We cashed the Ravens as our AFC Playoff GOY last week and will back them again this week as our #1 Conference Championship Play for many of the same reasons. Namely, they are getting points in a game where there will not be a lot of scoring.Granted, Pittsburgh matches up better with Baltimore (beat them twice during the regular season) than did the Titans, but were getting more points this week! The Steelers point differential of +8 PPG this year is skewed because of four games against Cleveland and Cincinnati where they outscored the opposition by a combined 106-26.Six of their wins came by a touchdown or less. Turnovers win playoff games and no one takes the ball away more from their opponents than the Ravens, who have 21 INT's in their last 10 games. Steelers QB Roethlisberger threw 11 picks during the regular season and has offensive line issues. Joe Flacco actually had a better QB rating. Pittsburgh dropped from 3rd to 23rd in rushing rank from last year while the Ravens now average nearly 150 yards per game on the ground. Both Steelers wins over the Ravens came in comeback fashion and easily could have gone the other way. Pittsburgh is 0-9 ATS after scoring 35+ points in their last game. Baltimore has covered seven of eight road games and eight of nine conference games. They are 9-0 ATS all-time off a road win by three points or less. Pittsburgh went just 5-4 ATS at Heinz Field this year. Our revenge angle is in play here (both teams must have win percentage of .600 to .750) and moves to 23-5 ATS if the revenger scored nine or less points in the loss. Finally, we note that non-#1 seeds have lost outright five times in eight opportunities (2-6 ATS) since the playoff format was realigned. Baltimore is our Conference Championship Game of the Year.

Eagles/Cardinals Under 47
The Cardinals are coming off the biggest win in team history last week where their defense played awesome and they put in a flawless performance on offense. The Eagles took advantage of a bad game by Eli Manning and shocked the Giants in New York. Both teams are as hot as it gets now, but the defenses are really on fire. Philadelphia will blitz Kurt Warner all day and make his very uncomfortable. Warner hates pressure are is a very bad QB when teams bring it. Brian Westbrook is more banged up then the team will let on and I do not see him being an explosive threat if he gets the ball in open space. Other than Westbrook the Eagles really have no offensive weapons. There is tremendous pressure on McNabb to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl and I do not think the same performance on offense as they did a few weeks ago when they destroyed Arizona in Philly. Look for a normal paced game, but this total is too high. Take the Under.

Pittsburgh -6 over Baltimore
Two things that impressed me about Baltimore this season is the play of rookie Joe Flacco and the defense living up to their name despite a ton of injuries. Baltimore might be without Rolle and Suggs on defense today. Its just a matter of time before they just cannot keep up playing lights out defense with so many injuries. Pittsburgh defense is going put a lot of pressure on Flacco in cold conditions. I believe this line was set this high for a reason. Pittsburgh should win this game with ease. Baltimore plays great defense so to be getting six points seems like a huge bargain, but if you look more into it you will see that they are also nicked up on offense with Mason and really could be in for a long day today. The public money is all over the Ravens who are the Underdog which never is good for dog bettors. Lay the points with Pittsburgh.

Game: Phoenix at Toronto (12:35 PM Eastern)
Pick: Toronto +3 (-110)

Toronto has lost four straight and their defense is playing very poorly. Phoenix is coming to town and the Suns are off two straight losses so it's time to get healthy against the lowly Raptors, right? Not so fast. While 8-14 on the road, the Raptors are not horrible at home where they are outscoring opponents on average. They are going to score and reach triple digits here fairly easily against the Suns' horrible defense. Phoenix is giving up 103.2 per game on the season on the road and nearly 106 per game over their last five games. So as bad as Toronto's defense has been playing, the Raptors have the best defense on the court ithis afternoon. This is a letdown spot for Phoenix as they undoubtably view themselves as the superior team. And the Suns are very prone to let downs. They are just 3-11 ATS this season vs. teams with losing records! They are 2-10 ATS vs. teams that allow 100+ points per game. I like the home dog here.

4 Unit Play. Take Under 47 between Philadelphia Eagles @ Arizona Cardinals (Sunday @ 3pm est). We have done wonders being selective in the NBA and CBB and there is no reason to stop now. If we can go 1-0 on the weekend in the NFL and pick up +4 Units of profit, I am more than willing. After all, if had selected 4 picks and flat bet them to go 2-2, we would only lose the juice with these extremely tight lines. I believe as the weeks progress in the NFL Playoffs, you hit the one weak line and you simply roll with it. Remember, we have worked that strategy sound success doing just 1 POD per day in the NBA and CBB currently. As per this game, I will be rooting for the Eagles. Look, in many ways this is a magical year for them. Sure, it can be argued that it is a magical year for the Cardinals, but we have known that Cardinals are going to make it to the playoffs for nearly 6 weeks. Think about it, the Cardinals division was horrible and frankly, if there are a few more weeks in the division, the 49ers would have won this division. In fact, expect next year for the 49ers to win this division. The Cardinals played well against Carolina in part b/c Jake Delhomme stinks and the Panthers simply did not get up for a Cardinals team that took the early lead and never looked back. Well, the Eagles are a bit different. This team owes most of its success to McNabb himself. Although the Eagles are favored in this game, in many ways they will see themselves are underdogs. After all, it took a miracle in a series of losses to even have the Eagles make it to the playoffs despite a tie. The last time these two teams hooked up it was on Thanksgiving Weekend when McNabb took a lot of heat in the media. He used that to come on national television to trounce the Cardinals by a final score of 48-20 at home. Well, I believe the Cardinals will use that spanking to get fired up at home. I also believe the Eagles will take it as a challenge to stop this high octane Cardinal offense. And, when the Eagles use that dog tag mentally, they do very well. Andy Reid and Defensive Coordinator will make certain that this team plays with that "dog" mentality because they know as a team they do far better as a dog. Heck, in the heart of hearts, several of these coaches are thrilled that this is a road game for the Eagles and not a home game as they respond better with that edge. Remember, the Eagles defeated the likes of the Giants on the road twice and simply feed off emotion. I will be rooting for the Eagles today as they have a "team concept" that refreshing and I would love to shove this up T.O.'s backside to see this team make it to just make it to the Super Bowl. The Eagles realize the only way to get there is by a passionate defense that swarms to the ball and this team will have that edge today as the Eagles coaching staff will not make the same mistakes as the Panthers nor will McNabb make the same mistakes as Jake Delhomme. The Cardinals of course, will be at home and they will not allow nearly 50 points to the Eagles as they did last time around on Thanksgiving day weekend so I expect the public to take a loss here as this game dips under. The Under is 7-1-1 in the last 7 Playoff games for the Eagles and the under is 4-0 in the last 4 road playoff games for the Eagles. I believe the line of -4/+4 has thrown a wrench into who covers this game, but more importantly, I feel that this game likely goes under.
