NCAAF - Georgia Southern vs Auburn

    OVER 52ยฝ -110

Auburn coach Gus Malzahn is an offensive whiz. The Tigers are going to be even more dangerous offensively this season with a balanced attack and Chip Lindsay as offensive coordinator to assist Malzahn. Look for the Tigers to do more passing with the emergence of quarterback Jarrett Stidham, a transfer from Baylor who is below the radar right now. He can run and has a strong arm. Auburn has two excellent runners in Kamryn Pettway and Kerryon Johnson. They combined to rush for more than 2,100 yards rushing last year. The Tigers also have one of the best kickers in the country, Daniel Carlson. Gerogia Southern allowed at least 30 points in four of its last five games. Auburn scored 51 points and piled up more than 700 yards against Arkansas State last year. That was the Tigers' lone game versus a Sun Belt team. Arkansas State is better defensively than Georgia Southern. The Eagles averaged 26.2 points during their last four games. Their option attack should be improved with Bryan Cook, a disciple of Paul Johnson, brought in as offensive coordinator.

BIG AL's NCAA FOOTBALL GAME OF THE WEEK!
    Game Date/Time: 9/2/17 4:00 pm

Our Selection: Kentucky Opponent: S. Mississippi Line: -10 Rating: 1*
Analysis: At 4 pm, on Saturday, our selection is on the Kentucky Wildcats minus the points over Southern Mississippi. Both of these teams went 7-6 last season. But the Wildcats will be the much better team this season, as they're returning 17 starters, while Southern Miss only returns 12. Kentucky has been installed as a double-digit road favorite in this season opener for both teams. And that doesn't bode well for the Golden Eagles, as double-digit home dogs are an awful 61-84, 42% ATS, in season openers, including 36% ATS if they had a winning record the previous season. These two teams also met in the season opener last year. That game was played at Kentucky, but Southern Miss upset the Wildcats, 44-35, as a 3.5-point underdog. I look for Kentucky to avenge that upset loss, as they fall into 55-14 and 59-30 ATS revenge systems of mine. Additionally, the Golden Eagles are an awful 3-10 ATS as home underdogs, priced from +7 to +20, while Kentucky is 30-2 straight-up, and 20-12 ATS when favored by 8+ points. Finally, since 1990, teams from major conferences (like the SEC) have cashed 58% when playing with revenge vs. foes from minor conferences (like Conference USA), provided our revenger isn't getting 14+ points. Lay the points with Kentucky.

BIG AL's WHITE-HOT NCAA FOOTBALL ROADKILL WINNER!
    Game Date/Time: 9/2/17 8:00 pm

Our Selection: Middle Tennessee St. Opponent: Vanderbilt Line: +4.5 Rating: 1*
Analysis: At 8 pm, our selection is on the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders + the points over Vanderbilt. It's hard to have confidence in a Vandy squad installed as a road favorite in its season opener, given that the Commies have lost five straight season openers (by an average of 8.6 ppg) -- and they were favored in two of those five games. Meanwhile, Middle Tennessee has won its last four openers, by an average of 46.5 ppg. The Blue Raiders certainly hope that the "3rd time will be the charm" on Saturday. And that's because they've lost the past two seasons to the Commodores. Last year, the game was played in Nashville, and Vandy won 47-24, as a 3-point favorite. But that score was somewhat misleading, as the Blue Raiders, behind the arm of Brent Stockstill (the coach's son), actually out-yarded Vanderbilt, 495 to 344. But they lost the turnover battle, and also killed themselves with penalties. I love Middle Tennessee to avenge that loss and upset the Commodores on Saturday, as they fall into 38-18 and 80-43 ATS systems of mine. Take Middle Tennessee St.

7 Unit Play. Take #181 OVER 58 Western Michigan at USC (5:15p.m., Saturday September 2 PAC-12)

Last weekend we had another PAC-12 team on the betting board going OVER and the Stanford Cardinals gave us an easy OVER winner. Saturday night we look for another PAC-12 total winner and I believe the USC Trojans offense put up a big number against the Western Michigan defense. Western Michigan last year put up big offensive numbers (averaging 42ppg) but this year the Broncos have to break in a new head coach and replace some key players on both sides of the ball. I know the Broncos lost big offensive talent but Saturday night I see most of the scoring coming from the USC Trojans. Last year USC started the season getting blown out by Alabama 52-6 and this year I see the role being reversed and USC winning this game with ease and I see the Trojans hitting the half-century mark on offense. USC finished last averaging 34.4ppg and this year I see that number getting blown out of the water and it starts Saturday night against Western Michigan. No question USC wins this game but the main question is by how much and how many points will they score. I see the Western Michigan Broncos scoring double-digits and the more points we can get from WMU the better.

4 Unit Play. Take #193 Kentucky -10 over So. Mississippi (7:30p.m., Saturday September 2 CBSC)

I usually stay away from revenge factor games but this game has the Kentucky Wildcats winning by double-digits. Southern Miss beat Kentucky 44-35 in Lexington last year, while the Wildcats led at one time 35-10. Southern Miss scored the final 34 points in that game and I can guarantee that the Wildcats have not forgotten that result. I know this game is at M.M. Roberts Stadium (Hattiesburg, MS) but the better team will win this game at that better team the Kentucky Wildcats. Last year the Kentucky Wildcats covered their last 4 road games and this year the Wildcats start their 2017 season with a 'W' and more important a ATS win. Southern Miss is 1-5-1 ATS in their last 7 home games and the revenge factor hits Saturday night.

4 Unit Play. Take #212 UCLA -3.5 over Texas A&M (7:30p.m., Sunday September 3 FOX)

I'm completely shocked that UCLA Bruins are only -3.5 at home (Rose Bowl) against the Texas A&M Aggies. The Aggies last lost 5 out of their last 7 games and head coach Kevin Sumlin is on the hot seat and that seat will be flaming after Sunday nights game. UCLA last year had a miserable yeat losing 6 of their last 7 games and their offense was horrendous. This year UCLA is looking for some redemption and the Bruins come into this season healthy and QB Josh Rosen will have a big game and a big season. UCLA lost to A&M last year at College Station 31-24 in an outstanding overtime game and this year the Bruins get even and win at the Rose Bowl. Texas A&M is 5-16 ATS in their last 21 games and the UCLA Bruins are 7-1 ATS against SEC teams.
