We all saw Uruguay escape by the skin of their teeth last week with a hand ball on the goal line that prevented Ghana from winning. Uruguay will not have the support from any of the refs today who will be looking to give them yellow or perhaps red cards. I do not see it being good for World Cup soccer having a team get to the finals that way. The Netherlands have a solid defense that will frustrate Uruguays strikers. Look for a low scoring and lopsided penalties and free kicks in favor of the Netherlands. Once Holland gets the lead, they will play smothering defense. Take the Netherlands.

Take "(929) KANSAS CITY ROYALS"
Erik Bedard makes his first start for the last place Mariners. You never know how a pitcher will perform after such a long layoff and Bedard said he expects to be held to about 90 pitches in his first start for the Mariners. He topped out at 92 in his last rehab start, walking three in just 4.1 innings. The Mariners offense is terrible, last in the AL in runs, and they face an ace in Zack Greinke and the Royals are 3-1 his last 4 starts. An excellent spot for the visitors. Play the Royals.

HOU -139: Hard to say great value with HOU being one of the worst teams in the league. But HOU is 3-0 on the season none of which have been close as HOU is averaging over 6 runs per game. Better news for us is Rodriguez goes for HOU today and he is 3-0 at home vs the Pirates with a 3.26 ERA. Last two starts have been great as well going 2-0 giving up only 1 run over 13 innings. PIT turns to Lincoln who was good getting his first win in his rookie season. Hard to imagine he has such a good performance as PIT on the road are 11-32. Good value on super hot pitcher vs the worst road team in the league.

I've got a FREE winner for you today from the desert as I go ahead and play the Cubs on the road in Phoenix to take on the D'Backs.

The Cubs send their best pitcher to the hill tonight in Arizona in Carlos Silva (8-2, 2.96 ERA) who is looking to get back on the winning track after a long dry spell. The Cubs have already taken four of five from the Diamondbacks this season and expect them to make it five of six tonight.

Silva is 4-0 on the road with a 3.06 ERA. He hasn’t allowed more than three runs in a game since May 7, a streak of nine starts, including on Wednesday when he gave up two runs in 7.2 innings against the Reds, but his offense didn’t deliver and the Cubs fell 3-2. Chicago has lost each of his last four outings, but that’s no fault of Silva who hasn’t gotten much support.

For Arizona, Barry Enright is making just his second career start after beating the Cardinals in his debut a week ago.

Chicago is 4-1 in Silva’s last five roadies, 5-1 the last six times he’s faced a losing team and 5-2 when he gets four days off. The Cubs also dominate the N.L. West, winning eight of their last nine against that division.

Things have not been good for Arizona, firing its manager and general manager and they are currently riding negative streaks of 12-27 overall, 16-41 as underdogs, 8-21 against losing teams, 5-16 on Tuesday, 1-5 at home and 0-7 at home against losing teams.

The Cubs crushed the D’Backs on Monday, 9-4, and now they send Silva to the mound to shut down the Arizona bats again. I’ll load up on the Cubs in this one.

Armando Galarraga hasn’t looked like the guy who was robbed of a perfect game earlier this season, but this might be the perfect game to pitch, well, perfect. Though the right-hander has a 6.00 ERA since his controverSIAl one-hitter back on June 2, he has pitched well at home, where’s he’s 2-0 with a 2.22 ERA at Comerica Park.

The Tigers also come into this one with an American League-best home record of 28-12, and will be taking on the major league-worst Orioles, who are 25-57 on the year. Baltimore is the only team in the bigs that hasn’t won 30 games yet, and is sitting 26 games back of the AL East-leading Yankees.

The Orioles aren’t doing themselves any favors by handing the ball to Jake Arrieta, a rookie right-hander who is 0-2 with an 8.78 ERA in his last three starts after giving up four runs on seven hits and walking four in six frames last Thursday during an 8-1 loss to the Athletics.

Detroit will take it to the youngster, while Galarraga breaks out of his slump and handcuffs the Orioles’ weak lineup.

I am 37-19-1 on my last 57 free selections. I like the Los Angeles Angels and Jered Weaver today against Jake Peavy and the Chicago White Sox.

Both pitchers have been excellent, but Weaver could be the best pitcher in the American League. He has elevated himself to ace status this season. It's a joke he wasn't named to the All-Star team. He should be starting for the American League in his homepark.

Look for Weaver to be especially motivated after being snubbed. He's given up just two earned runs in his last three starts spanning 21 innings. He has a 28-to-3 strikeout-to-walk ratio during this span. Weaver entered this week leading the majors in strikeouts.

Weaver also has a very strong history versus Chicago. He's 4-0 lifetime against the White Sox with a 0.52 ERA and 33 strikeouts in 34 2/3 innings.

Peavy has been pitching well, too, but he did allow three runs to the Royals in his last start giving up seven hits in six innings. Peavy is 0-2 with a 5.79 ERA career-wise versus the Angels in 14 innings.

The Angels are the better hitting club ranking ninth in runs and 17th in batting average. The White Sox are 20th in runs scored and 23rd in batting average.

The Angels did lose the series-opener on Monday, but still have won 12 of their last 16 away games.

Pittsburgh at Houston

As bad a season this has been for the Astros, there are some bright spots looking at this game tonight.

The Astros have won 13 of 16 at home against the Pirates, while Pittsburgh has scored merely 13 runs in its last seven games at Minute Maid Park.

And now, Houston hands the ball to Wandy Rodriguez, and the Astros have won all five starts Rodriguez has made against the Pirates in Houston - while he’s gone 3-0 with a 3.26 ERA.

Most recently, the veteran southpaw has a 0.69 ERA in winning his last two starts.

This is too easy tonight.

Toronto will be glad to be home after a 10-game road trip which included three ‘home’ games in Philadelphia against the Phillies. The Blue Jays will host the Twins who come into tonight’s game as losers of three of their last four games. Toronto’s Jesse Litsch will make his fifth start of the season as he looks for his first victory of the year. The righty is coming off a solid outing against the Indians where he gave up just two runs in six innings of work. Litsch showed flashes of brilliance when shutting out the Giants for seven innings. He is 3-0 with a 3.10 ERA in five career starts against Minnesota. Justin Morneau (3-12), Jason Kubel (2-9), Jim Thome (0-5), and Joe Mauer (1-4) all struggle against Litsch. The Twins are 18-21 on the road where they are hitting just .256 as a team.

Minnesota’s Carl Pavano doesn't enjoy facing the Blue Jays. He gave up six runs and 10 hits over four innings pitched in an outing against Toronto earlier this season. He's 3-5 with a 6.22 ERA in 10 career starts against them. Vernon Wells (8-20), Adam Lind (4-12), Jose Molina (3-7), Edwin Encarnacion (2-5), and Fred Lewis (2-3) all hit Pavano the best. Toronto is 21-19 at home this season and 34-28 against right-handed starters whom they are averaging five runs per game against. Toronto has won six of the last nine meetings in Toronto against the Twins, so we expect another close game and recommend taking the Blue Jays on the run line in this game tonight.

Chicago Cubs at Arizona Diamondbacks
Prediction: Chicago Cubs

When the Cubs meet the Diamondbacks in Arizona this evening do so in a very favorable situation. That's because Carlos Silva enters tonight's contest in terrific KW form with four walks and 36 strikeouts in his last six starts, posting a sharp 2.23 ERA in those games. Unfortunately, all he's had to show for his efforts is a 2-4 team start mark in that span. On the flip side, Arizona's Barry Enright enters off his first-ever MLB win in his last start. With Silva disgruntled about not being named to the All-Star squad, look for him to improve to 5-1 in his last six road team starts here tonight. We recommend a 1-unit play on the Cubs.

BIG AL COMP

Yankees @ Athletics
PICK: Under 8

Both of the starting pitchers going to the hill for this game will be on the 2010 American League All-Star roster scheduled to take place in a week, and while nobody is surprised by the choice of New York's lefthander CC Sabathia, there are still plenty of baseball fans who have never heard of righthander Trevor Cahill, let alone realize that he's been selected for the midsummer classic. But if Cahill starts twice before Tuesday (once tonight and once on Sunday), he would be unavailable for the game anyway (due to the rule that a Pitcher is ineligible if he throws on the Sunday prior to the game). Dallas Braden's injury has necessitated the A's to go to a four-man rotation which means more work for Cahill, but also the possibility that he might not be able to pitch in Anaheim next Tuesday. But first things first, and Cahill needs to pitch well tonight because his team is still very much alive in the AL West division race. Pitching numbers don't get any better than these two have been performing lately with Sabathia going 6-0 with a 2.00 ERA in his last six starts while Cahill is 7-0 with a 2.12 ERA in his last nine starts. Something has to give tonight, and it will probably be at the expense of the hitters on these two teams. Heading into Tuesday night, the under was 7-3 in the last 10 games between these two played in Oakland. Take the 'under.'

BEN BURNS COMP

Netherlands @ URU
PICK: Under

I believe that this game has all the makings of a low-scoring contest. Uruguay didn't allow a single goal in Group play, scoring only four themselves. Uruguay beat South Korea by a 2-1 score in the Round of 16 but its last game vs. Ghana was 1-1 after regulation. That's a total of nine goals in five games, an average of 1.8 per game.

Netherlands scored five goals in group play, allowing one. Since then, the Dutch have seen last two games both finish with scores of 2-1. The most recent of those games was against Brazil - and its tough to shut them out. Previously, the game against Slovakia saw the Slovakians score on a penalty shot on the final play, otherwise that one would have finished with only two goals.

Looking more closely at the above results shows that neither one of these teams has allowed more than one goal, in any game. Uruguay has three shutouts. Holland has two.

We've got the choice of two lines here. We can get plus (+) money with the 'under' two goals. Or, we can lay extra juice to play at 'under' 2.5. I'm personally going to split my play between the two options.

These teams played once before in the World Cup. That 1974 match saw the Dutch win by a score of 2-0. I expect to see two or fewer goals once again. Consider the Under

Detroit Tigers -188

The Tigers starting pitcher Armando Galarraga has not pitched very well since his "near" perfect game, but I expect him to pitch well here against the Orioles. Galarrage should have plenty of run support to help him pick up the win in this game. The Tigers bats are hot and they will be facing the Orioles struggling rookie pitcher Jake Arrieta. Arrieta is 0-2 in his last three starts and has an ERA of 8.78 in that span. Arrieta has only struck out four batters in the last three games and has walked a total of ten. That is a bad combination against a Detroit team that is knocking the cover off of the ball right now and exploded for 12 runs in yesterday's game against the Orioles. Baltimore exploded for seven runs yesterday themselves (and still lost) but they usually don't provide their pitchers with much run support. Arrieta's margin for error against this Detroit lineup is very small and he has not shown that he is ready to shut down a quality lineup like Detroit. The Orioles have lost five of their last six games in Detroit and the Tigers are 9-0 in their last nine games as a home favorite of -$151 to -$200. Play on Detroit.

ANA (-105) vs CWS

Weaver has to be miffed about not making the All-Star team and I expect him to come out with an edge to him in this one. Weaver has a 0.86ERA in his last 3 outings and we've backed him successfully in 2 of them. He has given up just 2ER and 9H over the course of those 21IP w 28SO against 3BB. Wow. He leads the AL w 124SO. He owns the White Sox, posting a 0.52ERA against them in 5 lifetime starts and has given up just 1ER in 19.2IP at US Cellular. Peavy, though, has a 1.23ERA in his last 3 starts. However, on May 20th, LAA did beat him up for 6ER on 8H in 6IP. Sabermetrics backs us up here, as well. Weaver has a 2.89FIP (5th best in MLB) and 3.26xFIP (6th best in MLB). Peavy has a 4.10FIP and 4.14xFIP. The White Sox have won 19 of 24, but Weaver's a juggernaut at this point, and the Sox won't have enough to overcome a guy who even when not at his best, tortures the South Siders.

Game: Indiana at Chicago (8:00 PM Eastern)
Pick: Indiana -155 (moneyline)

This becomes a big game for Indiana who after last season's run to the WNBA Championship round, find themselves two full games behind Washington for second place in the East. The 9-6 record is good, but since they started 0-2, they have since gone 9-4. This team was out of the gate at 2-3, but has since only lost three games - all to teams with winning records, that combine for a 37-13 mark. Chicago is playing better, but certainly not in the mold of teams that have beaten Indiana now that they have things going. With this being a huge game for the Fever, a win is in order.

I'll go with Indiana on the moneyline.

San Francisco at Milwaukee
Recommendation: San Fran Team Total Over 3.5 (-125 @ Pinnacle)

In Milwaukee starters Randy Wolf’s eight starts this season at Miller Park, opposing teams have scored 5, 9, 10, 1, 9, 7, 7 and 5 runs. Parts of those outputs were as a result the Brewers’ horrific bullpen but Wolf played a sizable role. In those 48 innings, Wolf surrendered 12 home runs and had a 1.63 WHIP. Those struggles easily outweigh San Francisco’s mediocre offensive ability. The Giants put six runs on the board last night against the Brew Crew and on the season have shown more ability to hit lefties (.737 team OPS). Three out of every four Milwaukee home games this season featured four runs or more from the opposition. Sixth-five percent of those 40 contests saw five runs or more. Shop around for the best number and play the Giants over the team total

Analysis: Stan is Betting TEXAS -1.5 RUNS today. Stan notes that when betting run lines you need to make sure sure you are backing a team that can score runs for you. Texas is a team that can do that and they are looking to bounce back from a ugly loss last night. Texas is 14-3 playing with revenge off a loss of 6 runs or more the last 3 seasons. Not only is Texas 14-3 put they have averaged winning those games by nearly 3 runs per game. Stan also notes that when Cleveland pitcher Masterson starts on the road his team is just 4-16 losing by a average of 2.5 runs per game over the last 2 seasons. Stan says laying the -1.5 Runs at -120 is a bargain here. TAKE TEXAS -1.5 RUNS as STAN'S 2* VEGAS WISE GUY GAME

Matchup: San Diego at Washington
Time: 7:05 PM EDT (Tue)
Listed pitchers must go: (L) RICHARD, C vs. (R) HERNANDEZ, L

Play: Under (7.5 -103)

The Padres have been a big money winner if you've playing their road games Under the number and the same holds true for the Nationals at home. Look for more of the same tonight as Clayton Richard tangles with Livan Hernandez. Both pitchers have done a superb job of keeping the ball in the park. Richard has 8 quality starts in his last ten outings, and there have been seven or fewer runs scored in five of his six road starts. The amazing Hernandez continues to be one of the biggest surprises of the season. He's had all but one quality starts at home, with six of nine home efforts having seven or fewer total runs scored. Just the base numbers alone are strong indicators to a low scoring game, and it's not like either offense is crushing the ball. I'll look for a tight and tense clash between the Padres and Nationals with the Under standing out as the best option.

Matchup: N.Y. Yankees at Oakland
Time: 10:05 PM EDT (Tue)
Listed pitchers must go: (L) SABATHIA, C.C. vs. (R) CAHILL, T

Play: Oakland (ML +146)

You won't see my trying to beat CC Sabathia very often, and it's a daring move here as the massive lefty has won his last six starts. But Sabathia gets stiff competition tonight from blazing hot Trevor Cahill. The surging A's prospect has now permitted a meager 19 ER in his last 77 IP, and his curve is absolutely baffling most opposing hitters. I think the pitching here is a virtual wash, particularly given Sabathia's poor record in this ballpark. Beyond that, the A's have played .600 ball at home this season, so this become a real nice value with them sending their ace to the mound tonight. The game is a tossup, but that being the case, being able to get this kind of an underdog price makes this a very solid risk. Grab the A's to snare the upset.

Kansas City (Greinke) -145 at Seattle (Rowland-Smith)
Recommendation: Kansas City

All of a sudden, the Kansas City Royals are starting to play some pretty good baseball. Since reaching their low point of 14 games under .500 two weeks ago, the Royals have won eight of their last eleven behind a combination of solid pitching and timely hitting. KC took two out of three in LA against the Angels to open up their road trip, and then rallied to win again in extra innings here in Seattle last night. KC has legitimate momentum right now, giving us a prime opportunity to cash supporting them here. Zack Greinke is clearly back in the Cy Young form he showed last year. He’s got a 26:2 strikeout-to-walk ratio in his last four starts. Greinke has a 1.86 ERA in seven career starts against the Mariners.

New York Yankees at Oakland Athletics
Tuesday, July 6th, 10:05 ET

Play NY at Oakland Under – great pitching matchup tonight in Oakland with Sabathia facing Cahill. CC is getting into one of those groves as in his last three starts he’s been nearly unhittable with a 0.75 ERA. Meanwhile, Oakland’s Cahill doesn’t get much publicity but he’s quietly put up a 10-3 team start record and 2.74 ERA. At home he’s been very tough with a 1.35 ERA. CC faced these A’s once this season way back in April and he went eight innings and allowed only four hits and three earned runs. He was a bit wild allowing six walks but that was early in the season. CC’s on his game and we don’t see the A’s putting up many runs on him tonight. This will be the first time the Yankees face this tough righty and don’t see them scoring many runs. These two teams played a low scoring game last night and it will be another under tonight. Good Luck, Lenny Del Genio

Today's Complimentary Play

3 in a row for free after the Rays came back on Monday!

For Tuesday, take the Yankees on the RUN LINE to deliver another win at Oakland.

Last night the Yanks were able to win it 3-1, as they have now won 3 of the 4 season series meetings against the A's, ALL 3 wins coming by 2 runs or better.

CC Sabathia is rolling right now, and sports a 0.75 ERA for his last 3 starts, and is also 3-1 his last 5 starts against Oakland.

Trevor Cahill has also been in a groove, and the Oakland hurler is 8-2 with a season ERA under 3. Problem is, this could be another 3-1 final in the favor of New York.

Like the value the Yankees present on the RUN LINE tonight, so take them!

2? YANKEES RUN LINE
(on a 1? to 5? basis)

MATT RIVERS

Take the Blue Jays as the home dog over the Twins.

I know Carl Pavano has had a good season so far, but he hasn’t enjoyed any success against Toronto in his career, especially on the road.
Pavano is 1-3 with an 8.69 ERA in his last four starts against the Blue Jays, all on the road. The right-hander is 3-5 with a 6.22 ERA in 10 career games against Toronto overall.
The Blue Jays have won 15 of 19 versus the Twins and 12 of 16 at home. Toronto starter Jesse Litsch is 3-0 with a 3.10 ERA in five career starts against them.

Take Toronto for the home win.

3? TORONTO on a 1? to 5? Scale

JEFF BENTON

For Tuesday, we’ll stay on the West Coast but switch to the National League and take the big plus money with the Marlins over the Dodgers.
Florida has found a second home in Los Angeles in recent years, winning nine of their last 13 games at Dodger Stadium dating to 2006 after Monday’s 6-5 victory. And since a 7-3 home loss on April 9 in the first meeting this season, Florida has taken three straight from L.A. to improve to 9-5 overall in this rivalry since July 2008.
Then again, the Dodgers have struggled mightily outside their division this season. They’re an astounding 23-6 against N.L. West rivals, but 18-20 otherwise, including 4-10 against the N.L. East. Also, with Manny Ramirez in the lineup, Los Angeles is 29-20; without the slugger (who is on the DL at least through the end of the All-Star break), the Boys in Blue are 16-16.
As for the pitching matchup, you’ve got Dodgers right-hander Vicente Padilla looking for his third consecutive quality start (he’s gone seven innings in his last two games and allowed a combined three runs, nine hits and two walks). However, L.A. is just 2-6 in Padilla’s last eight starts going back to the 2009 NLCS, and that includes a 7-6 loss at Florida on April 10 (Padilla allowed four runs in 4 1/3 innings).
Meanwhile, Florida’s Chris Volstad (4-7, 4.45 ERA) has definitely had issues with consistency this year, but he’s got a power right arm and he’s been decent in four starts against Los Angeles (11 earned runs allowed in 26 1/3 innings, a 3.76 ERA).

(based on a 1? to a 10? Rating)

5? FLORIDA MARLINS

CHUCK OBRIEN

CHUCK OBRIEN

Tuesday’s complimentary release comes from the N.L. Central, as I’ll take the road-underdog Pirates at Houston.
First of all, take a look at the records of these teams – Pittsburgh is 30-52, while Houston is 32-51, meaning just a 1½ games separate these squads in the Central standings. And the Pirates actually enter this series as the hotter team. They just took three of four at home from the two-time defending N.L. champion Phillies, and they’ve won four of five and five of seven. Meanwhile, the Astros just lost three straight games to the Padres (scoring a grand total of two runs), and they’ve dropped 15 of their last 22 games.
You have to like the progress Pittsburgh rookie pitcher Brad Lincoln is making, too. After giving up five runs in each of his first two starts against the Nationals and White Sox, Lincoln has allowed just six earned runs in his last three outings covering 19 innings (2.84 ERA), leading the Pirates two victories. Lincoln’s best big-league start so far came in Wednesday’s 2-0 win at Wrigley Field, as he scattered four hits and one walk in seven innings. The right-hander has now gone at least six innings in every start. True, Astros lefty Wandy Rodriguez is coming off two impressive wins over the Giants and Brewers, giving up just three runs (one earned) in 13 innings. However, Houston is still just 6-10 in his 16 starts this season and he remains only 2-3 with a 4.62 ERA at home.
Both teams were idle on Monday, and while Pittsburgh has been solid following a day off (13-6 last 19), the Astros have been anything but (8-24 last 32). Houston has also dropped 52 of 77 to right-handed starters and 23 of 33 series openers.

2? PITTSBURGH PIRATES (on a 1? to 5? scale)

Michael Cannon, Featured Handicapper

I’m now 71-64 with my last 135 free plays.
Take the Pirates for the road win over the Astros.
I know Pittsburgh has had little success at Minute Maid Park, but the Buccos are actually playing decent ball right now.
The Pirates have won four out of their last five, including three of four from Philadelphia. They are getting good production from their core group of youngsters that were recently recalled from Triple-A, Pedro Alvarez, Jose Tabata, Neil Walker and tonight’s starter Brad Lincoln.Lincoln is coming off his first major league win on Wednesday. The right-hander struck out six in seven shutout innings of the 2-0 win over the Cubs.Houston lost three of four at San Diego despite a series in which its starters allowed just three earned runs in 25 2-3 innings.
Take the Pirates for the road win.

3? PITTSBURGH

Derek Mancini, Featured Handicapper

Nice hit with the White Sox over the Angels 9-2 Monday! This time we're going after a little plus money with the Nationals hosting the Padres in the opener of their 3-game set tonight.Bettors see Clayton Richard (6-4, 2.74 ERA) on the road (3-1, 2.29 ERA) for this price, and immediately flock to play the Padres. Big mistake. He may have impressive numbers, but they pale in comparison to Livan Hernandez's numbers at Nationals Park (4-1, 1.75 ERA), where he's been as dominant as they come.
Padres-backers will tout Hernandez's career ERA against San Diego, but I don't buy it. The Nationals are respectable at home this season, and given the proper support, Hernandez can beat anyone in this venue. Good news for him is the Nats have hit lefties much better than righties this season (4.3 runs per game), including batting .291 against them at Nationals Park. Padres on the other hand, bat just .247 against righties on the road.
Both clubs have strong bullpens, but this one comes down to the starters. I know bettors are hot and heavy for Richard after some impressive road starts, but underestimating Hernandez at home will come back to bite you in the ass. Washington (Hernandez) over San Diego (Richard) Tuesday.

Tuesday's Action 15 DIME seleation on the Yankees-A’s game UNDER the posted total. The total here is a solid 7½ both here in Vegas and offshore. All baseeball totals require both starters to be listed for action, so New York’s CC Sabathia and Oakland’s Trevor Cahill start or this releaoe is VOID!

Yankees-A’s UNDER the total

CC Sabathia’s last three starts for New York: 3-0, 0.75 ERA (two earned runs in 24 innings), and the under cashed in all three games.

Trevor Cahill’s last three starts for the A’s: 2-0, 1.31 ERA (3 runs allowed in 20 2/3 innings), and the under is 2-0-1.

Sabathia’s last six starts overall: 6-0, 2.00 ERA (10 earned runs in 45 innings), and the under is 4-1-1.

Cahill’s last 12 starts overall: 8-1, 2.20 ERA (19 earned runs allowed in 77 innings), and the under is 9-2-1.

Sabathia’s last two starts on the road: 2-0, 1.80 ERA (3 earned runs allowed in 15 innings)

Cahill’s five starts at home: 4-0, 1.35 ERA (5 earned runs allowed in 33 1/3 innings), and the under cashed in all five games.

So I think I’ve estaalished that we’ve got two outstanding starting pitchers on the bump in this game, both capable of going at least seven innings tonight. Well, we’ve also got two slumping offenses going. Even before their 3-1 victory in last night’s series opener, the Yankees were batting just .238 over their previous 10 games, and they’ve now scored four runs or fewer in 19 of their last 24 road games.

The A’s have scored just 12 runs in their last five games, and they’ve tallied four runs or fewer in 25 of their last 34 games overall. The thing that’s carried Oakland has been its pitching (the A’s have yielded just 13 runs in their last five games and have held eight of their last 11 oppeonents to three runs or less).

The under is 10-3-2 in Oakland’s last 15 games overall (5-1 at home), and for the season the under is 25-14-1 in the pitcher-friendly Oakland Coliseum. Also, the under has cashed in four of New York’s last six games overall and 12 of its last 14 in American League ballparks.

Finally, these teams have now played three straight “unders” – all in Oakland (including a 4-2 A’s win over Sabathia on April 22) – and the under is 11-5-1 in the last 17 series meetings. Also, we’ve got two lights-out closers at the back end of these bullpons in the Yankees’ Mariano Rivera (1.11 ERA, 18 saves) and Oakland’s Andrew Bailey (1.59 ERA, 17 saves).

This one’s got 2-1 final written all over it. Play it low.

5 UNIT GAME OF THE WEEK Indian Cowboy Tuesday

He has under 7- on Nationals /pades game.
This is a decent spot for the under as these two teams hook up. Clayton Richard has been solid this year for the Padres which is a key reason why they sit atop the National League. Richard has put together 8 of 10 quality starts and the two non-quality starts over his last ten outings come against the Orioles and the Nationals. Clayton gave up four runs in seven innings against the Nationals the last time he faced them as the Padres fell 3-5. Obviously, he remembers that loss today as he faces them on the road. Livan is pitching solid this year for the Nationals and you have to admire a team that has not quit at all. In fact, Washington will have a decent rotation with Livan and their rookie this year as they look to build a nucleus around him. Livan has not won over his last two starts despite pitching well and his team lost in a no-decision to San Diego on the road earlier this year 2-1. I expect both pitchers to pitch well as this game is likely to go under the posted total. The Under is 6-0-2 in Richard's last 8 road starts and the Under is 9-1-1 in Hernandez's last 11 home starts.

double-dime bet 907 PIT / 908 HOU Under 8 Bodog
Analysis: The UNDER 8 RUNS between the Houston Astros and the Pittsburgh Pirates is the DOUBLE STAR Play of the Day!

Love this UNDER. I actually had a strong lean to the ASTROS as well, but i feel the UNDER is the better/safer selection.

First off, both pitchers are primed to pitch well. I'm still a fan of Wandy Rodriguez, even though he's let me down the majority of the season. I know what this guy is capable of, and he's showing some signs of breaking out. I think he has a great opportunity to dominate tonight. However, Brad Lincoln is likely to pitch well against the Astros as well. Lincoln is a great young pitcher, and there's a reason there is so much hype around him. I absolutely love the fact that Lincoln is going to be pitching in front of so many of his friends and family tonight in basically a homecoming. Lincoln has all the motivation in the world to pitch well, and i think he will.

Both offenses are WEAK. Both offenses struggle with power, so they have to manufacture runs. With Rodriguez and Lincoln primed to pitch well, i simply don't see how this game goes OVER. This game has 3-2 written all over it. The line movement has been subtle in this total thus far, but the signs are there. This series is widely considered to be the ugliest series of the week. I understand why, but ugly can be good sometimes. I love capitalizing on UNDER THE RADAR type games. We've dominated doing that for quite some time, and tonight will be more of the same. THE UNDER 8 RUNS is the DOUBLE STAR Play of the Day!

triple-dime bet 929 KAN (-143) Sportbet vs 930 SEA
Analysis: Don't look now but the Kansas City Royals have prevailed in 8 of the last 11 and are playing confident and sound baseball. One of the most positive things contributing to the good vibes around the Royals clubhouse these days in the re-emergence of Cy Young award winner Zack Greinke to form. Make no mistake about it, when Zack is dialed in he is as tough as any pitcher in the game today, bar none. Opposing Zack tonight for the Mariners will be Ryan Rowland Smith who hardly inspires one to wager with Seattle seeing as how they have dropped eight of his last nine starts. Simple recipe for success here Royals, just plate Greinke a few runs of support and play defense behind him and this one is all yours. Another thing about this Seattle club guys that is well worth a mention in my view, they are a pathetic 0-10 after a ball game in which their bull pen has blow a save, and that is clearly the case tonight. Remember guys, it's one game in a schedule of 162 regular season contests. However, I do love our chances here. Triple Star on Zack Greinke and the Kansas City Royals.

4* CHICAGO CUBS over ARIZONA

It was gut check time at Chase Field yesterday afternoon, with two struggling teams showing up off of terrible weekend series, and there was a clear early sign as to which team had some guts left – the Cubs got off to a cathartic early lead and controlled the flow. Getting away from Wrigley may be just what the doctor ordered for an underachieving team that is still capable of making a run back to .500. Meanwhile the Diamondbacks have been out-scored 26-6 in losing their last three on this field, and their complete lack of focus shows in having almost twice as many K’s (40) as hits (21). A lost season in the desert has a chance to get very ugly, and this is a prime spot for us to take advantage.

We get a short price here because of a market perception that Carlos Silva is leveling off after a hot opening, with the Cubs losing each of his last four starts. But take a closer look. His ERA in those games (3.04) is right at his season level (2.96), as was his WHIP (1.12 vs. 1.08). If anything, there has even been more pop from his arm, with 20 K’s vs. only three W’s in the span, and all four starts were against winning teams. Now he gets a chance to step way down in class, and his pinpoint control can frustrate a lineup filled with players that lack patience. Meanwhile only Sean Marshall carries any kind of fatigue rating in the bullpen, and while he threw 1.2 innings on Monday, 18 pitches is not bad in going from a day game to a night affair.

Barry Enright got a “W” in his Major League debut, which represented a big jump from AA ball, but there was not much to like – he labored through 102 piches to get through five innings at St. Louis, with four W’s, and a 2:1 ratio of fly ball outs to ground outs. It was mostly baseball roulette, and we are not sure he is ready for this level yet. Given that it is a lost season already they are not going to rush his innings, and that will be a continuing problem, given the horrid 5.76 allowance from the Diamondback bullpen.

This game will definitely be a pitchers duel between New York Yankees starter C.C. Sabathia and Oakland Athletics starter Trevor Cahill. In his last five appearances Trevor Cahill has only allowed eight runs on twenty two hits in thirty four and one third frames. C.C. Sabathia has just gave up seven runs on twenty seven hits in thirty eight innings. Play: Oakland
