Thinking about Freire if he is still in the -255 range when 5dimes releases their odds.

2u on Patricio Freire @-280

6u on Patricio Pitbull Freire

Romero is a muy thai stylist. Pitbull is a bjj guy. But he has the nasty kind, palhares style. Romero just started training in MMA 2 years ago. That is not going to be nearly enough time to fend off a bjj blackbelt like Pitbull. Submission rd. 1.

LOL, we placed our bets at the exact same time. But you kind of just convinced me to raise my bet a little bit.

^^
we are either both really smart or both really dumb.

Carl could have value @ +160 too. His only loss is to Brian Foster. Cooper's big thing is that he beat Rory Markham in IFL. I think it is close to a pickem... but I am not betting that one.

Lots of chalk on this card. Bellator fights rarely go as planned. Who's going to upset out of this lineup?

Carl and Thomas are both live dogs IMO.

Carl only has one loss, to UFC's Brian Foster. Cooper is a vet, his big win is over Rory Markham in IFL. Carl hasn't beaten anyone, but Cooper doesn't have any dominant skills. This fight could easily go to Carl.

Tick Tock McClintock is supposed to be teh next big thing out of ACS. He is mostly a bjj fighter though. Thomas comes from a wrestling background. His wrestling is not enough to stop a guy like Askren, but it could be enough to stuff McClintock. If McClintock turns it into a grappling match, he is going to win. He is a brown belt now, but he won Pan Ams as a purple. Purple is no joke at Pan Ams, the kid can grapple. But I think Thomas has the well rounded skills to give him trouble if he can survive round 1, which is questionable.

Hornbuckle is borderline top 10 and Pitbull is fighting a pure striker, who was not even training MMA before Bellator called. They are both going to walk over their guys.

I'll be doing play by play on this for anyone who cares. At the very least my post count will rise.

Nevermind.

The scheduled programming is Bellator but Fox Sports is airing twenty questions with the Nashville Predators or some shit.

Fucking fail.

BTW congrats guys. Apparently Freire just won by inverted heel hook.

Fox sports airs different shit in different regions sometimes. It's supposed to be on but it's not.

I like the Bellator promotion and tourney style a lot. I wish this Bjorn guy was running the UFC.

On a side note, I called every fight tonight, should have been betting for value.

I thought about taking the dog bets you mentioned.

Good calls.

From what I hear though, Cooper was robbed.

Yeah, I scored it 2-1 for Cooper too... but it was pretty close, not a robbery.

yeah, both dogs won. I guess I can't really take credit, since I did think McClintock would win, just that Thomas had value. McClintock had his back early on, but Thomas got free and laid a beating on him.

Pitbull vs Reis is going to be interesting.

Pitbull vs Reis is going to be interesting.

that's what I love about the tournament. I think Reis will win... but Pitbull has better standup IMO.

Carl is going to catch a beating next round (Thomas, Askren, Hornbuckle). Hopefully he gets Thomas so the odds stay in the universe.

You looking at anything for next week? Ryan Mcgivern has 6 losses, all by submission (think Guillard). His opponent Jared Hess has only lost to Hector Lombard.

They'll most likely set up the Askren/Thomas rematch.

I saw that Askren/Thomas was confirmed. I think the line could be closer this time, because Thomas got cheated. But Askren was going to beat him anyway-- I actually think he would have went to sleep in about 5 seconds had the ref not jumped in.

Fox Sports is on basic DirectV and Dish Network. You have to find your local station, like FS Midwest, or FS Mountain... to me Fox Sports, Versus, and Big Ten Network are the reason to get satellite. The Big Ten network is awesome, they show college wrestling all the time, and the freestyle and greco US OPEN is on Saturday.

I have my picks for the next round of Bellator, but they are alot more difficult to call- line dependent.

I have not looked at next week's matchups yet.

I didn't think the choke was tight in the slightest. His head was just at an awkward angle.

But yeah, he's still going to lose again.

That is a "new" version of the arm in guillotine that everyone is hot on right now, kind of like the peruvian necktie a couple years back. Mark my words, you are going to see guys going for that a lot now. they were actually drilling it in the background on TUF this week.

I think it was pretty tight. His head was red, and Ben had him stretched out with his leg extended, which is the tell tale sign that you are screwed.
