is the fact that the Over is 8-1 in Manaea’s last 9 starts overall and the fact that the Over is 5-1 in Mariners last 6 games following a loss.
So let’s get the job done with the Seattle/Oakland game OVER 9 1/2 runs.

4 Unit Play. Take #142 Eastern Michigan +14 over Charlotte (6:30 PM, Friday, September 1)

The Eastern Michigan Eagles will look to open up their 2017 season with a win when they take on the Charlotte 49ers at Rynearson Stadium in Ypsilanti, MI on Friday night. The Eagles have posted a perfect 4-0 ATS record in their last four Friday night games and they have that same 4-0 ATS record in their last four games versus a team from Conference USA. They have also covered the number in seven of their last nine games played on an artificial surface and they are a lights out 5-1 in their last six non-conference games. The 49ers, on the other hand, have struggled bit in the spot they are in here tonight as they have failed to cover the number in five of their last six non-conference games and they are an awful 6-14-2 ATS in their last 22 games overall. Throw in the fact that Eastern closed out their 2016 season going 9-2 ATS in their last eleven games and we'll lay the points with them here in a game that we wouldn't be shocked to see them win by 20 at home on Friday night.

2 Unit Play. Take #145 Navy -9.5 over Florida Atlantic (8:00 PM, Friday, September 1, ESPN U)

We believe that Lane Kiffin is going to able to eventually turn things around in Boca but we don't think this is going to happen overnight. The Midshipmen are going to run the ball a lot and FAU had one of the worst run defenses in the country last year. They are also 0-4 ATS in their last four non-conference games and they have failed to cover the number in eleven of their last thirteen games overall. Navy, on the other hand, has been pretty good in the spot they are in here on Friday as they have gone an excellent 4-1 ATS in their last four games versus a Conference USA team and they are a perfect 5-0-1 ATS in their last six September games. Throw in the fact that FAU is just 3-12-1 ATS in their last sixteen home games and we're laying the points here with the Middies to get the road win and cover in Florida on Friday night.

2 Unit Play. Take #148 Wisconsin -27.5 over Utah St (9:00 PM, Friday, September 1, ESPN)

Wisconsin has posted a 4-1 ATS record in their last five games played in the month of September and they have gone an excellent 11-4-1 ATS in their last sixteen games overall going back to the end of the 2015 season. The Aggies, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here on Friday as they have gone an awful 2-5 ATS in their last seven non-conference games and they are 0-4 ATS in their last four road contests. Throw in the fact that Utah St has also failed to cover the number in fourteen of their last seventeen games overall and we're going to lay the points here with the Badgers in a game that our numbers have as a blowout in Madison on Friday night.

4 Unit Play. Take #149/150 Boston College vs Northern Illinois Under 51.5 (9:30 PM, Friday, September 1, CBS Sports Network)

Two teams that have been trending to the under in the spot they are in here tonight will meet when the Boston College Eagles hit the road to take on the Northern Illinois Huskies at Huskie Stadium in Dekalb, IL on Friday night. The Eagles have posted a perfect 7-0 record to the under in their last seven games where they faced a team from the MAC and they have gone an excellent 6-2-1 to the under in their last nine Friday night games. The Huskies have been an under team as well in the spot they are in here tonight as they have stayed under the total in four of their last five home games and they closed out their 2016 season going 4-1 to the under. Throw in the fact that Boston College is a lights out 29-10 to the under in their last 39 non-conference games and 42-17-1 to the under in their last 60 road contests and that's where we'll have our play as we expect points to be at a premium in Illinois on Friday night.

4 Unit Play. Take #151 Colorado St +3.5 over Colorado (8;00 PM, Friday, September 1, Pac-12 Network)

The Colorado St Rams will be out for a bit of revenge when they take on the Colorado Buffaloes at Sports Authority Field in Denver, CO on Friday night after the Buffs blew them out last year by a score of 44-7. The Rams have posted a 6-1 ATS record in their last seven games following a straight up win and they have gone an excellent 11-3 ATS in their last fourteen games when that straight up win was by 20 points or more. They have gone an impressive 11-3-1 ATS in their last fifteen games played in the month of September and they are 15-5-2 ATS in their last 22 non-conference games. The Buffaloes, on the other hand, have struggled a bit in the spot they are in here on Friday as they have failed to cover the number in four of their last five non-conference games. Throw in the fact that the dog is 3-1-1 ATS in the last five head to head meetings between the two schools and we'll take the points here with the Rams in a game that we think they have a good chance to win outright in Denver on Friday night.

    BIG AL's RED-HOT MLB DIVISION S*M*A*S*H; 63-37 RUN!
    Game Date/Time: 9/1/17 7:05 pm
Our Selection: Orioles Opponent: Blue Jays Line: -164 Rating: 1*
Analysis: At 7:05 pm, our selection is on the Baltimore Orioles over the Toronto Blue Jays. The O's had their seven game winning streak stopped on Thursday in the first game of this four-game set with the Blue Jays. Of course, if Kendrys Morales had sat out the game, then the O's streak would still be intact as the veteran DH was a one-man wrecking crew in Baltimore last night (3 HR, 7 RBI). If the O's are not only going to make it to the post-season, but get past the Wild Card round, they're going to have to get some stingy performances from their most talented starters -- namely Dylan Bundy and Kevin Gausman. Bundy did his part on Tuesday, throwing not only his best start of his career, but one of the best starts in the entire Majors in 2017. Now it's Gausman's turn. We've seen flashes of his immense talent in the past, now he just needs to find consistency. The good news is that Gausman and the O's -- together -- have had a lot of success against Toronto this season. Incredibly, this will be Gausman's fifth start of the season against the Jays, and he is 1-0 with a sparkling 1.99 ERA in those previous four starts coming into tonight. The most important stat however is that the Orioles are 4-0 in Gausman's 2017 outings vs. Toronto. Take Baltimore.
