FRANK’S CUTTING ROOM FLOOR FOR THURSDAY, 9/16:
My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Thursday night is the Houston Astros with the money-line versus the Texas Rangers listing both starting pitchers Luis Garcia (a pitching change from Framber Valdez) and Glenn Otto. Houston (85-60) has won two of the first three games in this series after their 7-2 victory against the Royals yesterday. The Astros have now won 7 of their last 9 games against teams not winning more than 40% of their games. Houston has also won 9 of their last 11 games against the Rangers. Texas (54-91) has lost 8 of their last 11 games at home. The Rangers have also lost 25 of their last 35 games against teams with a winning record. Take Houston with the money-line listing both starting pitchers. Best of luck — Frank.

Play: Club Tijuana +0.5 (-130)
The ninth set of matches in the Liga MX Apertura gets underway with Club Tijuana visiting Atletico San Luis. Tijuana comes off its first win of the season but has dropped two of its three road games and tying one. San Luis has yet to win at home and probably won't see that change tonight since the visitors come in confident off a much-needed victory and haven't tasted defeat in their last three trips into the Estadio Alfonso Lastras. Take the half goal and ride Club Tijuana to hang around on the road.

Play: Antonio Gibson over 70.5 rushing yards
After 20 attempts in week one resulting in 90 yards against the Chargers, I believe we're in for an even better week from Gibson when the Football team plays host to the Giants. Gibson was banged up late in their game against the Chargers, which forced him to be a “limited participant” in Monday's practice. All questions about his health should be answered as it seemed his lighter practice on Monday was just a maintenance day, and he's back at full participation in practice ahead of their TNF game. Ron Rivera has said, “I think he’s ready to handle it, and it was also the flow of the game,” Rivera said via Ben Standig of TheAthletic.com. Gibson rushed 20 times in week 1, and it sounds like he'll be just as active against a team with the 4th worst rushing defence to start the season. Adding all of this together, QB Fitzpatrick is sidelined for the Football team, and with Heinicke's rushing ability, it's expected to open up lanes for Gibson. With Heinicke jumping into the started spot for Washington to play a bit more conservative out the gate, Heinicke has a great arm, don't get me wrong, but they have great RB's and receivers that can extend plays on short passes.
Play Gibson OVER 70.5 rushing yards.
