5-Unit Play. Take #212. Take Houston Texans -4.5 over Kansas City Chiefs (Sunday, October 17th @ 1:00pm est).
The Texans are in a good spot here. This is a team that just got embarrassed at home by a Giants team that was looking to rebound from a poor start to the beginning of the year. The Texans have a bye week next week and I suspect that they want to head into that week not in a sour state of mind of back to back losses. The Texans are the same team that played very well against the Colts to defeat them at home and note that they have bounced-back overall this year and in the past few years ATS. The Chiefs are a stunning 3-1 to start the year, but I suspect this team will not be sneaking up on anyone here on out. The Texans need a big win at home and the Chiefs will probably still be a hungover from the tough loss to Indianapolis. The Texans have a potent offense similar to Indy's and I can see the Chiefs letting their guard down a bit against Houston. I look for Houston to bounce-back here and likely cash the spread.

GAME OF THE WEEKEND

5 Unit Play. #226 Take Pittsburgh -13 over Cleveland (1:00p.m., Sunday, Oct. 17)
Why isn't this number close to the 20 mark? The Browns might throw Colt McCoy and if this is the case the Steelers defense will have a field day on the offense of the Browns. Pittsburgh also gets back Big Ben this Sunday and with him behind center their offense should be much better. Steelers win this game big and I will be shocked to see Cleveland score more then 7 points on the road. Pittsburgh is 7-2 ATS in Week #6.

Take Pittsburgh at home against a team that has played 3 QB's so far this year.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Redskins
Play: Indianapolis Colts -3

Washington comes into this matchup after experiencing 2 tough road battles with Philadelphia and Green Bay. The Redskins return home a tired squad. They rank 24th in PPG (17.8) and 25th in Rush YPG (88.6). QB Donovan McNabb is still a threat, but only with his arm. He is not the rusher he once was. RB Clinton Portis is out and outside of WR Santana Moss, the ‘Skins are lacking in their receiving corps. On the defensive side, Washington is ranked 30th against the pass, giving up 298 YPG in the air. They must face Peyton Manning and the 3rd ranked scoring offense in the NFL. Manning did not throw either for 300 YP or a TD last week in the squads victory over KC. A bad game is rare for the QB, let alone 2 in a row. QB Matt Schaub threw for 497 yards and 3 TDs against the Redskins a month ago. Indianapolis will have RB Addai and WR Garcon in the lineup to add to the vast offensive arsenal. LB Clint Session is also back and healthy. A spent Washington team is due for a letdown while the Colts gallop. Washington is 5-12 ATS their L17 games played at home and 0-4-1 ATS their L5 games played in week 6. Indianapolis is 11-4-1 ATS their L16 games played on the road and 7-1-1 ATS their L9 vs. teams with a winning record. Take Indy.

Sunday's winners...
500-Unit NFL Sunday Night Smart Play - INDIANAPOLIS COLTS

This game boils down to one simple fact – can Washington’s NFL-worst defense stop Peyton Manning and the Colts’ offense? I seriously don’t think so and we’ll see a big Indianapolis victory tonight in Washington. Look for something in the 28-14 range.

The Redskins give up 410.2 yards per game and they’ve allowed 30 points in both losses this season. Look for this game to be similar to that 30-27 OT loss the Redskins suffered at the hands of the Texans in Washington earlier this season.

The Colts, as we all know, can put up points in a hurry. They average 401.6 yards of offense per game, Manning is tied for the NFL lead with 11 TD passes and he ranks third with 1,609 yards. WR Reggie Wayne is second in the NFL with 531 yards per game, but they do struggle on the ground with injuries to RBs Joseph Addai and Donald Brown, this rushing attack is only managing 79.8 yards per contest.

While Indianapolis doesn’t defend the run very well, the Redskins have their own problems in the backfield with RB Clinton Portis out a month and backup Ryan Torain managing just 40 yards on 16 carries last week.

The Colts average 26.3 points per game through three road games this season while the Redskins are managing just 18.7 points per game at home. Indianapolis is a strong team at the betting window, 11-4-1 ATS on the road, 15-7-1 ATS overall, 4-1 in October, 7-1-1 against winning teams and 7-2 as a road favorite. On the other side, the Redskins aren’t such good bets, on slides of 7-15 ATS at home against teams with winning road records, 5-12 at home overall, 1-4-1 as a home ‘dog of up to three points and 0-4-1 ATS in Week 6 action the last five years.

Look for Indianapolis to pick apart the Washington secondary and win this one by two touchdowns.

200-Unit NFL No-Brainer - HOUSTON TEXANS

Houston has an explosive offense that ran into the Giants’ defense last week that was just too much for the Texans. They held Houston RB Arian Foster to just 25 yards rushing after he had topped the 100-yard mark in three of the first four games. Look for this offense to get back on track against the Chiefs and deliver a big 27-13 win at home today.

The Texans were averaging 142.4 yards rushing per game before the Giants came and shut them down last Sunday. They also have a very potent passing attack, but QB Matt Schaub has to cut down on the INTs and the sacks. He’s been sacked 14 times this season and if he learns to throw the ball away in those situations, he’s going to save his team some yards.

Returning to the Houston lineup today is WR Andre Johnson who has been bothered by a high ankle sprain. He played last week, but his effectiveness was limited. Also back in the Texans’ lineup is 2009 defensive rookie of the year Brian Cushing who had to miss the first four games serving a suspension.

Kansas City has not done much in two road games this season, beating hapless Cleveland 16-14 and then losing last week in Indianapolis 19-9 as 7 ½-point underdogs. The Chiefs just couldn’t muster any offense with just 261 total yards.

Lack of offense will kill the Chiefs today in Houston. Kansas City comes into this one 3-8 ATS in their last 11 games after a non-cover.

Houston is on ATS surges of 3-0-1 against AFC teams, 9-3 after a straight-up loss, 6-2-2 against winning teams and 14-5 at home against teams with a winning road record.

Last time these two teams met was in 2007 when Houston clobbered the Chiefs 20-3 as three-point home favorites. I’m looking for another win and cover today from the Texans. Lay the number and play Texas.

401k sports NFL 4* play

4* HOUSTON -4 over Kansas City (1pm et)
Well we are going against the Chiefs again as our top play. The Texans one big weakness is versus the pass, but the Chiefs have been very poor throwing the ball. They fought hard last week against the Colts but managed just 260 total yards and 3 field goals. It is tough to go on the road in back2back weeks against these kind of offenses. The Texans are coming off a totally embarrassing loss at home last week to the Giants. They had less than 200 yards of offense but the Texans seem to be getting healthy and they have a bye next week. I do not see them wanting to go into that bye off back2back home losses. I also think that the Texans run game will be effective here which in turn will open up play action for Schaub. The Chiefs played alot of dime last week to try and take away the Colts passing game which did work but the Colts running game is not as strong as the Texans. I believe the Texans are ready to take out their frustration out on someone and looking ahead to the bye week to try and fix some things. Lets back the Texans at home today as our top play. Houston 28 Kansas city 17!!

New Orleans - 4 ** TOP Play **
at Tampa Bay 1 pm et
The Saints have looked like a SB hangover team, but we think they
will pull out this week, playing with Division revenge at Tampa Bay.
NFL teams which lost to a non-division team by 7 pts or more when
they were favored by 7 or more rebound strongly the following week.
These teams are 72-40 ATS since 1980.
There certainly isn't anything wrong with the Saints defense. The
New Orleans defense is allowing 61 yds/gm LESS than last years
SB team. The offense has struggled, but we see them getting well
vs a 3-1 TB team that looks like a bit of a pretender. The Bucs are
allowing generous yardage, but have been benefitting from those all
important turnovers. TB got 4 turnovers last week at Cinci, and 3 in
their other 2 wins. In their lone loss at Pittsburgh, TB got a season
low 2 TO',s and were beaten 38-14 by a team with a back-up QB.
Obviously, Drew Brees is no back-up.
GREAT value, as last season, we would be laying dble digits here.
The Cards did not score an offensive touchdown last week vs NO in
the bizarre loss at Arizona. NO had 373 yds to AZ 194!
Tampa is being out-scored on the year and have been out gained in
every game but one.
system to;
Play ON the defending Super Bowl champs if they are playing on
the road off a straight-up loss as a favorite, AND they are playing
a .500 or better team that is playing off a SU and ATS win.

NO is 56-11-1 ATS in their last 68 SU wins and are a
POWERFUL 48-5-2 ATS their last 55 SU revenge victories.
NO 6-1 in 2nd of BB rd games
The visitor in 19-5 in the last 24 Tampa Bay games
TB 1-11-2 ATS in its last 14 home games.
TB 1-10 in OCT playing off a straight underdog win .

Philadelphia UNDER 43
vs Atlanta 1 pm et
With the posted total in this range, Atlanta is UNDER 5-22 away
off a SU win S2003.
The Eagles are an under team in October 18-35 UNDER in OCT.
Atl 1-9 UNDER away after allowing 10 or less pts.
Series UNDER 5 in a row.

Denver +3.5 to + 4
vs NY Jets 4:05 pm et
Great set up here for the home team.
The Jets are playing on the short week off the Monday niter, & now
fly into the high altitude of Denver. The Jets should be a bit tired in
this spot playing their 6th straight game & their 3rd road game in 4
weeks. Denver has been horrible running the ball, but QB Orton has
been lighting it up thru the air with 4 straight 300+ yd passing games.
The fatigue should catch up with the Jets 22nd ranked pass defense
chasing the Bronco's receivers around in the thin air. The Broncos
have been the way to go in this series, 8-2 ats the last 10, and 5-1
ats at Mile High.
Den 11-2 as a non-div HD of 2.5+ pts
Den 17-3-1 before Oakland when facing a team off a win
Den 8-0 in OCT as dogs when WL% is less than .500
Den 7-1 in OCT off a SU/ATS loss vs a team off BB SU wins.
NYJ 8-19 on the road vs non -div teams.
NYJ 1-11 in OCT off BB SU/ATS wins
NYJ 1-10 in OCT off a non-div vs a non div that is off a SU/ATS loss
Teams with 3 SU/ATS wins in a row, with 90+ ttl points scored during
that span, and are installed as a road favorites and are playing a team

Cutler is slated to play, if not for some reason just drop it to a unit play here if it bothers you, but Seattle overrated all year after a couple of lucky wins, and I like them here to get pounded like they did in Denver a few weeks back on the road. Chicago will run Forte who found his step last week and Seattle just 1-10 ATS away from home their last 11 games. Not the same team on the road and they also are running back by committee. Chicago a good team who NOW will balance their attack, and at home they should be more than good here for a blowout of 12 points or more, Seattle managed 3 points on the road at St Louis for crying out loud! 20 DIME NFL release on the BRONCOS as a home underdog against the Jets. Denver is catching betwaen 3 and 3½ points in this contest, and since those are key numbers in the NFL, I want you to buy the half point in either instance – taking Denver to either +3½ or +4 – to maxismize our chances of winning. Do NOT get beat by the hook in this game.
*
10 DIME NFL release on the Broncos-Jets OVER the total. The over/under in this contest is ranging from 41½ to 43 depending on where you do your business. That’s a big discrepancy and crosses several key “totals” numbers, so be sure you shop around and get the lowest possible total.

All ovnr this Sunday 25 Dime Road Warrior Game of the Year, as I have the Bolts of San Diego layiang the wood to destroy the St. Louis Rams on their home turf. 1pm eastdrn start, no problemo for Diego to roll in this game at all!
Okay. Nothing new here. Once again the Chargers have the top-rated ofnense and defense in the AFC. Once again they have started the season 2-3.
In past years this is exactly where they start streaking, and what better way to start your streak then to visit a team that just got crushaed 44-6 by THE DETROIT LIONS!
This is a talented and angry San Diego team visiting a disheartened team in St. Louis, and if you think the Rams are a good home team because of their respectable wins against both Washington and Seattle then I will tell you that YOU DID NOT WATCH THOSE GAMES!
Two extremdly sloppy efforts by the Redskins and Seahawks inflated both perception and ego in St. Louis. I believe both have now been popped for good after last weeks annihilation. Look for San Diego to make a statement and run it up a little. Norv Turner always enjoys piling dirt on the coffin after a loss. Look for San Diego to get a pick-six in this one as well.
Put a pinky on this.
A pinky is 25 dimes in Fanelli-land.
Have a great Sunday, smack yer bookies fa' me and then have a nice dinner with your families! See you warriors on the other side!

30 Dime - Seahawks plus the points over the Bears. As this selectnon is being released at 11 pm ET Saturday, Seattle is currentdy between a 6 and 6 1/2 point pup.

Last week the Bears beat up on the rookie QB Clausen and looked like they had recovered from the brutal beating they received at the hands of the Giants. This week the Seahawks come into town off a bye and with a refurbished running game, when they acquired Marshawn Lynch. Lynch is a big back that can wear down a team and the Bears will be without star LB Lance Briggs. That puts it all on Urlacher to stop him all day long. The Hawks also get back star rookie OL Okung for this game as well. He gets the lovely assignment of Julius Peppers but who can handle him in this league. What I definitely see happening here is Seattle working during the bye on bringing the kitchen sink to attack the fragile Cutler. Let's face it, he is one good hit from being on the sidelines for the rest of the day and I certainly can see that happening. Seattle special teams are better than the Bears with Leon Washington back there returning kicks.

This game is definitely under the radar but not under ours. The opener was Bears-6.5 and with 75% of the bets coming in on Chicago the line as of this writing was Bears -6. That's a major reverse line move. considering the amount of bets coming in on the Bears.

5 Dime - Texans over the Chiefs. As this selectnon is being released at 11 pm Eastern Saturday, Houston is currentdy a 4 1/2 point chalk.

Texans are in a bounce back situation here against the Chiefs, who are also coming off their first lost of the season. I can't see KC and their offense being able to take advantage of the one was to beat the Texans, through the air. For whatever reason, Charlie Weiss and the Todd Haley, have not really let Cassel look down the field this season, so how are they going to take advantage? I don't see it. Texans on the other hand open at home as a 3.5 favorite and it ticked up almost immediately. That is a really good thing to pay attention to. Sharps will hit a favorite early if they like them and don't see the public coming in on the dog to give them any break. Arain Foster should get back on track as the line will not get out of hand as it did last week, basically removing the run game from the equation. Schaub hasn't really had that breakout passing game that most expect of this offense and taking advantage of the rookie Berry might be a good place to start.

5 Dime Teaser - Ravens +8 1/2 and Falcons +8 1/2

As of this writing both the Ravens and the Falcons are +2.5. if they are still at those numbers this morning then go ahead and play the teaser of the Ravens and the Falcons at +8.5. If they are at the 3 then I still think they would work fine at +9

Huge Sunday card up now and lead by NFL non-divisional total of the year and triple system 5 star super side. I also have 27-2 and 21-2 best bet system sides. Last week, the NFL went 6-1 combined. Saturday cashes big. Free system club play below.

On Sunday, the NFL system club play is on the Cleveland Browns at 1:00 eastern. The Browns fit a nice non-divisional system that plays on certain teams off a non-divisional loss vs an opponent that is off a division loss. The points appear to be to many for the Stealers to cover today. Pittsburgh maybe getting starting QB Rothlisberger back. However, it may some time before he is completely in sync with his offense. Cleveland should be able to hang around and grab the cover in this one. On Sunday, I have the NFL 95% non-divisional total of the year, the card also comes with a 5 star triple system side and 2 more best bets with 27-2 and 21-2 systems. Last week we were 6-1 on all NFL selections. The damage continues today. For the free system club play take the points with the Cleveland Browns. GC

“1 UNIT” SUNDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL SYSTEM (Redskins +3 at home versus Colts in a 8:20 eastern primetime kickoff on NBC): It is easy to see why Indianapolis has been cast as the road favorite this evening since they already looked like world beaters in a week-two Sunday Night NBC telecast where Peyton Manning destroyed his brother Eli in a 38-14 blowout. In addition the Colts last Sunday won on the scoreboard against the NFL’s lone remaining unbeaten team, but according to my database research that triumph over Kansas City is actually NOT good news. Teams like Indianapolis who both “win and cover” against an opponent with at least a “3-0” overall record are a horrible 8-27 ATS if their next game is on the ROAD. Speaking of the highway Peyton Manning and company so far this campaign (1-2) have not been automatic. The following may come as a complete shock to many but the Colts have NOT won straight-up at Washington since way back in 1967 when the legendary Vince Lombardi and the Packers ruled the roost. To make a long story short the arrival of new head coach Mike Shanahan has changed the MENTALITY of the Redskins who are a much tougher unit when taking the field as opposed to a year ago (4-12) when they were essentially operating with a “lame duck” management. For a second consecutive season NFL ratings are through the roof and make no mistake it is a GOOD thing for the league that Washington is finally fielding a winning product. For sheer geographic purposes tonight’s game is important for the Redskins as 4 of their next 6 games will be played on the road. Going back to the database research I see that Washington has been gold for bettors (5-0-1 ATS) when cast as a “Non” Divisional home underdog. Last Sunday new Washington quarterback Donovan McNabb passed for 357 yards and in his entire career the veteran signal caller (17-8 ATS) has produced when cast as an underdog. Here is an amazing “25-4” SYSTEM (automatic past five years) which goes AGAINST excellent offensive road teams like Indianapolis who average at least 27 points and are off a low scoring affair that stayed below the total, against an opponent who has an “average” defense that permits 18-to-23 points per contest. That 25-4 ATS system favors Washington tonight
