200 Club Game of the Week
Buffalo (-5) at Rutgers Noon ET B10
Do we have our first “Towel Tosser” of the 2018 Season? If the lack of intensity by Rutgers the last two weeks is any indication, that certainly could be the case. After opening with a victory here against outmanned Texas State, Rutgers traveled to Columbus where they suffered their annual butt kicking at the hands of the Buckeyes, 52-3, a contest in which they were outgained 578-134. That was excusable! WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK WAS NOT! They traveled to play Kansas, who in the minds of all who follow CFB, has been the dregs of Power 5 schools for many recent seasons. Yet the Jayhawks were good enough to trounce Rutgers 55-14 outrushing the Knights 400-150 and forcing 6 Rutgers turnovers. That translates into a non-effort by Rutgers. Rutgers has been troubled by suspensions and injuries to their defense the entire season. With a mediocre ground game, it has been a recipe for disaster. As a result, they are in the best part of the “150 Club” PLAY AGAINST allowing 231/5.8 overland, a greater than 70% PLAY AGAINST indicator. Now they must face a Buffalo team who is on a roll behind Jumbo QB Jackson who enters with a recent 8-1 TRGS. In leading the Bulls to a hard-fought 35-28 victory, and cover, vs. E. Mich last week, Jackson unleashed scoring passes of 70 and 75 yards. You will remember the week before when Jackson led Buffalo to the upset of Temple, 36-29, with a 427-355 yardage edge. With the Buffalo indicators pointing upward, and in direct opposition to those pointing downward for Rutgers, this could well be a “200 Club” stomping by the visitor. The Bulls figure to profit overland against the 231/5.8 rush defense of their host while also succeeding behind the arm of Jackson, who has been leading the Bulls to an average of 267 PYPG. This is a “200 Club” bashing against a “150 Club” opponent, which extends the perfect record of “200 Club” selections on these pages.

8 Unit Play. Take #367 Over 53.5 Rice at Southern Miss (7:00p.m., Saturday September 22)
(College Football Total Game of the Year) A little confused on why this total has dropped 1.5 in 24 hours. The Rice Owls visit M.M. Roberts Stadium to face off the Southern Miss Golden Eagles and if you like offense then I believe this is that game. Last year Southern Miss went to Rice and beat them 43-34 and that total was 49 and we had that game over and Saturday night we hit another OVER bet between these two CUSA teams. Southern Miss had an extra week to prepare for this home game and their last home game they lost to UL Monroe 21-20 but I don't see that happening Saturday night. The Rice defense has been awful in their last two games giving up 43 points to Hawaii and 45 points to Houston and I see the Golden Eagles throwing up 40 plus points. Again, I have no clue why this total dropped and I believe we should have no problem cashing and Eagles QB Jack Abraham has big numbers at the end of the night. Rice is 6-2 O/U in their last 8 games and this year all 3 of their games have gone over the total. Southern Miss is 5-1 O/U in their last 6 games and the Golden Eagles are 5-2 following a bye week. Lets also throw in that the last 8 meetings between these two teams all 8 of them have gone over. Jump on this total NOW!

3-Unit Play. #370. Take Auburn -29.5 over Arkansas (Saturday @ 7:30pm)
I can't even begin to tell you how angry Auburn is right now and must feel right now having lost to the other Tiger team on a last second field goal. This is a game that they should have won and were up by 11 points at one point in the 2nd half before the collapsed and not only lost the cover but Outright. This is a team that beat Washington in the opener and was well prepared for that game and they looked a bit ill-prepared for the LSU game and you have to give LSU credit for hanging tough and making plays late in that game. Having said that, Auburn is angry and they face another SEC opponent here and might just take it out on Arkansas in a big way. We wish that Arkansas would have just barely beat North Texas in their last game rather than getting blown out but then again Auburn is aware of that score and needs to thump Arkansas by as big of a margin as possible in order to look better than not only North Texas but to boost their own morale here. Auburn beat this team 52-20 last year on the road, they can honestly name their score here, but given how good their offense is and given Arkansas inability to score in the 2nd half of the Colorado State game and only 17 points against North Texas, including a 116th in pass defense, this could be a very long day for for Arkansas as Auburn might very well win this contest by 5 touchdowns by or more.
