Well now that it is a thread what is everyone opinion? Monson is a hard matchup for Fedor. He has good wrestling and great sub defense. His chin is solid. If Fedor can't knock him out he might end up underneath him for a while.
The judging makes me nervous though, will they give Monson credit for top position if he gets it?

And I see no way for Monson to win. Literally no way. He won't get Fedor down. He won't outstrike him.
I bet Fedor will be -800 at least. Anything -500 or better and I will be on him for sure.

He does look a little wide in that picture. I read that he is in talks to fight Satori Ishi. I'm sure the spelling is off there. He is the Judo guy from Japan. He should get demolished by Fedor. I wonder if this is whats left for Fedor. Being confined to fighting the stragglers on the outskirts of mma. I can't imagine he would go back to zuffa and take whatever contract they can offer him now. It would probably be a fraction of what the first one was. He really fucked up. The only way he can make out is if M1 takes off and becomes a really big company because he owns part of it. Crazy Russians.
I agree that Fedor fucked up. He should've been reasonable and come to the UFC . . . from what I understand Dana was willing to negotiate with him significantly. But what can you say, he rolled the dice and lost.

Monson would flop anytime he took a good hit and fedor didnt want to be on the ground.

Monson is a guy who can barely move and literally limped to the ring. He was merely there for a paycheck. Fedor dominated but it honestly looked like a sparring match.
I wonder why we didn't get a line.

It's just one fight though and Fedor is a huge name. Monson is also known fairly well.

For reals... first, they can't even get a headline right "According to Russia..." WTF. Might as well have said "According to earth/space/table/carrot". Second, it is not even accurate, if you read the actual story, the report says his escort rushed over to stop a scuffle that might have happened (because Monson is known to scuffle with police).
Basically the story is this "According to Russia, Jeff Monson once fought with police, and therefore his escort kept a close eye on him while in Russia."
