For Thursday, 2000♦ Double-Your-Wager winner is the Seattle Seahawks as the road favorite against the Arizona Cardinals. At 7:05 am eastern time, the Seahawks are -6 point favorites. Note: I advise buying the half-point down on Seattle if this number should creep to -7 or -7 1/2 points.
All-Day Adrian Peterson carried plenty of the pigskin on Sunday as the Cardinals evened their season mark to 4-4 with their 20-10 win over the winless 49ers.
While Arizona was busy winning, Seattle was stunned at home as the -8 point favorites against Washington. In that game, kicker Blair Walsh reverted to his Minnesota form with misses in all 3 of his field goal attempts. I must admit the suspect Walsh gives a little pause when it comes to laying this wood on the road, but there are enough reasons to back the Seahawks here on Thursday. Namely the fact Russell Wilson is matching up against career backup Drew Stanton.
I doubt the Seahawks defense - injured and all - will let Peterson break free for another 159 yards tonight.
Seattle has had their way in Glendale in recent meetings, as the Seahawks have covered each of their last 4 visits to Arizona, and are 3-0-1 straight up in those 4 covers.
The Seahawks loss on Sunday, coupled with the Rams win has placed Seattle in an unfamiliar position in the NFC West standings, as Seattle is now trailing Los Angeles in the division standings as we move past the halfway point in the season.
Blair Walsh not withstanding, have to lay the road wood here with the desperate 'Hawks.
