This is a dismal spot for the down-trodden Predators as they arrive in Winnipeg in hopes of snapping a four-game losing streak, but facing a Jets squad that will obviously be in a foul mood after blowing a third period lead in a 6-5 loss to Vegas two nights ago - their second straight loss on home ice. Winnipeg does remain a solid 10-5 on home ice this season, allowing just 2.3 goals per contest while outscoring opponents by 1.1 goals on average. In stark contrast, the Preds are 6-8 on the road, yielding 3.4 goals per game while being outscored by 0.8 goals on average. Here, we'll note that the Jets are 25-15 (+10.0 net games) when coming off a game where they gave up four goals or more over the last two seasons, outscoring opponents by 0.7 goals on average in that situation. Take Winnipeg.

Jack's Free Pick Thursday: Bucks/Grizzlies UNDER 227
Both the Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies are really clamping down defensively of late. I expect that to continue with both teams missing one of their top scorers in Jrue Holiday (19.1 PPG) for the Bucks and Desmond Bane (24.7 PPG) for the Grizzlies.
The Grizzlies have been so good defensively due to the return of Jaren Jackson Jr. They have allowed 112 or fewer points in seven consecutive games, including 103 or fewer in four straight. The Bucks have allowed 113 or fewer points in six consecutive games. One or both of these teams is going to have to top 113 points to beat us, and I don't see it happening.
The UNDER is 7-0 in Bucks seven road games with a total of 220 to 229.5 this season. The UNDER is 15-4 in Grizzlies last 19 home games following three or more consecutive wins. The UNDER is 16-5 in Bucks last 21 road games. The UNDER is 9-1 in Bucks last 10 games following an ATS win. Bet the UNDER in this game Thursday.

Thursday's Free NBA Pick: Memphis Grizzlies -2
I'll take my chances with the Grizzlies as a 2-point home favorite against the Bucks. This to me is a great spot to fade Milwaukee. The Bucks are getting all kinds of love after Tuesday's 128-111 win at home over the Warriors on TNT. This is a team that has been on the road a lot. Bucks haven't played a game in the same city since finishing up a 4-game homestand on Nov. 27th.
I think it will be tough for the Bucks to match the intensity of the Grizzlies. Memphis has quietly been on an absolute tear of late. Grizzlies are riding a 6-game win streak and have gone 8-1 SU in their last 9 games. They have gone an identical 8-1 ATS during this stretch.
Grizzlies should be the fresher team in this game. Memphis has had two days off since playing at home against the Hawks on Monday. They also had two days off leading up to that game. They have played 1 game in 5 days. This will be the Bucks' 3rd game in 5 days.
Memphis is also 12-2 SU and 11-3 ATS at home this year. Milwaukee is 7-4 SU on the road, but are just 4-5-2 ATS. Grizzlies are 20-8 ATS over the last 2 seasons at home when facing a team with a winning record. Give me the Grizzlies -2!

ASA free play on Houston Rockets +4 vs. Miami Heat, 8 PM ET - The Heat are in a tough scheduling situation here as they are coming off a tight 2-point win in Oklahoma City last night, also playing their 3rd game in 4 nights and 4th in 6 days. Houston meanwhile has been at home resting since the 13th. The young Rockets have put together an impressive home winning streak with quality wins over the Suns, Bucks, 76ers, Thunder and Hawks. Most recently they held the Suns to 32% shooting, well below their season average. The game before that they held the Bucks to 36.7%. Miami is 5-9 SU away from home with a negative differential of minus -3.3PPG. On the season the Rockets are 6-5 SU at home with a plus +0.6PPG differential, but again, in their last five they are 5-0 with a +/- of +9.4PPG. The Heat are one of the worst defensive rebounding teams in the NBA and the Rockets have the 4th best offensive rebounding numbers. That will be the difference tonight.
