I have been on the record saying much against the Bears. I think the Bears are the weakest 7-3 team in the NFL. All but one win came against teams with a .500 record or worse. The only team with a winning record is the Green Bay Packers. That game was at Soldier Field, and NFC North divisional games are always tough. It was also an ugly and close game where the Packers were penalized a team record 18 times to give the Bears a 20-17 victory.

The Bears schedule will now be filled with winning teams with Philly, New England and the Jets all traveling to Soldier Field. There is also the season finale at Green Bay.

This is the week we see how good that Chicago Bears’ defense really is when it faces Michael Vick and the second ranked offense (2nd in points, 8th in passing and 3rd in rushing). Chicago has been stout against the run allowing only 78 yards per game (2nd). But Vick adds a entirely different dimension to the rushing game since much of his yards on the ground come during designed passing plays. If Vick doesn’t fine a whole in Chicago’s 16th ranked passing defense (218 ypg), he could torch them for a long run.

Everyone knows that Chicago has been leaning on their defense. Jay Cutler and the offense rank 30th in overall yardage (294.9 ypg), 27th in passing (195.4 ypg), 20th in rushing (99 ypg). This doesn’t bode well against the ninth ranked defense in the league. Though the 14th ranked passing game (213.6 ypg) is the weakest element of the defense, the Eagles will be able to focus on it much more if the Bears pathetic running game hits a wall against their eighth ranked rushing defense (99.7 ypg)

I have been watching this line all week and saw it up to 3.5 yesterday. It has since come back down and my sportsbook has the Eagles as three-point road chalk.

I'm staying on the Eagles' bandwagon this week.
