You should have a long MMA career

Bert dropped like a set of 35 inch buckshots off the rack at Sam's Club.

I was impressed by Rogers. I thought that shit was over the first time they hit the ground.

Rookie mistake? Bart was throwing a punch he didn't have his hands down. Still he was more impressive than I expected. I expected him to be Houston Alexander on the ground and he wasn't at all. I think he'll be a handful for anyone he fights.

My boy called it about 30 seconds before that KO. He said straight right or overhand right is wide open.

I was, too. Definitely a little concerned. I had between straight bets and parlays I had 8.5u riding on Fedor. Luckily, he came through. But I definitely agree that Rogers impressed. Gotta watch out for this guy. Honestly, I thought maybe the stoppage was just a tad early.

Did anyone see the the Fight Camp 360 thing for Rogers? He actually seemed like a pretty nice guy and responsible family man. I never really liked the guy but I think I'm a fan now.

Yeah, I saw 360, was a good piece.

I can respect the guy. All he wants to do is provide a better life for his family.

BRETT not bart not bert

Are you freaking blind ? He walked up to Fedor wiht his hands down and threw a left with his right hand clear down by his waist.Thats not how you throw a punch . He should have had his right hand up and when he threw the left been moving to his left and he would have never been hit

Again rookie mistake

Nice try Bert ::handshake::

The Bert thing is a play on what Dana White was calling him.

Anyone think Fedor looked just slightly bewildered inside a cage?

Also, the Strikeforce cage is fucking small.

Yeah, that first time he was up against the cage, he looked like he paused for a few seconds and was thinking about it.

off topic, I havent watched a fight in a long time where my heart was beating fast. I was hyped up watching that one last night. The crowd was great in Chicago too, they sounded so lout with surround sound on.

Last time I felt like that was Mir/Lesnar 1.

My man Mir takes his arm home.

Serious though, I would LOVE to see him fight Carwin.

Perhaps it was a rookie mistake if this were boxing but Ben Rivers was also expecting Fedor to take him down as he had already done a few times before. And yeah I believe Brad was a bit gassed at that point at well, and also surprised at how quick Fedor threw that punch.

As far as "early stoppage" goes, this picture should put that to rest. Brent Rutgers was done.

As far as money wise, I didn't do much on this event. My Sportsbook account was all tied up in future bets, and I just had my bookmaker and they don't do parlays so I put a few units on Mousasi at -470, which basically covered my small play on Mayhem. Too bad too. A 4 fight main card parlay on the favorite would've been tits.

Agreed. Sean Carwin vs Brian Roper would be a total slugfest. They're both enormous with big power.

BTW, remember how Rogers was calling out Kimbo when EliteXC was still around? How do you think that fight would go now? ::lmao::

At that point, the fight was over. No need to jump back up. But I watched it as it went down and Rogers was still fully conscious and appeared, at least to me, to be improving his position.

I'm not saying it wasn't over and for the sake of my bets I'm glad it was. But as an MMA fan, I would've liked to have seen a few more punches before it was called just to make sure.

It was similar to the Maia/Marquardt stoppage imo. Sure Maia rolled right back over as if to retain guard, but the fight was over.

I'll just say that you just never know, man . . . you just never know. . .

There have been plenty of fights where if it were stopped at a particular time then everyone would've said what a "good stoppage" it was. But the ref let it go on and there was a great comeback and the guy who appeared to be finished won in the end.

I'm sure you'd agree with this.

zY|

Yes, but he was in the fetal position with his hands over his head. That position says to the ref "No mas". He only rolled back over when Fedor stopped punching him. And like I said, do you think Maia/Marquardt was a bad stoppage? He rolled over immediately after Nate decided not to hit him again and was up on his feet within seconds.

I understand what you're saying though. A good recent example is Sakuraba/Galesic at DREAM 12. The beating Sakuraba was taking would've been stopped multiple times in the UFC or Strikeforce but Sakuraba endured and pulled out a kneebar. This fight doesn't qualify imo though.
