    7* NCAA GOY Duke -6

This line is a joke, and drastic overreaction to several outliers in the Duke/Portland St. game. Portland St. shot almost a full 10% higher than avg from 3 in the 1H, shot 10% higher than avg from the FT line, and had 8 less TO's than avg. Duke on the other hand shot 15% below avg from 3, Duval and Allen shot 18% below their combined 3pt avg, and Duval had 3.5 TOs more than normal. All that and Duke won by 18.

Obviously Texas is a better team than Portland St., but I don't see any way they keep this within 10. Texas shoots under 29% from 3 and under 64% from the FT line. They're getting 11/10 from Bamba, but he's still raw, and has yet to run into anyone on his level in their first four games. That changes today against a Duke frontline that not only has one more talented player in Bagley, but maybe a second in Carter who I think is better right now than Bamba (Bamba has a higher ceiling). Texas has decent size in their front court, but the four posts average 7.8 ppg and 6.3 rbg. Duke's front court goes 10.2 and 7.1 respectively. Those aren't huge differences, but when you consider Texas front court is the strength of its team, and Duke's is better, that's quite a mismatch.

I expect Duke to run a zone and dare Texas to shoot them out of it. That doesn't bode well for a team hitting under 29% on the year. Duke did the same thing to a much better, and better shooting Michigan St. team, and won by seven in a game their best player only played 10 minutes. Duke got a wake up call against Portland St. and while Texas is a good defensive team, they haven't played an offense like Duke's. I expect this one to land somewhere 80-66 Duke.
