WE look to stay hot in the NBA after moving to 7-2 in our last nine plays.
Here’s our best bets for the action ahead:
Boston Celtics @ Minnesota Timberwolves
The Boston Celtics have looked like the team that were touted to win the East for the majority of the season and that’s thanks to a huge improvement in their offensive efficiency.
Since returning form the All-Star break they’ve gone 5-1 straight up, and against the spread, and have averaged 116.5 points per game – a huge increase on their season average.
The biggest concern here is whether Kyrie Irving is cleared to return from a knee injury after he was left out of the squad that comfortably dealt with the Bulls last time out.
While Irving’s absence will certainly play a part in what the market does we’re still siding with Boston based on their defence remaining a critical component when matching up with this Minnesota outfit.
The T’wolves meanwhile haven’t got that same ability to slow down opponents, especially in the absence of Jimmy Butler. Since the All-Star break they’ve gone 2-3 and have only won (and covered) against sub-.500 teams in Chicago and Sacramento.
They’ve allowed a worrying 109.6 points per game in that stretch and have failed to hold any of their opponents to under 100 points. In fact, going back further, they’ve allowed 114.5 points per game in their last 10 starts – although that was aided by that crazy game in Cleveland where they gave up 140.
The Celtics are still 4-2 with Irving this season, including an impressive win against the Raptors as well as their last start in Chicago where they took their foot off the pedal the entire fourth quarter.
Boston has won four of the last five meetings between these teams and our projections show them picking up the W at least 61% of the time without Irving, so we’ll take this value now and have our odds boosted dramatically should he be cleared to play.
Tip: Boston Celtics @ $1.81 (Pinnacle) (1.5 units)

IT was a rare losing day in the NHL for us but we’re ready to bounce back in a big way once again.
