    SD vs NO in LONDON

It's going to start raining at midnight tonight in LONDON & it is supposed to start raining harder at noon on Sunday - Wembley Field will be a mess again...

TWC sez 60% chance or light rain strating @ 11PM tonight thru 10AM when rain becomes heavier, (Rain 70%) thru 3PM; 4PM thru 9PM calls for 30% chance of a few showers, but the field will be SOAKED by then - just in time for both teams to strat warm-ups. Wind at game time is now forcast at 10 mph, diminishing during the game (yesterday wind @ gametime was forcast @ 20-30 mph). Total rainfall forcast is 1/4 inch.

NOTE: Local gametime is 6PM !

Last year this (SOCCER) field was an absolute mess BEFORE KICKOFF! The NFL cleats really chew up this turf. It was pretty comical watching the groundskeepers run around in a futile attempt to repair the field before kickoff...

Kicking will be VERY DIFFICULT! Last year, Miami Kicker Jay Feely said, "The field was like ice..."

Last year's final score (MIA vs NYG) was 10-13. There were 7 fumbles. 2 missed field goals (longest was 41 yds, impressive under these conditions), EliManning was 8/22 for 59 yds passing & Lemmon was 17/30 for 149 - total passing both teams = 208 yds...

PLEASE NOTE: There is a decent chance that a passing game could develop at some point as this game develops (both teams do love to pass), and a sloppy field does favor the offense... BUT, both of these teams can be expected to concentrate on running the ball on this EXTREMELY sloppy surface - Last year, NY did try to get a vertical passing game going early on, but it just wasn't happenning and then switched to the ground to pound it out...

DO CHECK THE FORCAST BEFORE LOCKING IN YOUR ACTION!

Yup... looks like it's clearing up...

I don't know if they have tarps to cover the field - seems likely - Anyone?

This turf will still be loose & would be coming up even if it was ever dry for a week, but that may just favor the offense now, that is, IF the offensive players can make thier cuts without falling, they will have the advantage...

Looks like I'm down to a small play on the UNDER 46...

Maybe grab a little SD -3 - they should do much better than NO on this turf...

Anyone know if the field was covered?

Just looked at a ton of photos of Wembly & didn't see any where it was covered - also didn't see any tarps rolled up along the sidelines, either...

    GL everybody!

There were tarps earlier per nfl network, they said the field is in much better shape than last year as last years game had new sod, current sod there for 18 months now, and the groundscrew better prepared for the big boys of the nfl
