Hes fun to watch. I like it. When he gets off the suspention, I think he can help. He will be tough in that Wildcat formation.

He is better than Kevin Kolb, so its definatly an upgrade in the backup QB position.

Its funny though, Im watching the eagles game, and they didnt break the news until about 30-35 minutes after I heard it flipping over to the ARZ/Pitt game on ESPN.

I never would have thought we would have signed him though.

1.6 million for the first year with a option for the second year of 5.1 million

Seems a little high but none of it is guaranteed

I personally think he should have been made an example out of and not been able to return to the NFL. Now all your NFL guys see this and they don't care what they do. They know they'll be able to play again no matter what. I'm just not a fan of Vick and I hope when the Cowboys play them he gets in and they put him out for the season.. (sorry Zak)

He will be back in week 3.

NFL commissioner Roger Goodell announced Thursday afternoon that Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick will be eligible to play in the third week of the regular season.

Goodell and Vick had met Thursday morning for 45 to 50 minutes in New Jersey to discuss when Vick might be reinstated.

"Hopefully we can have a success story here, which would be good for society in general," Goodell said. "He's realsitic about the challenges ahead. And anxious to play football."

Goodell said he did discuss with Vick the report that he was seen drinking an alcoholic beverage in a hotel restaurant. Goodell said it's not a violation of his probation.

"We discussed it with Michael today. It highlights the tremendous microscope this man is under," Goodell said. "He understands he has little margin for error. It served as a useful lesson."

The Eagles play the New York Jets in their final preseason game Thursday night at the Meadowlands. Eagles coach Andy Reid said backup Kevin Kolb will start the game, and Vick would get in during the first half, as well as start the second half.

Goodell said on Tuesday that he has been talking to Vick on a weekly basis. "A lot of those issues I'm focusing on are off the field," Goodell said. "How is he dealing with the transition? ... Does he have the right people around him helping him make decisions?"

I just seen this that means McNabb will be on the bench by week 6 instead of week 12

I really think the Eagles will start out 0-2 this season. Just in time for Vick.

I feel for McNabb .I never really cared for him but the man has taken a lot of shit over the years and all he has done is play his ass off for Philly

We do this to every great athlete we ever have. McNabb, Mike Schmidt. Even Iverson, and Eric Lindros. Shit, last year, we were all over Jimmy Rollins for a while, and we won the World Series.

Im guilty of it too sometimes. I get mad as shit at McNabb sometimes, but I know he is the best chance we have, and the best QB the Eagles ever had.
