These are the dog days of the NBA season right now as most teams are counting the days until the NBA All-Star break. That's not the case with the Detroit Pistons though as they made a huge trade last week acquiring superstar Blake Griffin. The addition of Griffin looks to have given this Pistons franchise a much needed shot in the arm. Detroit has won it's first two games with Griffin in uniform and overall the electricity in their home arena has been way higher in those last two games.
On the other side of things you have to wonder just how much gas is in the tank right now for the Portland Trail Blazers. The Blazers play the back end of a back to back spot here tonight. They lost a heartbreaker yesterday at the buzzer to the Boston Celtics. This is their final road game of a 3 game trip played over 4 days. The Blazers have failed to cover the spread in any of their last 5 road contests against home teams with a .600 home win percentage (Detroit .615 at home) and are just 2-5 straight-up in their last 7 road games played overall.
This game is huge here for a Detroit Pistons team that is desperately trying to make the playoffs this year. A win here in this game ties them for the final Eastern Conference playoff spot. Take Detroit minus the points in this one. Been a nice winning CBB season overall so far for me and my clients. Love the conference season as I focus mainly on the smaller leagues which give me the biggest advantage. Tons of great action coming over the next 2 months!!!

I know the Rangers gave up 5 goals in their last game and the Stars scored 6 goals in their last game but the last 4 meetings between these two teams 3 have gone under and that trend continues. The Dallas Stars last 4 games 3 of them have gone UNDER and with Ben Bishop in the net tonight I see him shutting down the Rangers. Bishop's last two home starts both went UNDER the total but Bishop got the losses but again I see him having an outstanding night in the net against the Rangers. The Stars are 1-10 O/U after an opponent allows 5 goals or more in their last game and the 5 meetings in Dallas 4 of them have gone UNDER the total

Today's NBA selection was a bit tough because I was going back and forth with the Pistons or Pacers but since the Blazers played yesterday and lost on the road I see another road loss to the Blazers. Portland comes to Motown losers of back-to-back road games while the Pistons have won 3-straight and all 3 wins were at home. Portland is 2-5-1 ATS in their last 8 road games and the Blazers are 1-4 ATS following a SU loss. The home team in this series is 8-3 ATS and the Pistons at home against the Blazers are 5-1 ATS.
