    Race 7 - Claiming - 330y on the Dirt. Purse: $10660 Class Rating: 84

QUARTER HORSE 330Y, FOR THREE YEAR OLDS WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES. WEIGHT, 124 LBS. CLAIMING PRICE $16,000

    RECOMMENDED CHOICES
    The Walker Group Picks

    # 1 RICHY RICH 3/1

    # 8 ROYAL PRIMETIME 5/2

    # 7 SP FOUR SQUARE 6/1

RICHY RICH looks very good to best this field. Jockey's recent ROI numbers make this gelding a very good wager. Garnered a respectable speed figure last time out. A solid 89 avg class figure may give this gelding a distinct class edge against this group of animals. ROYAL PRIMETIME - Ought to be carefully examined - I like the figs from the last race. Risk takers get an edge when playing this conditioner in a short race. SP FOUR SQUARE - He has garnered very good figures under today's conditions and will almost certainly fare well against this group of horses. He has a quite good distance/surface win record - 3 for 8.

QUARTER HORSE 330Y, FOR ACCREDITED LA BRED THREE YEAR OLDS AND UPWARD WHICH HAVE NEVER WON TWO RACES. THREE YEAR OLDS, 124 LBS.; OLDER, 126 LBS.

    RECOMMENDED CHOICES
    The Walker Group Picks

    # 1 SIZZLIN ON DA BAYOU 6/1

    # 7 WAVEN BYE PILOTO 4/1

    # 3 RLR ULTIMATE CORONA 12/1

SIZZLIN ON DA BAYOU looks to be a very good contender. Is hard not to consider based on Equibase Speed Figs which have been competitive - 66 avg - of late. Earned a formidable speed rating in the last race. Can run another good one in this race. Has a very solid shot in here if you like back class. WAVEN BYE PILOTO - I like the jock on this filly - strong chance to win the race. Has to be carefully examined - I like the numbers from the last race. RLR ULTIMATE CORONA - He has posted strong numbers under today's conditions and ought to fare well versus this field. This gelding obviously likes the distance, going 1 for 5 in his races lately.

    Parx Racing - Race #8 - Post: 3:34pm - Optional Claiming - 6.0 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $49,000 Class Rating: 105

    Rating: 3

    #5 MEASURED (ML=6/1)
    #7 FLASHY KYEM (ML=9/5)
    #4 IRISH COLONEL (ML=9/2)
    #1 BUST ANOTHER (ML=5/1)
    #3 THOROUGHBRED FUEL (ML=10/1)

MEASURED - This thoroughbred coming off a sharp try in the last month is a serious competitor in my opinion. This gelding earned a strong rating of 106 in his last race. That speed rating should be strong enough to win this time around. This horse has increased his speed ratings from a fig of 96 to 98 to 106 in succession. FLASHY KYEM - Multiple wins in this horse's life, all at Parx Racing. Could add another win in this field. IRISH COLONEL - I took a look at this gelding's finishes. He's almost always in-the-money. BUST ANOTHER - Really have to figure this mount is going to be very close at the finish line. THOROUGHBRED FUEL - The jockey/handler duet of Silvera and Lake has a strong ROI together. I think the shorter trip will help this gelding stay the trip.

Vulnerable Contenders: #6 EVEN THUNDER (ML=4/1), #1A GIANT TRICK (ML=5/1),

EVEN THUNDER - Improbable that this less than sharp equine will be at his best in today's event off the long breather. Maybe next out. This gelding hasn't been showing me anything positive in the last two outings. GIANT TRICK - Nice race on December 16th at Penn National, but the fact that there are no workouts since has to make one a little worried.

Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - MEASURED - After a layoff, has had a few races and today he enters a sprint race. Should be back in form, so I expect this thoroughbred to perform well in this event.

    Santa Anita - Race #6 - Post: 3:06pm - Maiden Claiming - 5.5 furlongs on the Dirt. Purse: $29,000 Class Rating: 82

    Rating: 3

    #7 SUPER PATRIOT (ML=4/1)
#3 DEE WAY TO GO (ML=15/1)

SUPER PATRIOT - Have to like the way Baffert has raced this filly back into shape off the layoff. Animal is well spotted in this sprint and I think she'll run well today. Getting a break of 5 pounds from last race at Los Alamitos (Thoroughbre. She should make the most of this advantage. DEE WAY TO GO - That last workout was at a longer distance. That's got to be a good sign. Looking like a potential overlay right here in this race at odds of 15/1. Finished fourth in last race at Santa Anita but was close at the end. A repeat of that last effort on June 1st where she registered a speed rating of 80 looks high enough to win in this event.

    Vulnerable Contenders: #5 IMPECUNIOUS (ML=7/2), #4 SMOOTH AND SAVVY (ML=5/1), #8 SAPPHIRE KID (ML=5/1),

IMPECUNIOUS - Can't wager on this mount in today's sprint of 5 1/2 furlongs. Hasn't even finished in the money in a sprint contest of late. Couldn't make up ground at any point on November 26th. Hard to wager on in today's event at the expected odds. SMOOTH AND SAVVY - She showed not much at all in the last event. The Brain always cautions me to keep away from ponies in sprint races that haven't finished in the money in sprint events lately. SAPPHIRE KID - No picnic to play any entrant in a sprint event if she hasn't finished in the money in a sprint in the last sixty days.

    STRAIGHT WAGERS:
#7 SUPER PATRIOT is going to be the play if we are getting 3/1 or better
