    L.A. DODGERS @ CINCINNATI | 09/17 | 7:10 PM EDT
    L.A. DODGERS -160
ANALYSIS: The Reds apparently may get All-Star outfielder Jesse Winker back from a long IL stint so that lineup will be that much better, but the pitching matchup is incredibly one-sided in favor of the Dodgers' Walker Buehler over the Reds' Luis Castillo. Plus, Cincinnati has used its three best relievers each of the past two days so they aren't available. LA was off Thursday so no pen worries -- Buehler is capable of a complete game regardless. Frankly, you almost have to take the Dodgers the rest of the way when they are under -200. Cincinnati is 0-5 in its past five after a win.

    UCF @ LOUISVILLE | 09/17 | 7:30 PM EDT
    UCF -6.5
ANALYSIS: Now that this has dipped under 7, which may be temporary, let's try it on the Knights. Hard to see Louisville running the ball with much success against the nation's No. 2 rush defense, and Cards QB Malik Cunningham really isn't the type of guy who should be throwing it 40 times. On the flip side, UCF's offense is explosive behind QB Dillon Gabriel, and UofL couldn't stop Ole Miss in the season opener at all. Maybe the Knights' offense isn't quite as good as the Rebs', but it's not that far off.

    ATLANTA @ SAN FRANCISCO | 09/17 | 9:45 PM EDT
    SAN FRANCISCO -157
ANALYSIS: Lost on the Giants at home the past two days, but going back to the well here. SF has clinched a playoff spot but is neck-and-neck with the Dodgers to avoid the wild-card game so there remains plenty of motivation. Logan Webb (10-3, 2.80) is 5-0 with 1.66 ERA at home this year. The Braves were supposed to play Thursday at home but had to wait around for a postponement and then fly across the country. Ian Anderson is a solid pitcher but has a 6.75 ERA in two starts this month. Atlanta has dropped its past four as a dog.

    PITTSBURGH @ MIAMI | 09/17 | 7:10 PM EDT
    MIAMI -145
ANALYSIS: Pittsburgh had to play Thursday and travel, while Miami was off. The Bucs enter on a seven-game road skid and scheduled starting pitcher Wil Crowe has a 7.04 ERA in 46.0 away innings. The Marlins have won four straight as favorites and are 6-2 in their past eight at home. Elieser Hernandez allowed one run over five in his lone outing this year vs. Pittsburgh.

    OAKLAND @ L.A. ANGELS | 09/17 | 9:38 PM EDT
    OAKLAND +100
ANALYSIS: This is one of those times we are betting a lookahead line because we know things are going to change -- Friday's change being that Shohei Ohtani will not pitch for the Angels due to a sore arm and probably pitch won't the rest of the way; it won't apparently affect his hitting. The Halos haven't announced a starter Friday yet (likely a bullpen day), but I'd expect the A's to be favored eventually. It will be Cole Irvin for them, and he has a 3.24 ERA in four starts this year vs. LA. Oakland has won six of its past eight in Anaheim.

    UCF @ LOUISVILLE | 09/17 | 7:30 PM EDT
    UCF -7
ANALYSIS: The Louisville defense is allowing 402.0 yards per game and is going to have a tough time slowing Dillon Gabriel and the UCF offense, which is averaging 583.0 yards. The Louisville offense, led by QB Malik Cunningham, won’t be able to keep up, much the same way the Cardinals fell short against Ole Miss. I’m on UCF to cover.

ANALYSIS: The Phillies have won two straight and sit three games behind the Braves in the NL East. The Mets sit 5.5 games back. I’m on Philadelphia not only because Bryce Harper is chasing an MVP award but also because Zack Wheeler decided to wake up from his August sleepwalk. The Phils have won his last three starts, and his last two have been amazing, allowing one run over 12.2 innings combined. Phillies to win.

    SEATTLE @ KANSAS CITY | 09/17 | 8:10 PM EDT
    SEATTLE -120
ANALYSIS: I didn't much like this game initially but will take the plunge at a low price on a team with motivation (Seattle) against one with none (Kansas City). Plus, the Royals blew out their bullpen all week against the A's, including yesterday. They are going to need that 'pen with starting pitcher Brady Singer scratched and rookie Jon Heasley making his first MLB appearance. Some solid minor-league numbers for the 24-year-old but has never pitched above Double-A. Tough making your debut on short notice like this against a good team. The Mariners had Thursday off and it's nothing short of desperation time for them wild-card wise. Seattle starter Chris Flexen hasn't been quite as good on the road but the team has still won 18 of his 27 outings overall.

    L.A. DODGERS @ CINCINNATI | 09/17 | 7:10 PM EDT
    L.A. DODGERS -160
ANALYSIS: Walker Buehler has been dominant for the Dodgers and he faces a struggling Reds lineup today, although they are expected to get Jesse Winker back in the lineup. Luis Castillo turned his season around but has struggled as of late going 1-5 with a 4.68 ERA in his last 7 starts. He really hasn’t been that bad but the Reds offense has been one of the worst in the league the past few weeks. The Reds have the 3rd worst record in the league in September at 5-9 while the Dodgers are 10-4 in the same timespan. Take the Dodgers on the road.

    TEXAS +183
ANALYSIS: Taylor Hearn has been an absolute stud since being inserted into the starting rotation pitching at least five innings and not allowing more than three runs in any of his 5 starts. The Rangers are 7-7 in September while the White Sox are just 6-7 and 2-4 on the road. Dylan Cease is much worse on the road with a 5.37 ERA and he has had serious command issues his past few starts. The White Sox are 34-36 on the road this season, take the value in the Rangers at home.

    CLEVELAND +165
ANALYSIS: Zach Plesac has been solid lately and he is more than capable of pitching a quality start against a struggling Yankees lineup. Corey Kluber hasn’t pitched well since his return from the IL, but he also hasn’t pitched deep. The Yankees used all their top relievers in two close games with the Orioles the past two days, while the Indians bats have finally started to wake up. The Indians are 5-3 on the road in September while the Yankees are 2-6 at home. This game should be much closer to even, take the value in the Tribe.

    ATLANTA @ SAN FRANCISCO | 09/17 | 9:45 PM EDT
    SAN FRANCISCO -172
ANALYSIS: We’ve lost the past 2 games on the Giants at home after winning the first two games of the Padres series, but they should be desperate today at home only 1 game up on the Dodgers. Logan Webb has actually been their best pitcher since the trade deadline, he is 8-0 with a 1.96 ERA in his last 15 starts. He has pitched 10 straight games of at least 6 innings which is big because the Giants bullpen is worked after 2 bullpen games in their last series. The Braves just lost two in a row at home to the Rockies and Ian Anderson hasn’t quite found it yet since returning from the IL. Buster Posey should be back in the lineup after sitting yesterday.

    COLORADO @ WASHINGTON | 09/17 | 7:05 PM EDT
    COLORADO -111
ANALYSIS: The Rockies have won 4 of their last 5 games all on the road and now they face Josiah Gray and the Nats. Gray started off hot but he has struggled lately allowing at least 5 runs in his last 3 starts. German Marquez has been much better at home but he is coming off 6 shutout innings against the Phillies. The Rockies top bullpen guys got the day off yesterday and the Nats bullpen has been miserable. Take the Rockies to win their 4th straight and 5th out of 6.

    SEATTLE @ KANSAS CITY | 09/17 | 8:10 PM EDT
    SEATTLE -125
ANALYSIS: Mariners starter Chris Flexen looked bad last time out, but it was his second straight start against the Diamondbacks and a quick turn-around like that is generally a disadvantage for the pitcher. Prior to that, Flexen had a 2.93 ERA in his last seven starts. He'll get back on track. The Royals put scheduled starter Brady Singer on the IL and brought up Jon Heasley from Double-A to start. He's been good there, but it's Double-A and he hasn't thrown more than 81 pitches since Aug. 6. Plus, the Mariners were off Thursday while the Royals' bullpen was beaten up pretty severely the past two days. Take the better team with the better pitching situation.

    ST. LOUIS -121
ANALYSIS: The Cardinals are riding high right now, having won seven of eight -- all against contenders. They'll get another shot here against the Padres. Those Padres are so hard up for pitching they just signed Vince Velasquez and are starting him here. Cardinals starter Miles Mikolas hasn't been good, but the Cardinals were off Thursday while the Padres played in San Francisco and had to burn most of their important relievers before flying halfway across the country. The signs point toward a St. Louis win.

    PHILADELPHIA -125
ANALYSIS: The Mets somehow took two of three from the Yankees last weekend, but have still lost six of eight overall and don't inspire any sort of confidence. Mets starter Taijuan Walker has a 7.38 ERA since the All-Star break, with the Mets going 2-8 in his starts. The Phillies start Cy Young contender Zack Wheeler, who has been good his last two times out after a slight rough patch. Last time he faced the Mets he threw a shutout, too.

ANALYSIS: The Reds do get All-Star outfielder Jesse Winker back, but can he cure all that ills them? They've lost six straight series, four of those against the Marlins, Tigers, Cubs and Pirates. They've hit .209/.266/.335 while averaging 2.7 runs per game in their last 10 games. Now they get to face Cy Young contender Walker Buehler. The Dodgers have won 17 of his last 23 starts and are 32-10 since the trade deadline. This number isn't near high enough.

ANALYSIS: Since the Yankees' 13-game winning streak, they've gone 6-13. Sure, they've won three of four, but those wins came against last-place teams, two of them just by one run. Corey Kluber takes the mound and he has an 8.49 ERA in his three starts since coming off the injured list. He hasn't gone deeper than four innings and the Yankees' bullpen has a 4.90 ERA in September. Cleveland starter Zach Plesac has a 2.66 ERA in his last four starts and while the Indians' offense isn't exactly inspiring, I'm comfortable betting against the Yankees at this number.
