    Week 7 Odds and Ends

    There have been many memorable comebacks in the NFL season so far -- and it’s only October. Through the
    first six weeks of the season, 28 of 88 games (31.8 percent) have been decided by a fourth-quarter comeback. That puts
    the 2008 season on pace for the highest percentage of games with a fourth-quarter comeback in NFL history.
    Following are the seasons with the highest percentage of fourth-quarter comebacks:

    COOL BREES: New Orleans Saints quarterback DREW BREES leads the NFL with 1,993 passing yards and is on pace
    for an NFL-record 5,314 yards (which would surpass DAN MARINO’s record 5,084 yards in 1984). Brees has thrown for
    at least 320 yards in four consecutive games and needs 320 yards this week against Carolina to join RICH GANNON (6)
    and KURT WARNER (5) as the only players in history with five consecutive 320-yard games. Following are the players

    FLAVOR OF THE MONTH: The INDIANAPOLIS COLTS have won 13 consecutive games in October, the third longest
    streak in the month since 1970. With a win this Sunday at Green Bay, the Colts will tie the longest October winning streak

    BRINGING IT TO THE BEARS: Minnesota Vikings running back ADRIAN PETERSON, the 2007 AP Offensive Rookie of
    the Year, has enjoyed success against the NFC North-rival Chicago Bears, who the Vikings visit on Sunday. He has
    rushed for five touchdowns in his first two games against Chicago.
    Peterson can become only the fifth player in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) to rush for at least two touchdowns in each
    of his first three games against an opponent. Following are the four players to accomplish the feat:

    streak in history. Ware can tie the record with a sack this Sunday against St. Louis.

    LOUISIANA LIGHTNING: New Orleans Saints running back-punt returner REGGIE BUSH is one of the most versatile
    players in the NFL. The third-year player had a rushing and receiving touchdown last Sunday, one week after tying an
    NFL single-game record with two punt-return scores. In his career, Bush has 23 total touchdowns – 12 rushing, seven
    receiving and four on punt-returns.
    With one more punt-return touchdown, Bush will join ERIC METCALF as the only players in history with at least 10
    rushing touchdowns, five receiving TDs and five punt-return scores.
