#4 PUPAREE (ML=8/1)
#1 SATIN SHEETS (ML=9/5)
#6 BREE'S GOT HEART (ML=2/1)
PUPAREE - Mare is a few starts into a come back here. Should give a big race today. SATIN SHEETS - This horse is number one in EPS (earnings per start). She looks sharp in today's contest. BREE'S GOT HEART - The return on investment when Lopez and Reid hook up is terrific. All systems look good for this filly. Last workout, 2nd fastest of the day, shows she's fit and ready. I like to play horses that faced open company in their last race and drop into state bred races. This filly fits the bill.
Vulnerable Contenders: #2 KITTY MADDNES (ML=4/1), #3 TIZ A KITTEN (ML=6/1),
KITTY MADDNES - Didn't hit the board on Oct 18th at Belmont Park. Followed it up with another less than stellar performance. Usually I need a sprinter to have some recent success in sprint events in order to play her. TIZ A KITTEN - This filly hasn't had any recent good results in short distance events. Difficult to wager on her in this event.

The Walker Group Picks
# 11 BIG YANKEE 4/1
# 7 FATHER GEORGE 5/2
# 6 DOUBLE DOWN 7/2
BIG YANKEE looks to be a very strong contender. Has formidable Equibase Speed Figs and has to be considered for a bet in this event. Has decent front-end speed and should fare admirably against this group. With a very good 59 Equibase speed fig last time out, will definitely be a factor in this contest. FATHER GEORGE - Could best this group of horses in this race based on the speed fig - 55 - of his last affair. As of late Morales has been on fire which may give the edge to this gelding. DOUBLE DOWN - Always good to invest in a handler with this kind of very good win percentage - 20 percent - at this distance & surface. Will most likely be one of the early speedsters of the pack going into the halfway point of the contest.

#1 IDE BETTER MOVE (ML=8/1)
#7 TOM AND ED'S GIRL (ML=5/1)
#4 UNTETHERED SOUL (ML=3/1)
IDE BETTER MOVE - Filly's last race was against tougher open company. She's in with easier 'state breds' today. Out of the money finish in the last race at Delta Downs was better than it looked on paper. She improved position in the stretch and never gave up. TOM AND ED'S GIRL - This filly likes to be near the lead. Today's clash is a shorter distance and should aid her chances of winning. Ran in the last race against a tougher field at Delta Downs. The move to a lower class rank should suit her well. UNTETHERED SOUL - This filly was sharp enough to post a 'top two' workout recently. I think she's ready for today's event. This filly is in good form. Ran third on Nov 30th. This speed freak is running a shorter distance today. Should promote her winning probability.
Vulnerable Contenders: #2 RUNNINGDOWNDREAMS (ML=5/2), #3 RED LA ROSA (ML=9/2), #6 FOXY MISS (ML=6/1),
RUNNINGDOWNDREAMS - While Equibase's speed ratings are strong, I would cast aside the high one from the November 30th on a track listed as good. Some horses just run well on the off going. RED LA ROSA - This racer hasn't shown too much in the last couple of events. This filly hasn't had any positive efforts in sprint races in the last sixty days. FOXY MISS - Long breather, then came back and finished fifth. Tough to expect much better this time around. I'd like to see better recent showings with morning line odds of 6/1.
Top HatGUEST COMMENTARY: The Brain - TOM AND ED'S GIRL - Consider this. Finished seventh on a sloppy track last time out. With better footing today, I'd expect a 30 pct improvement in power.

# 4 CALLMECASH 6/1
# 8 BARTOLOME MURILLO 12/1
# 6 BEAU DAN 5/1
CALLMECASH is my choice. Has competitive Equibase Speed Figures and has to be considered for a wager in this race. Had one of the strongest speed figures of this field in his last race. BARTOLOME MURILLO - This choice will feel the med change - on Lasix today. Will make a strong outing versus this lot. BEAU DAN - Very strong try today with second time Lasix.

Bad Boy Mowers Gasparilla Bowl Temple vs. Florida International Preview and Predictions
By Gracenote for Scores and Stats
by Gracenote on 12/08/2017
BAD BOY MOWERS GASPARILLA BOWL STORYLINES
1. Temple coach Geoff Collins will see a familiar uniform on the opposing sideline Dec. 21 in St. Petersburg, Fla. when the Owls take on Florida International in the Gasparilla Bowl. Collins was the defensive coordinator for the Golden Panthers in 2010, as FIU captured a conference title and went on to win the Little Caesars Pizza Bowl. In his first season with the Owls, Collins guided the team to a 3-1 finish down the stretch to secure a fourth straight bowl berth for the team's seniors, the winningest class in school history.
2. Neither Temple nor FIU is a particularly high-scoring team as the Owls rank 96th nationally in points while the Panthers are 75th. However, both teams closed with strong offensive performances as Temple scored a season-high 43 points in a regular season-ending win against Tulsa while FIU put up 104 points in its final two wins over Western Kentucky and Massachusetts. Frank Nutile gave the Owls a boost at quarterback over the final five weeks while counterpart Alex McGough was an improved player for the Panthers during the second half of the season.
3. Perhaps the key for Temple will be its ability to stop FIU inside the red zone. The Panthers led the nation in scoring percentage in the red zone with 39 scores in 40 trips while the Owls' red-zone defense was far from great, holding their opponent scoreless on just 13 percent of red-zone trips. In addition to McGough, FIU has three running backs who carried the ball at least 70 times this season and have combined for more than 1,600 yards and 15 touchdowns.
TV: 8 p.m. ET, ESPN. LINE: Temple -7
ABOUT TEMPLE (6-6, 4-4 American Athletic): The Owls turned to Nutile in late October and, with the exception of one bad game against undefeated UCF, the junior quarterback finished with nine touchdowns and two interceptions down the stretch. Adonis Jennings and Keith Kirkwood each finished with 39 catches and seven touchdowns for Temple, while Isaiah Wright contributed 41 catches and three scores. Wright also averaged 8.4 yards per carry on 23 attempts, but David Hood and Ryquell Armstead - who combined for about 1,100 yards and eight scores - typically handle the bulk of the running duties for Temple.
ABOUT FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL (8-4, 5-3 Conference USA): McGough threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns against UMass in the regular-season finale, helping FIU set a school record for total yards (674) while matching the mark for wins in a season (eight). The Panthers racked up 379 rushing yards and six TDs on the ground, with Alex Gardner and Napoleon Maxwell each scoring twice and McGough adding 108 yards and a touchdown. Bryce Singleton, who entered the regular-season finale with 10 catches for 112 yards and no touchdowns, erupted for six receptions for 111 yards and three scores against the Minutemen.
PREDICTION: Temple 33, Florida International 30

Jim Feist's Comp Pick, Thursday, December 21, 2017
12/21 05:00 PM PT / 8:00 PM ET
CF (215) TEMPLE VS (216) FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL
Take: over
Reason: Your free play for Thursday, December 21, 2017 is in the College Bowl game between Temple and Florida International. Another Bowl game that slightly favors one team as this game being played at St Petersburg, FL and Florida International from Miami. Slight edge to FIU. Temple comes South and will play on artificial turf. FIU played well on the fake stuff, going 8-2 S/U and 6-3 ATS. I give an edge here in coaching to FIU who has Butch Davis while Temple has first year coach Geoff Collins. Temple has been scoring good amount of points lately and that has resulted in 5-0 O/U in their last five games. In addition, the Owls are 11-5 O/U their last 16 vs a teams with a winning record. The Golden Panthers have also been a good over team of late, going over in their last four games. I think we'll see plenty of points scored in this one tonight. Play the OVER.
