Does anyone here have any experience with this? I understand the "sharp line" as a seperate line created for bettors that the bookies identify as being good. That is some bullshit if you ask me. This basically makes long term viability as a gambler much harder. Even if you are successful, the bookies just rig the game so you can't win.

I met a couple of guys who told me they were basketball bettors. They told me they won about 30k. They said after that Bodog started making their lines shitty.

Its a pretty common term, but this discussion will probably go the same way that the "right side/wrong side" one went.

I make a line for fights before the lines come out also so I'm not sure what you're asking. If I think a line should be -200 and the real line is -400 I'm not betting that fighter even if I think he wins.

Also I think the guys you talked to embellished a little on how much they won .Bodog would cut your limits WAY before you made 30k off them. You'd be lucky to win 3-5k before they cut your limits to 100 a play. Bodog ,betus, and a few other books are known to move lines on players that bet favorites alot .

So if you bet fav's a lot they will make your fav lines worse?

What do these companies say when confronted about this?

Yeah instead of the favorite being -3.5 you might get -4.5 when you log in. Of course if you just bet underdogs with them you'll be fine but most people bet all favorites.

From what I've heard over the years they deny they are doing it. People know they are because they'll look at the line on the website and it will be -3.5 and when they log in it'll be -4.5. I've seen people post that two friends log in at bodog at the exact same time and one guy will have a -3.5 line and the other will have -4.5 on the same game. I've heard that have software that tracks how you bet then shades the line against you

I've heard about this too, but I've never understood it. I mean, if the system works properly and approximately equal amounts of money comes in on both sides--with the losers paying the winners--why the fuck do they care who they give the money to?

Have you ever heard of guys just getting locked out for being too good? How much money do these companies make per year? I know that is hard to say.

Equal money doesnt come in on both sides for most fights or games

Yeah I've heard of many people getting kicked out of books for winning too much and usually they've only won a few thousand dollars. Most of the time though books just cut your wagering limits to $1 if they want rid of you.

I've never heard of people getting kicked out of thegreek or pinnacle though ,only smaller books

I have no idea what books make a year though

I've never personally heard of anyone getting 100% banned but I've heard of some individuals' limits getting knocked down so low that it basically just wasn't worth it to play anymore.

I've also heard that Bookmaker has never reduced anyone's limits.

My understanding is that it's usually pretty close.

Its not, people for the most part bet favorites in every sport so the sportsbooks usually are rooting for the dog to win/cover

Pretty sure this is 100% accurate, although I would imagaine it is usually a .5 pt difference with the rare occasion being 1 pt difference and never more than that. They DEFINITELY track when you buy half points etc. (aka buying a 3 pt game to 2.5 or a 3.5 pt game to 3.) The software capabilities are tremendous, I know an IT Exec who did some consulting work for an offshore.

How feasible do you guys think it is to make an actual living doing this? Making 50k+ a year. There has to be a point where the book just gets rid of you. I know SBJJ makes a living doing this but he also goes to Vegas to place big bets. There must be a reason he does it that way. Anyone talk about this with real professional gamblers?

Some books will never kick you out no matter how much you win. Once you start winning alot off them they use your bets as info on which way to move lines
