J’VILLE-HOUSTON “OVER”
It’s not hard to identify the predominant “totals” pattern in
Houston Texans games. It’s “over”, which is how we’re
recommending this Monday’s game against the Jacksonville
Jaguars. The Texans are “over” 9 of 11 this season, 6 of their
last 7 at Reliant Stadium, and “over” 22-9-1 their last 32 games
since latte in the ‘06 campaign. The last three meetings vs. the
Jags have gone “over” as well. And J’ville has an “over” trend of
its own on the road, standing 11-2 “over” its last 13 as a visitor!

TECHNICIAN'S CORNER

JACKSONVILLE at HOUSTON (Monday, December 1)...Houston
“over” 22-9-1 last 32 since late ‘06. Last three “over” in series.
Texans have covered 5 of last 6 hosting Jags. Tech edge-“Over”
and Texans, based on “totals” and series trends.

4 Unit Play. #514 Take Kansas over Kent State (9:00 pm ESPN U) The Jawhawks have the major edge in talent and will take care of business tonight @ Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, KS. The Golden Flashes lost both games in South Padre Island and will struggle in this game as well. Both losses came against mediocre teams in Illinois and Texas A & M, but tonight they will get a major step-up in class. The Hawks will stop Al Fisher and in essence that will stop Kent State.

Ai Simulator 3* graded play on LA Kings - Supporting this graded play is a strong system that has produced a record of 39-21 making 21.6 units since 2002. Play against any team against the money line off a home win by 2 goals or more, a bad team sporting a win percentage of just 30% to 40% playing a team with a losing record. Toronto is in a poor role noting they are 32-48 against the money line (-24.7 Units) when playing against a team with a losing record over the last 3 seasons. Take the Kings.

Houston vs. Jacksonville

Neither of these teams are going anywhere as both teams are 4-7, but this should make for a good game. Note that Garrard is listed as probable while Schaub is listed as probable. The Texans just come off a big win on the road at Cleveland while Jacksonville comes off a rout of a loss to the Vikings at home to a tune of 12-30. The Vikings by the way are rolling as the got revenge on the Bears at home this week. Note that this is a division game as well and Jacksonville beat this team in overtime back in late September so this is a big revenge game for Houston. Heck, they will get up for this game as Houston is actually a very tough place to play - ask the Colts who roll up their each year and Houston gives them a tough time each time around. Jacksonville did win at Denver, Indianapolis and Detroit this year. In fact, they have fared much better on the road than at home. Jacksonville is ranked 22nd on offense and 14th on defense while Houston is ranked 4th in offense and 20th in defense in the league - with their pass defense being 14th but their run defense 23rd and they are 27th in points allowed. I expect the Jags to run the ball a lot this game and Houston to look to airing the ball out. I lean slightly on the under here but frankly, no lean on the side.

Game: Minnesota at Charlotte (7:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: Minnesota +3.5 (-110)

Both of these teams are starved for the win right now. Both teams also see this as a very winnable game. The Bobcats have covered four-straight games, but they did lose ATS to the T-Wolves last year as they won by just two at home. They haven't been as good in their building this year as they were last season when they posted a 21-20 mark. It has been a learning process for the Bobcats, getting used to new Coach Brown's offense and the wins haven't been as prevalent - even at home. The T-Wolves sense a winnable game here on a court where they have had success. The Wolves notched a six-point win and cover here two years ago, then lost by just two and got the cover here last year. I like the T-Wolves in a rare winnable road game for them.

Jaguars +3 over Texans
I bet the NFL wishes they could change this MNF matchup between two teams that have not played up to their ability. The Jags defense has not looked as good this season and Houston well they are the same old Houston. Looking at this matchup Jacksonville has a little bit more on the defensive line and should run the ball well with both of their backs. Look for Garrard to take care of the football and lead his team to the road win.

6:00:00 PM UNDER 5.5 GOALS(5.5) COLUMBUS BLUE JACKETS -vs- Vancouver Canucks

NHL Top Game - As usual, when a key player goes down for a team there tends to be an over-reaction by both the odds makers and the sports bettors. In this case, we see great value to be able to play the under 5.5 rather than a 5 with this match-up Monday in Columbus. Even though the Canucks are without their goalie, and captain, Roberto Luongo, they have two solid options available to them right now. Rookie goalie Cory Schneider was fantastic in his NHL debut on Saturday even though the Canucks ended up on the wrong end of a 3 to 1 final. Also, regular #2 goalie Curtis Sanford has been solid this season with a 3-2 record and a 2.66 GAA and a .910 save percentage. Sanford also has fantastic career numbers against the Blue Jackets with a 1.94 GAA and a stellar .931 save percentage! Whether Sanford or Schneider gets the call here, we feel like another strong performance between the pipes is on tap. As for the Blue Jackets, they have already announced that Steve Mason is getting the start in goal tonight and what a job he’s been doing! Mason is 5-2-1 with a 2.09 GAA and a sparkling .919 save percentage this season! The Blue Jackets have tallied just 14 goals in their last six games while the Canucks have scored three goals or less in 9 of their last 11 games. Additionally, the Blue Jackets are just 2 for 49 on the power play in their last ten games. The Canucks power play was just 7 for 59 in November. This one certainly has all the makings of a tight, defensive struggle and with the added value of this total being a 5.5 rather than a 5 this one easily got pushed up to our top play rating!

ASA 5* selection on UNDER 5.5 goals in Columbus on Monday Night!

Magic/Celtics Over 189.5 (POD)

Nets Outright over Suns Yesterday.
4-1-1 Last 3 Days in NBA.
60% thus far in College Basketball 2008-2009. M
Let's Roll.

Well, defense meets offense here. If you think the Magic are going to be active dogs in this baby, I would recommend the over and if you think the Celtics are going to win and win big, I would certainly recommend the under. But, note that the Knicks, Warriors and Hawks all took this team the limit at Boston and they consequently went over. Thus, I am going to roll with the over in this game because one way or another, I think the Celtics put up a 100 in this game, in part it could be because of revenge as the Celtics lost to this team 96-93 against the Magic in January and Boston took 2 of 3 from this Boston team last year, not to mention that if Orlando is an active dog that should certainly push this total as over as well. Consequently, I think this game is very similar to the Hawks vs. Celtics and I expect this to go over 200 today. The over is 6-2 for these two teams in Boston of late.

Twolves +145
Sometimes, you just have to buck up and roll with some moneyline plays. Look, we just had the Nets win outright yesterday, we had the Blazers win outright over the Pistont last week and many dogs that we have actually win outright. Do I really think the 3.5 points will make the difference? I don't think so. I think we can go ahead and make a calculated risk here for the 3 units and gain 4.5 units. Note, that Charlotte is favored by more than 70% of the public here and I have no idea why. Sure, this team is a small chalk at home, but this is the same team that is 4-7 at home not to mention Minny comes off a loss to Denver at home and have beaten the likes of the Pistons outright on the road as well as Philly at home. Call me crazy, but I think the Twolves win this baby outright as this is a solid public fade as well. The Bobcats come off a tough loss to Boston but I simply think the Twolves end up winning this game as with the likes of Jefferson, Foye, Miller and Gomes this team is dynamic. The Twolves are 4-1 ATS against teams on the road of late and the Bobcats are 1-7-1 ATS agianst teams with a winning % of less than 40% meaning they are making the grade in games they are "supposed" to win.

Arkansas State +3

I like the Sycamores here. Note that there are several things that work in the Sycs favor here including the fact that they are 4-1 coming into this gme, there is plenty of off-shore money moving in on the public road dog here which is a sign that they will be strong today, there is no prior history between these two meetings, Arkansas State is 2-1 away from home, not to mention this team is 4-0 ATS including winning outright at Ball State and Tennessee Martin. Heck, this team even beat Murray State as well. Indiana State has lost to Murray State already this year at home by 6 and not to mention that this team has yet to win a game. Look, this team has yet to win a game and faces a very tough team in Arkansas State here. Remember, this team is led by Coach John Brady the old coach of LSU and this team is returning 3 quality starters not to mention a total of five seniors. Arkansas State has looked good with some vet leadership and good coaching, give me the undefeated ATS team here.

San Francisco +17.5

San Fran is a better team than most people give them credit for. Heck, this is a rivalry in many ways, this San Fran team will not play a much bigger team than USC this year so they will get up for it, USC comes off a big win over Tennessee-Martin so they could be overvalued here, and San Fran only lost to Cal by 13 on the road and I think picked up a lot of experience in that game. This team essentially returns 3 starters and a solid sixth man in Christian Hernandez and their coached by former Kansas star Rex Walters who nearly went on to become the coach at Mercer but was highly recruited eslewhere. This is Rex's first year in San Fran and I see the Dons hanging tough most of the way here.
