Take Under 10 As @ Rangers

We're on the Under in Arlington for this evening as Millwood is once again is on the mound. Bear in mind that Millwood comes off his worst outing of the year, which although wasn't that bad, is still rough considered by Millwood standards this year. You have to feel for Big Kevin as he is 1-2 but with a 2.1era as he is facing the aces of other staffs. He gets a bit of a breather against Anderson today who is not an ace to say, but Anderson too is on a bounce-back. The young man had a rough outing against Seattle in his first start, came back for a solid start against Boston at home giving up just 2 earned runs in 7 innings, and then got shelled against the Yankees. Millwood the Midland, Texas native gave up just 5 hits in 7 innings but still picked up the loss against the hot Jays on the road. With the total at 10, I'll bank on both pitchers to have bounce-backs as although Anderson can be shaky he has the potential to put together a quality start as he picks his game up against Millwood. The Under is 4-1 when the A's face a total of 9 to 10.5 and the Under is 6-0-1 in Millwood's last 7 home starts.

The Cubbies are a hurting bunch and continue to play bad baseball right now. They have lost 5 of the last 6, and are 4-7 in their last eleven. The DBacks, the choice of many to win the NL West, have not put a scare into anyone yet, but they now have won 2 in a row. I like their pitcher, Yus Petit. He is stingy on the walks. This is a good spot for this team to make it 3 straight.



3-Unit Play Take #920 Cleveland Indians -105 over Boston Red Sox (7:05pm)

No, I do not believe in the due factor. I just believe that at this stage in his career, Brad Penny does not have much left in the tank. Yes, he is 2-0, but his 7.80 ERA tells a tale. Notice that the oddsmakers didn’t bite either, as they made this an even game. Reyes has been a pretty effective fifth starter for the Indians. He will be facing the Red Sox for the first time in his career. Sox streak ends at 11.

Rays now 8-12 on the young season and need to get a streak going. Last night was a start. James Shields is going in this one for them. He is in the top five in the AL. The oddsmakers opened the Rays as a “dog” last night. Early morning money has now made them a small fav. I will bite! The Twins counter with Liriano who has a 7.06 ERA. He has yet to control his fastball. Rays need to win now if they are going to challenge. They are playing aggressive ball as they lead the majors with 24 stolen bases.

3-Unit Play #543 Take Philadelphia +8 ½ Over Orlando (7:30 p.m. EST, Tuesday)

The Magic have been vastly overrated by the oddsmakers in this series as is evidenced by the 4-0 ATS record for Philly in this one. We think this is a combination of Orlando’s inexperience in big games, a Philly team with nothing to lose and a public who will back the favorite at any line. The Sixers have played extremely tough every game and they are firmly in this series and we expect another stellar effort tonight. Get a win here and they can have the chance to close out the series at home. We don’t think they will win, but we think they continue to play hard and with the attitude that they can win here. The Sixers are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 in Orlando and the underdog is 27-11 ATS in the last 38 meetings.



4-Unit Play #545 Take Dallas +5 Over San Antonio (9:30 p.m. EST, Tuesday)

The Mavs are just playing better basketball and we see this as a close game that the Mavs have a chance to win straight up. This series has been all Dallas except for the one game where the Spurs seemed to have a funnel dropping down into the basket as they shot over 53 percent, seven percentage points more than their season average. Other than that the Spurs just seem uninterested in this one and don’t seem to have that spark that has helped them to great success in the past. Dallas has now covered four of the last five meetings. We expect this to be a low scoring game as both teams play solid defense and that makes the points for the underdog even more valuable.



4-Unit Play #547 Take Houston +5 ½ Over Portland (10 p.m. EST, Tuesday)

The underdog has been the play in every game in this series and we think that trend continues tonight. Besides a Game 1 blowout by Houston every game in this series has been close. When a team goes down 3-1 in most cases that takes a lot of the fight out of them and we think the Rockets have a very good chance to win this straight up. We also expect this one to be a defensive battle and that makes the points for the underdog even more valuable. Brandon Roy is also having struggles with being sick and that could affect his game although we still like Houston at this number even if he is 100%.

4 Unit Pick Take Oakland (+130) over Texas

Kevin Millwood and the Texas Ranger's return home after 4-3 road trip and a win last night in Baltimore. Millwood has been good early on going seven innings or more in all four start's. In 30 inning's he has give up 7 runs, just 6 walks and 17 strike out's, four of the seven runs was giving up in his last start at Toronto. Millwood faces a lineup that has had success against him vs Oakland highlighted by Orlando Cabrera who is batting .305 lifetime vs Millwood. Millwood will oppose rookie Brett Anderson who grew up close to Arlington in Lubbock and should have plenty of family and friends on hand tonight. Anderson struggled in his last start at New York only lasting 5 innings and giving up 5 runs. This kid is sharp and will struggle at times this year, but he does have talent. The Texas lineup has been missing Josh Hamilton with bruised ribs and Ian Kinsler sat last night with fatigue. I like Oakland tonight with this value


3 Unit Pick Take San Francisco (+150) over L.A. Dodgers

Dodgers ace Chad Billingsley takes the mound in game two tonight of this series of to a great start to this season pitching 26 1/3 innings giving up just 14 hits while striking out 26 . Fifteen day's ago against this same Giant's lineup he went 7 inning's gave up one run on five hit's and struck out 11, he is 3-0 with a 2.88 era vs San Fran in his career. In that game he faced Randy Johnson and was a hefty (-180) favorite, now on the road their is a twenty cent adjustment to face Jonathan Sanchez after having his last start skipped due to rain. Sanchez is a hard throwing left hander who is someone who is not consisted yet, but if you pick the right spot's for this kid you could turn a nice profit, I would look to play him at home and I think tonight is a ideal spot, I think Billingsley is due for a bad one and I like how this Giant's is starting to play winner's of six of their last seven.


2 Unit Pick Take New York Yankees (+100) over Detroit

The Yankees have called up Phil Hughes making the start for Chien-Ming Wang, Hughes after a good spring went to the minors and continued to pitch well with a 1.86 era allowing four runs on 17 hit's with 19 strike out's in 19 2/3 innings in three start's. He will face a guy New York has handled in the past in Edwin Jackson who has posted a 5.80 era in nine career start's and a 6.85 era his last three vs them. I think the Yank's will get a much needed good start out of Hughes and be able to handle Jackson.
