My laptop just died

Came home today and booted up my laptop and heard this tick tick tick sound coming from it and I was like oh crap.The ticking stopped and I thought I was ok but right then the screen froze and when I turned it off and stared it back up I got the blue screen and it said volume boot error. I knew then my hard drive had just died . Called up Dell and then said I'd have to send it in , I told them its was just a hard drive just send me one I'll put it in, they said ok and told me it would be here friday. At least it is still under warranty and isnt going to cost me anything .
The bad thing is I lost every document of my notebook. I guess I'll be buying a external hard drive to back everything up on now. At least the GF has the exact same laptop as I do so at least I wont be going without computer access . Sure wish I hadnt lost everything though

I cant either, actually neither of us can. Even when we are watching things on tv we are both still playing on our laptops at the same time. We dont even have a desktop anymore . I parted it out to some gaming nerd a year ago and we both got laptops.

I think the thing that pisses me off the most that I lost was I make a lot of notes about games about what happened in certain situations in case they come up again and that was now a waste of time.

Like I said I will definitely buy a external hard drive to save everything on now .Heck you can get a huge one (160 GB) for less than 75 bucks now. You guys might want to think about one too if you have anything important on your computers . I'd hate for this to happen to one of you guys also . It all happened within a 30 second span and it was gone.

Why couldnt it have been the GF's laptop all she has is myspace notes on hers
