WE look to stay hot in the NBA after moving to 7-2 in our last nine plays.
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
Boston Celtics @ Minnesota Timberwolves
The Boston Celtics have looked like the team that were touted to win the East for the majority of the season and that’s thanks to a huge improvement in their offensive efficiency.
Since returning form the All-Star break they’ve gone 5-1 straight up, and against the spread, and have averaged 116.5 points per game – a huge increase on their season average.
The biggest concern here is whether Kyrie Irving is cleared to return from a knee injury after he was left out of the squad that comfortably dealt with the Bulls last time out.
While Irving’s absence will certainly play a part in what the market does we’re still siding with Boston based on their defence remaining a critical component when matching up with this Minnesota outfit.
The T’wolves meanwhile haven’t got that same ability to slow down opponents, especially in the absence of Jimmy Butler. Since the All-Star break they’ve gone 2-3 and have only won (and covered) against sub-.500 teams in Chicago and Sacramento.
They’ve allowed a worrying 109.6 points per game in that stretch and have failed to hold any of their opponents to under 100 points. In fact, going back further, they’ve allowed 114.5 points per game in their last 10 starts – although that was aided by that crazy game in Cleveland where they gave up 140.
The Celtics are still 4-2 with Irving this season, including an impressive win against the Raptors as well as their last start in Chicago where they took their foot off the pedal the entire fourth quarter.
Boston has won four of the last five meetings between these teams and our projections show them picking up the W at least 61% of the time without Irving, so we’ll take this value now and have our odds boosted dramatically should he be cleared to play.
Tip: Boston Celtics @ $1.81 (Pinnacle) (1.5 units)
IT was a rare losing day in the NHL for us but we’re ready to bounce back in a big way once again.
Check out our best bets for the action ahead:
Winnipeg Jets @ New Jersey Devils
Tip: Winnipeg Jets @ $1.94 (Pinnacle)
Vegas Golden Knights @ Detroit Red Wings
Tip: Vegas Golden Knights @ $1.72 (Pinnacle)
Anaheim Ducks @ Nashville Predators
Tip: Under 5.5 goals @ $1.81 (Pinnacle)
Carolina Hurricanes @ Chicago Blackhawks
Tip: Under 5.5 goals @ $2.03 (Pinnacle)

COLLEGE BASKETBALL PLAYS
3 Unit Play. Take #671 Over 133 South Florida at Memphis (2:30p.m., Thursday March 8 ESPNU)
Both teams have the offense to push this total over and the two meetings this year the winner scored over 70 plus points. Memphis comes into this First Round of the AAC tournament a heavy favorite against USF and the Memphis Tigers have been cashing over tickets at will going 8-2 O/u in their last 10 games. South Florida is 5-0 O/U in their last 5 neutral site game and the Memphis Tigers are also 4-0 on neutral site games.
6 Unit Play. Take #681 Over 143 Duquesne at Richmond (6:00p.m., Thursday March 8 NBCS)
The Capital One Arena in Washington should see tons of offense in this game and I'm a bit shocked that this total wasn't 144 or higher. Both meetings this year between these two schools have hit the over and in late January Richmond beat Duquesne 101-90. The Dukes come into this Second Round game trending over games going 8-2 O/U in their last 10 conference games and the Richmond Spiders last two game they have hit the 90 mark in both games. With both conference teams at times playing no defense I see this game being a fast pace game and this total again will have no problem going over. Duquesne is 11-3 O/U in their last 14 conference games and the Spiders are 20-7 O/U in their last 27 games.
2 Unit Play. Take #716 Arkansas -5 over South Carolina (9:30p.m., Thursday March 8 SEC)
Last night we had South Carolina against Ole Miss and the Gamecocks won but didn't get the cover and tonight I see the Arkansas Razorbacks taking control of this game quickly. Arkansas beat South Carolina last month 81-65 and the Razorback come into this game winners of 6 out 8 games and with the Razorbacks being fresh tonight that will come in handy as they pull away in the Second Round. Arkansas is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 meetings and tonight this trend continues to cash.
