4-Unit Play. Take #828 Quinnipiac (-1.5) over Siena (2 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21)
Siena is still playing without its best player, who quit the team. They could barely handle Marist their last time out and it won't be any easier here. The Bobcats stink, but they have been pretty good at home. I will keep betting against the loser Saints.
2-Unit Play. Take #821 Washington State (+10.5) over Utah (8 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21)
Utah doesn't really have the second gear to blow teams out that we've seen from them in years past. They have lost four of five and most of those games weren't close. This team is really in a rebuilding phase and I don't know that they will get away from a scrappy Wazzou team.
3-Unit Play. Take #815 Northern Iowa (+1.5) over Southern Illinois (4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 21)
The Panthers are turning things around after a really shaky start. This team is better than its record suggests. They will have to dig deep for a road win in conference play - home teams dominate The Valley - but I think that Northern Iowa is still playing with some desperation and they will find a way to gut this one out.
3-Unit Play. Take #813 Rutgers (+12) over Michigan (Noon, Sunday, Jan. 21)
The Wolverines had their bubble burst a bit with a 20-point blowout loss at Nebraska on Thursday. They also have Purdue on deck. I don't think they will be at their best in this game. John Beilein teams are always better in the underdog role than the favorite role and Rutgers has been playing just about everyone tough. I think they can hang around here.
